The home, uniquely designed with five levels, maximizes ocean views and sunsets throughout. Private grounds, private oceanfront ! Amazing surfing and fishing right from your back yard. ! Miles of bike paths and Nature Preserves. Stroll along the beautiful sandy white beaches or just bask in the sunshine. Truly Paradise!

Great View and Beach

Loved the beach access enjoyed by all ages in the family. Sunrises and sunsets were fantastic! Multiple levels gave everyone their own space. Kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped for every need. We all appreciate your wonderful vacation spot.

Perfect Getaway

Great location, on the beach, natural environment, property tastefully furnished and equipped, we enjoyed the split level for affording getting together and privacy, (5 adults)quiet neighborhood, wonderful friendly surf/beach shop within walking distance, easy access to shopping, restaurants and state park- getting out and about too. Truly honored to see Turtle conservation up close. Lovely property. Communication excellent.

Love, Love, LOVE this view!

The view and location would be hard to match! We felt like we had our own private beach right out the back door. Plenty of beach chairs, shovels, buckets, and towels available. This spacious home offers an incredible arched ceiling, tall windows for viewing spectacular sunrises, a well equipped kitchen, and multiple floors allowing everyone plenty of space and privacy. One thing to point out, there are a lot of levels/stairs. Not an issue for us because our little one isn’t mobile yet but may be for someone with very small children. Host was very responsive to any concerns and questions

Totally Amazing!

I can't say enough good things about this rental - it was (despite a slight interruption from Hurricane Matthew!) the most relaxing place we've ever stayed in. We saw very few people indeed during our time on the beach which was exactly what we'd planned. The beach was beautiful white soft sand - before Matthew arrived - hopefully it will be back to its pristine condition by now. The house itself has everything you could need and is beautifully furnished. One of my favorite memories will be sitting on the sofa and looking right to watch the waves and left to see the sunset! Perfect... can't wait to return.

Great location, unique villa, responsive owner

Gull House is in excellent location right on a beautiful beach. It is equidistant between Vero Beach and Melbourne Beach...15-20 minute drive to many outstanding restaurants. There is an excellent breakfast spot, The Long Point Cafe, just a mile up the road. The villa is on three levels with "gentle steps" between each level. The kitchen and Living room on the top level has views of the ocean for great morning sun rises. The master bedroom on the middle level has direct access to the front yard and ocean which was perfect for our dog. The kitchen is very well equipped and the villa is comfortably furnished. The owner Eric is very responsive and was very helpful in getting us a couple of extra days on the front end of our rental. We have already re-upped for next year......Bob & Ginny Herrick

Ocean Therapy

We loved our stay at Gullhouse. The rooms were spacious, beds excellent and kitchen was very well equipped. Loved the large deck to the beach to leave beach chairs and fishing equipment. The deck had a hose for rinsing Sandy feet and cleaning fish. The beautiful beach was so private and peaceful. My husband caught lots of Pompano and Whiting. Nice 2 car garage to leave our boat in and the beach house was away from A1A so we only heard the surf. The house does have 5 levels and stairs to climb, toddlers and elderly may have difficulty. The home was on an area with lots of nature preserves, so private and restful. Eric and Claudia were both very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a fantastic 2 weeks! We will come again!

Incomparable Stay at the beach

This house was by far the best place we've ever stayed at in Florida. Even when you're in the house you feel you're outside as well with the wall of glass overlooking ocean, beach, palm trees to the east and miles of trees and tropical vegetation to the west. Having 3 bedroom ensuites, it was perfect for visiting family for about half of the time we were there. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bedrooms are large, the furniture and decor are well chosen and attractive. We loved the privacy and a beach that is pretty empty almost all of the time. The next door neighbors are nice and friendly (and quiet), and the renters at the other end townhouse were also friendly as was their dog to our dog. This was our best vacation in Florida ever. Thank you!

Excellent stay - just a couple of steps to a "private" beach from you door!

The place is exactly as advertised. It is a very confortable property with all you need in a great location and an almost private beach as part of your backyard. Extras: great internet, cable tv, all you need in the kitchen and plenty of beach equipment and toys. The deck with direct access to the beach is just beautiful and the outdoor shower is extremely convenient. Do not be concerned about some previous comments. Some furniture may be old, but most furniture and appliances are top quality and definitely much better than the kind of furniture you will find on beach houses and even you own home. The refrigerator is huge and works great! Finally, the real experience besides the house, you can walk miles on a clean ad unspoiled beach. Enjoy the sea and the BIG EXTRA: you can walk at night and if you are lucky enough you may see turtles nesting and babies turtles hatching. This is a unique experience.!!! There are sticks all around the beach indicating the nest places. Just be careful, go to beach at night, do stargazing and the light of the moon, do not use flashlights, avoid touching and disturbing the turtles and passively watch how amazing things naturally happens! My kids just loved the experience!!!!

Love this place!!

My husband and I just spent 4 weeks. We were looking for a quiet, peaceful place on the beach and Gullhouse did not disappoint. Even though it could use a little TLC, the positives for this place SO outweigh any negatives. The owner, Eric, and property manager, Claudia, made our whole process and stay so smooth. This place is a gem! It was very clean and equipped with just about everything you could want—from kitchen utensils to beach chairs and boogie boards to bicycles. The rooms are very spacious. And quiet! We were worried about noise from the next door unit, but the only sound we ever heard was the waves crashing against the beach. The private deck is awesome and there are so few people on the beach, we felt like we had our own private beach. I can’t say enough good things about this place except we LOVED IT! Would love to come again.

Perfect Place

Full house was the perfect house with the perfect location only steps from the beach. The kids had plenty of room, great working space, great fishing, well equipped fishing and perfect for running and hiking excursions. Eric is a great host. We look forward to returning.

Place needs a ton of work!

I was very disappointed in this property because this place looked great on-line. There was a musty smell upon entering and water leaked on the kitchen floor the first day maybe from the a/c being off. The appliances are old and are not working properly...dishwasher doesn't dry, refrigerator barely stays closed, cooktop has a burner out, and the dryer worked off and on. The ceiling fans are warped, sliding doors/screens don't open properly, light bulbs are burned out, electrical outlets need work. The sheets/beds, pots/pans, towels, furniture (inside and out) all need replacing. The outdoor shower doesn't work and the grills need replacing. The place needs repainting, pressure washing, and landscaping along with some "beach like" decorating. This property has been neglected and it could be great because it has a great view and lots of privacy. The owner seemed nice on the phone but I'm sorry I won't be back. I've rented a lot of properties on the beach and was so excited to see this one but I was disappointed quickly.

Three Weeks on the Beach

My family spent the last part of May and the first half of June at the Gull House. As other reviews have noted, it is a special place. The house is part of a triplex. We saw the owners of the middle unit on a few occasions and they were very kind. The house has direct access to the beach. On almost everyday, we had the entire beach to ourselves. I fished just in front of the house and caught Pompeno and other fish. I missed several snook. If you want to fish, surf, or just play in the ocean, this is the perfect place. The water is warm and clean. Expect to see manatees, dolphins, and lots and lots of giant turtles. Coming up from the beach, there is a outdoor shower to wash the sand off. We also enjoyed the grill and deck. The top floor of the house is incredible. The kitchen has everything and it is clean. The entire top floor looks out over the ocean and even has a large outdoor balcony. How can you beat that? Another thing that makes the property special is that it is set a good distance from the road and has a detached garage. Plus, it is set in a extremely affluent area (think multi-million dollar homes). The entire setting is very quite and private. As other reviews have noted, there are nice restaurants nearby. My wife and I would often use the bikes and pedal down to the Long Point restaurant for breakfast that is less than a mile away (good and affordable). Finally, I know from my own experience renting summer homes that it can be a little bit hit and miss. There is a reason this home home has perfect reviews, it is definitely a place we want to come back to, which is really the highest praise I can give. Eric, the property owner, bent over backwards to accommodate us. He can be trusted, thank you Eric! We made great family memories. Russell (from New Mexico)

Enjoyable stay

From the check in to check out we were very pleased. A wonderful location, very private, quiet and restful. We ate on the upstairs balcony every lunch and dinner. Sometimes we were the only 2 on the beach for miles. Saw turtles nesting on several nights. The house is open, spacious and can accommodate 4 to 6 comfortably.

excellent place to watch wild life or catch some waves!

The entire family loved our two weeks here. The house was very clean, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of space to spread out when needed yet also room to congregate for meals. We were fortunate enough to see dolphins feeding just off the beach and catch a glimpse of several sea turtles coming up to the surface of the water for a breath of air during the day. At night we were able to simply step down off the deck area on to the beach and within just a few minutes see sea turtles coming out of the waves onto the sands to make their trek up the beach to lay eggs (keep in mind there are several laws regarding the sea turtles and fines to face if those laws are broken.) The water was clear and we enjoyed the boogie boards on the waves for several hours each day. The sound of waves in the beachfront master, the main floor patio facing the ocean, the outdoor shower, and the quiet neighborhood are all just extras!

Breathtaking and serene. The quiet secret locale that we all need.

The townhouse was very clean and well appointed for any of your needs. The 3 onsuite bedrooms were prefect for us. The owner and property manager were very attentive from the day we reserved our dates months beforehand and were genuinely interested in ensuring our stay met our satisfaction. The beach is steps away, the water had amazing colors, the waves were strong, the shells were great finds, and the tranquility of being away from main public areas made it a fantastic retreat. And the spectacular sunrises are definitely worth waking up to see. My pictures are gallery worthy and I just used my cell phone camera, the colors were that amazing. Definitely a secret diamond.

Fantastic Place to Stay!

We can't think of anything better than having the Atlantic Ocean right in your backyard! This is what we wanted and this is certainly what we got by renting at the Gull House from Eric and Ann. The townhouse itself was very unique and quite fascinating when considering its architecture and the way it's laid out. It has ample space and is exceptionally well-equipped even to the selection of reading material that it has for the guests. All one needs to do is head north up A1A for a few miles to stock up on food and drink and you're all set for a relaxing stay. We were in Florida for a family wedding and wanted a quiet place to enjoy after attending all the festivities and visiting with family and friends. This is exactly what we were able to do here. Our stay was during the first three weeks of April and we were blessed with beautiful weather and delightful temperatures. The roar of the ocean and the crashing of the waves on the beach along with experiencing the breathtaking sunrise over the horizon each morning were sights to behold! Whether it's aquatic or sightseeing activities or just rest and relaxation, the Gull House offers it all. Thank you Eric and Ann for sharing your beautiful place with us. Helen, Jerry, and Judy

The GULL HOUSE is an in betterment of life!

1st and foremost my wife and my sister-in-law are world traversers they've spiked out over 120 countries between the two of them therefore it was to no surprise that choose to reunite our families in a lush rememorable location as Melbourne. However what we didn't anticipate was this hidden gem called THE GULL HOUSE a private paradise that only continues to Awe at every sunrise to sunset! I'm a Central Coast California (SLO) beachcomber and my family I spoke of are SWISS in truest sense I only mention that because it's practically impossible to impress the Suisse let alone those part Sardinian. Yet we were all amazed over this Living Oasis simply named THE GULL HOUSE. This well manicured highly maintenanced property is a perpetual treat on every level literally. From the Professional Management of Claudia to the warmest hospitality of The Owner Eric G. This vacation spot became more than just a house but rather moment in our lives that we shared two weeks of Heaven on Earth. Yes I could continue on about how well domesticated and equipped the GULL HOUSE is with everything you need to fulfill & complete a beachfront retreat but that would only be an understatement. The truth is this slice of paradise is locked stocked and fully waiting for the right appreciative people to stay on it's vast private estate.. With its own private access to the beach only before you walk through your own custom large scale beach landing /deck & personal exterior shower. Aside from having state of the art appliances and cuisine ,stocked pantry, extremely CLEAN new Washer & Dryer etc. What really impressed all of us after coming from far parts of America and Switzerland was the Professional and warm hospitality of Claudia the property manager and her eagerness to make us feel right at home but at the same time gave us complete privacy so we could soak up the positive and genuine atmosphere that resides over THE GULL HOUSE... JUST A SIDE NOTE * If you do choose to get out and see the town, just under 10 miles north is a great GREAT German Restaurant also a shopping stripe mall / grocery store. Very friendly locals!!! I'm choosing not mention which two weeks we stayed for fear it will catch on but I will say my wife and I spent our 1st wedding Anniversary here at THE GULL HOUSE !!! Bons Souvenirs !!!

A place to breathe and enjoy family

I hesitate to write this review because once the word gets out I may not be able to come back. Gull House is a light, airy, expansive home that is surrounded by lush greenery and the azure blue of the ocean. With 3 amble bedrooms’ family members or guests will be assured some “alone time”. We chose to sleep in the back bedroom, there is a master suite one level up, because I wanted to fall asleep and rise to the sound of the waves. We spent most of our time on the top level in the kitchen or on the deck overlooking the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked with any type of cooking accessory you might need to make your stay memorable. There is also an outdoor grill in the garage. The beach was empty with the exception of a few mornings where fishermen dotted the shore. I began each morning walking the dog on the deserted beach with a cup of coffee savoring the sunrise. Absolutely priceless. You are secluded at the Gull House so if you want “action” this is not the place for you. I, on the other hand, loved it. About 10 miles north you will find a Publix for grocery shopping and 20 miles south you will find the wonderful boutique shopping in the town of Vero Beach. If you have time make a reservation at The Tides for dinner http://www.tidesofvero.com. We are golfers and were able to play several courses including the http://www.aquarinabeachandcountryclub.com/ just 2 ½ miles away. One last shout out. In my haste, I left some items behind in a drawer. Claudia, the property manager, sent the items to my home the next day and would not accept anything as compensation. She made our experience exceptional.

Fantastic rental in the South Shores area of Melbourne Beach

Stayed here for almost three weeks over Christmas '16 and it was exactly what we were looking for: Beachfront, quiet & private, and well-appointed for entertaining family and friends in the area. The house was as-described in the listing, and the owner/agent were extremely responsive and easy to work with. There were a couple of questions and minor things that needed attending to during our stay and the owner's agent was right on top of it. The house layout is great for entertaining with lots of congregating spaces. Between the seating areas and balcony on the main level, beach-side deck and the beach right out front -- even with five adults staying in the house and family and friends visiting -- we never got the feeling of being on top of one another. The house is located in a very lightly developed area 2mi North of the Sebastian Inlet State Park, and is close to a lot nature preserves (Archie Carr Nat'l Wildlife Refuge & Indian River Lagoon Preserve State Park), kayak/canoe and runabout boat rentals at Honest John's Fish Camp, restaurant/convenience store at Longpoint, a local Surf & Sport shop and a great Publix Supermarket 10mi up the beach. Whether you're up for surfing the break out front, or Spanish House or Monster Hole further south, surfcasting, kayaking/paddle boarding with manatees and dolphins around Mullet Creek on the Indian River, bicycling down to the Inlet for bird watching there or in the other sanctuaries, or just relaxing on the beach with a book, I don't think you'll find a better place in the area.
