Great location for downtown shopping and eating, close to campus, with good off-street parking. Rooms were clean and pleasant and comfortable. Instructions from the host were clear and reasonable. Enjoyed my stay!
This was a great home base to have while exploring a new city. Great location, great parking, very clean and tidy. Our host was easily accessible and very helpful when we needed it. Checking in was a little difficult, as the instructions on where to go up the stairs were a little vague. I think a clearer photo of where the stairs are would be helpful for the next guest!
A really nicely pulled together bedroom suite with kitchenette dining table and bathroom. Charming, clean, close to downtown. I would definitely stay here again.
I was attending a music workshop at Smith. I appreciated that this was a short and pleasant walk from where the activities were, giving me a nice break and some exercise. The bed quite comfortable, and having a bathtub is also a big plus for me
what an adorable little apartment! it was clean, cozy, decorated with taste and located very conveniently. communication with xianxiu was easy and friendly. i will definitely try to stay here again the next time I visit!
Right across from Smith, this very cute place housed myself and 2 college age kids.
The kitchenette and amenities were perfect and the air mattress for 3rd guest was very comfortable. 15 miles nuteâs walk into town and a safe, great area .
I was there during a blizzard and was happy there was an off-street parking lot. It and the driveway were plowed/shoveled quickly. However, I needed some instructions how to crank up the heat (I'm from Florida and we rarely use heat). Once I realized there was a valve that needed to be turned, place warmed up nicely. The unit is very cute and there's more room than you'd expect from the description. The kitchenette is actually a nice-sized room with table and chairs, a built-in kitchen sink and enough dishware for simple takeout or microwaved meals. Bedding was comfortable. This is an older house so the stairs from the semi-private entrance to the second-floor apartment are steep if you have luggage to carry. Not impossible by any means but steep. But it's nice to have the entrance off the parking lot side of the house instead of having to walk around to the front. The host was available and helpful.
I really enjoyed staying at Xianxiu's place. It's super cute, it was very clean, and very easy to check in, etc. There is a short set of steps (maybe 10?) leading up to the apartment. The apartment had everything one would need - I even found a blow drier to use! I'm looking forward to staying here again - the location is terrific.
The suite was lovely, cozy, and comfortable, the communication, including clear and specific instructions on finding it, and answered questions with the host, were beyond reproach; we had a chance to speak with her when we crossed paths in the parking lot and had a delightful conversation. The kitchenette was stocked with all the necessities. The only confusion we had was whether the door lock instructions applied to both the entry door and our suite door or just our suite door (itâs both) and we hoped we werenât waking other guests as we tested both doors to be sure they were secure. We will be back.
I was visiting my granddaughter at Smith during family weekend and the location was perfect, right across the street from Paradise Road, a few minutes walk from her apartment. Itâs within easy walking distance of everything on campus and a fairly short walk to town. I didnât rent a car for this trip and walked from the Northampton Amtrak station with no problem. This is the upstairs apartment and the stairs are steep but thereâs a sturdy handrail. The apartment is very comfortable, light and airy during the day and cozy at night. It is unexpectedly dark around the Smith campus and along the driveway leading to the apartment entrance. I wished Iâd tucked a small flashlight in my bag. Xianxiu was responsive and welcoming both before and during my stay. Excellent host. Iâd happily stay here again.
I love the experience of hosting and meeting new people! I am a Smith alumna, and a special education teacher at a local school district. I work during week days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but live in the house - Willow House and will love to meet you between 7 - 8 p.m. Please feel free to knock at our door to say hi, introduce yourself or anything you need. I will also be available in case of emergency during the day. read less
