Recently remodeled home with all the amenities! The home has 4 bedrooms with 5 large beds. The main area has a large open floor plan including a brand new kitchen! The huge yard has beautiful landscaping, with a pathway leading to the patio with an outdoor gas fire pit and plenty of lighting. Convenient location right off of I-69, and close to shopping, Golf courses, and the famous Lake James 4 corners with tons of restaurants and all the lake activities. Pontoon and fishing boats can be rented at nearby marinas, or bring your own watercraft for plenty of fun in the sun. Spend a day cruising the 5 lakes on the James chain, or enjoy the great food from the Galley on the Lake James Sandbar!
We had a family vacation here and had a great time. Close to boat rentals, etc. My only suggestion would be to put additional seating in main room, provide bath towels (not just beach) and clean grill periodically. Otherwise, great value and location!
This property was perfect for our family of 8 and dog friendly too! The house had plenty of room for everyone to comfortably sleep, had a great kitchen to cook, and easy access to Lake James. We also enjoyed the patio with string lights at night. Chris was responsive to any needs we had during the stay. I would definitely recommend his property for any type of group gathering. We really enjoyed our time there!
The house is beautifully redone. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. Owner did a phenomenal job. I just wish we could have worked out the wifi, luckily didn't really spend enough time at the house to need it. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us!
Great location. The rooms were perfect for our group. Bathroom situation not ideal for 8 with only one shower but we made it work! Plenty of Hot Water :) We didnât realize there was only a gas fire pit so we were glad we packed the solo stove! We would for sure stay again. Hoping for less rain next year. Thanks!
The home and property worked well for our small group. 3 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom upstairs
Open Kitchen Living Room Dinnette on the 1st floor.
Laundry ,1/2 bath & bonus sleeping area downstairs.
The house was fairly clean, had some trim & moulding laying around as it seemed there was some projects in the process of being done. The concrete patio area was big enough for table chairs firepit and grill. Overall it went well and a failry clean home considering you can have a pet. Most likely would stay again. Chris - Owner was responsive.
Thank You!
Although about a 100 yard walk to the lake, it has a nice large driveway and yard. Owner was prompt to respond to messages. Contacted the owned about one month prior to stay to clear up confusion about check-in time which was on the property listing as 3pm, but on the property info after booking as 4pm. I mentioned that we would be getting into town around 2-3pm and to please verify check-in time. He indicated that there would be nobody staying at the home the week we checked in and that we could check in at 2pm. We appreciated the accommodation! We arrived at 2:15 to find a car in the driveway. I stuck my head into the house and spoke to the cleaning lady who indicated that she "was just finishing making up the last bed." I told her that was fine and that we were going to walk down to the dock to meet someone who was docking a boat. We came back about 20 minutes later to get our car and the lady was mowing. Upon seeing us, she quit mowing, we thanked her for her work, and she left. The yard was not completely mowed, but that was fine for our needs. The house was generally clean, but the cleaning lady obviously did not have time to finish upon our arrival due to snack crumbs and possible pet hair on the living room floor, dried cheese product on the stove, a small bit of trash in the kitchen can, etc. I am guessing there was just confusion in communication between the owner and the cleaning lady about our check in time. Otherwise, the house was pretty clean with high tech appliances. Directions for how to use some of the appliances may be needed. Tried to use the propane fire pit the first night, but the propane tank appeared to be empty and the tank for the grill appeared to not have much propane either. I'm sure the owner would have promptly rectified this for us the next day, but we were only staying one more night and storms were in the forecast. If staying there with people under the age of 21 years, be aware that there is alcohol sitting out on the kitchen counters that you may want them to stay out of. Refrigerator had condiments in the door that I am assuming the owner wouldn't mind sharing. The freezer was nearly full, however, so plan on only using one shelf for your frozen items. There were minor issues, that I'm sure would have been promptly rectified if they had been a big enough issue for us to contact the owner about. Due to our short stay, we did not see the need to bother the owner though. Overall, we would stay here again!
We enjoyed staying here, and would stay again. This review is to give visitors information to make their vacation more enjoyable. The house is nice, and it was clean. house should have had a vacuum to use, and more indoor furniture. It had a moderate mold smell which fortunately went away after a day, perhaps associated with start up of the central air. The outside back patio is a nice setup, but if you want a fireplace bring your own solo stove. Basically, it's a nice place to stay, but bring your own amenities from home and don't assume there will be things like lawn chairs
The property was as described, host was very quick to get back with any questions we had. Great stay with baseball familyâs for last weekend of baseball
Very clean and updated, it had everything you needed. Christopher was easy to communicate with and very quick responses. We highly recommend this house!
This was my personal home for several years. I have updated it inside and out, and decided to keep it for others to enjoy. The location is very easy to find, not far from the highway and close to many restaurants and shopping areas.
