An imaginative stay in an antique century-old Kumauni house, devoted to prosperous art and inheritance of Uttarakhand. Located in one of the remote villages of Almora district, Deholi and altogether managed & restored by the natives of village Diholi.
- A 111 years old, vintage paradigm of Kumaoni Architecture.
- Pathans from Afghanistan were summoned to design and build this shelter.
- Huge Rosewood, Sal, and Oak Wooden planks installed inside the house were transported back from Ramnagar (104 kilometers) through Bullock Carts.
- The house was uninhabited for the last 60 years.
- This abode was a hidden habitat for several freedom fighters in the course of pre Independence Era.
- Stones used to construct the structure of the house are 10 to 15 feet long and hand carved so neatly that seems kind of impossible in the current time period.
- Doors and Windows of the house have wooden carvings of different gods & animals dating back 100 years.
- As an Indian tradition we do not charge for food from our guests, also we are remote and with a purpose, we do not have a kitchen where you can order À la carte. A lot of our vegetables, fruits, spices, pulses, jams, etc. are grown organically by the villagers in the village only.
