Keep it simple at this extremely peaceful yet centrally-located home away from home. You'll feel the stress melt away as you travel down the gravel road to get to your half of this secluded ranch style duplex. Stare out into the pond as you sip on your coffee and take in the sounds of nature. You'll feel as if you're far from town but you are actually pretty central to Raleigh, Wendell, Knightdale and Zebulon.
Located less than a mile from the sprawling Wendell Falls mega neighborhood, this listing is for one half of a townhouse style duplex known as Hidden Pond Lodge.
They say that the Greater Raleigh area is a really cool spot because you are "about 2 hours from the beach, and 2 hours from the mountains..." SO we took that idea and ran with it! We decorated and furnished this western side of the duplex with "Mountain Vibes" in mind, featuring an array of NC locally sourced decor and artwork reminiscent of a cabin you may find in Asheville, Brevard, or Boone. The other side, respectively, has a "Beachy Getaway" theme, and it looks like a beach cottage with notes of Carolina Beach, The Outer Banks, or Emerald Isle.
NOTE: This property requires a $300 Security Deposit, a Separate Traveler Agreement, and your government-issued ID. More info below, and in the house rules.
You will find plenty of room to stretch out in the living room with two full sized sofas. This unit has 3 good sized bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed and closet space for storing your clothes/items. With 2 full bathrooms, your whole crew will stay out of each other's way. The fully stocked kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you feel like staying in and cooking a meal, and a dishwasher to ease the pain of cleanup. The Eat-in kitchen has a pub style table with seating for 4.
The master bedroom has an ensuite (private bathroom) with a spacious shower with an assortment of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Newly updated and painted home with a covered porch to relax and enjoy some well deserved quiet time! Rustic mountain-themed rooms with new beds, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and everything you need to make this your family's favorite place to stay in the Raleigh area.
Over 2 acres of Waterview land near a tiny hidden unnamed pond that we can look at but can't access. Amazing Views and feel for being less than 2 miles from Publix and other shopping.
It's a Perfect Location to literally get away from it all, and people keep telling us "This place is so peaceful!"
We have a Large Smart TV with Roku, so you can watch NETFLIX, YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu, and more. Free Wi-Fi included!
We are within a few miles of local restaurants and grocery stores, and other attractions, but it feels like you are miles away from regular civilization.

The location was perfect. It did feel very mountainy. My best friend and I stayed here with my mom for a girls weekend. The bedrooms were perfect. It had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing time. It was clean and comfortable. We had an issue with some water on the floor, thinking it was a toilet leak. Our concerns were addressed right away. We will be staying again for our next girls weekend!! Very quiet!!

Convenient to stores and restaurants, yet off the beaten path enough to relax. Check in and check out are extremely easy. Communication is top notch and host responds in a very timely manner. Highly recommend!

Great property, great location, and beautiful views!
It was a nice home However there is only a 1/2 of roll of toilet paper in the whole house. But the house was equipped with everything else as far as shampoo conditioner a body wash even laundry soap. I would stay again and I would recommend just bring your own toilet paper.

We are sad that you didn’t reach out until the very last day of your stay about how you couldn’t find the extra toilet paper. If you would have let us know as soon as you checked in we could have fixed your problem in 5 seconds. This type of review really hurts my soul because there was more than enough toilet paper in the unit. We leave at least 1 extra roll in every bathroom at all times. Additionally, we had over 40 rolls in storage in the closet right outside the unit door. We live only a few minutes down the road and are always able to assist with any needs that arise.

I would stay in this unit again. We had a couple problems that were remedied quickly. This is an old place that’s been remodeled. The bedrooms are up about 6 stairs, the living area is in the lower level. It has what’s needed for most people. I will say, it’s not great for the elderly. Neither the shower nor bath have a grab bar and the surfaces are slippery. That would be a great upgrade. It is on a dirt road, and there’s quite a bit of washout along the sides of the road. It’s navigable with care. Could use some attention. That said - it’s QUIET. Loved that about the place. No street noise at all. There was a deer out back.It’s just a couple minutes to restaurants and the grocery - in town, but feels like the country. The beds were comfortable. The living room furniture was ok, but older.The rental company took a 300 deposit and we are a week out now and it’s not been returned yet.

The access to this property was very poor, down a narrow dirt road with major ruts and dips. One morning I was blocked in by tree trimming trucks so had to drive off the road to get by.
The cleaning fees were way too high.

We call the place Hidden Pond Lodge, because it's hidden in the woods. We provide drone photos of the whole property and surrounding area, along with a picture of nothing but the dirt road, just so we can make sure every guest sees what they are booking. The road is less than a quarter mile, and is smooth dirt/gravel with very little ruts, as you can see in the pictures and description. Our cleaning fees are the lowest in the area, and the cleaning fee is displayed in the listing and checkout pages. The private nature and dirt road are prominently featured in every aspect of the listing including the title "Mountain Vibes at Hidden Pond Lodge." So sorry we weren't able to meet your expectations and we'd love to invite you to try another one of our properties, but kindly ask that you read the listing and examine the photographs so you know what you're getting yourself into.

Not quite as expected
Property is aged and needs some attention. Subfloors have failed in both bathrooms and the hallway making them spongy. Kitchen cookware is old and not sufficient to make a decent meal. Couches are stained, slip covered. Beds are terrible. Host was snarky when my elderly relative struggled with the keyless entry. Internet was spotty and couldn't support the one tv, nevermind phones or laptops. Disappointing.
