If you like rustic cabins with some modern updates, this is the cabin for you! Host was great to work with. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

True upnorth cabin. If you are looking to step back from the busy world and enjoy the simple comforts of a nice bed, hot shower and a beautiful fireplace this is it! Jon was a great host.

Jon is a very gracious host that welcomed us on arrival. He provided everything needed for a quick breakfast and chocolates! The cabin is very rustic and quaint and the shower is fabulous! We spent most of our time on the trails and had a wonderful time, the area is beautiful. The only suggestion I would make is to strenghten the wi-fi but that was a minor issue and to be fair, we had bad storms come thru. We would love to stay here again! Thanks for the hospitality!

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at the Buckwild cabin! We arrived after dark and were pleasantly greeted with a nicely prepared fire in the fireplace. It wasn't long before the cabin was warm on the cool October evening. The cabin is heated by 2 portable heaters as well and it was very comfortable within minutes. The aroma of the cabin bought back memories of an old cabin I used to go to in Canada as a kid. A mixture of old wood, fireplace and an abundance of well-prepared meals. I was in heaven! We met Jon and discussed our plans, and he pointed out several options. We spent most of our time walking the nearby trails and enjoying the fall colors. Jon is a great host, and his place is a treasure. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable, and the hot showers were appreciated. Old-school hand-crafted wood furniture adds to the charm. The kitchen is suitable for making great meals. GREAT memories were made here by many, and I am glad that we could make our own. We hope to be back soon!!

We had a Great time at this Cabin! The location is perfect and easy to find. The beds are comfy and the kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. The host is welcoming, has real-time communication and makes the stay feel like home. We look forward to returning!!

Thanks so much for recognizing our improvements to this diamond in the rough. We hope to see you 2 again.....And by the end of this week there will be a new on demand hot water tank....no more 4 minute showers! and by the time we see you again we may even have the clawfoot tub installed and operational... Weekend away.

Had a great time riding the trails and enjoying some of the local festivities. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Cabin was very quiet and cozy but still close to town and the trails. Thanks for a great stay.

Jonathan was a very attentive host. The cabin cute and cozy is perfect.Centrally located to enjoy all that Mio has to offer. We highly recommend Buckwild Cabin for your getaway. Our fur baby was made to feel welcomed. We will be back again.

The cabin was roomy. The bathroom was up to date with great water pressure. The cabin is located just outside of Mio and is not far from many attractions. The host was knowledgeable of the area and was nice.

Cabin was exactly as described, loved the rustic feel, knotty pine interior and stone fireplace. My girlfriend and I along with our dog Ollie loved the property and the area. Jonathan was a great host and fantastic river guide. Will be back next year with a side x side in tow. Great area for hiking, canoeing, bikes and side x sides.

Great meeting place for a weekend with old friends

Visited the Buckwild cabin in Mio to meet with old friends. Enjoyed local activities, but also enjoyed many hours around the cabin's camp fire. Nice and cozy cabin. Welcoming and very communicative host. Great weekend.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful rustic cabin. Everything was spotless, and the cozy décor made us feel right at home. The host was incredibly communicative and friendly, making check‑in and planning seamless. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night! We’re already planning to come back during mushroom season and in the summer for a canoe adventure. This cabin offered the perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm, and the host’s hospitality made it even more special. Highly recommend!

Long Weekend

It was a rustic and relaxing setting. The neighbor across the road was very friendly and made our children and us feel welcomed. A good break to disconnect and relax for a couple of days.

2024 Trike bash at Bull Gap

This is a quaint rustic cabin reminicent of early 20th century. Nice and quiet on the edge of a northern Michigan town named Mio. The host is top notch and attentive to every need and question from his guests.

Anniversary Getaway

I rented for my parents 50th Anniversary. They absolutely loved the location and the cabin. They love rustic, quiet places with the up north feel. They said it was a comfortable and peaceful stay. The property was beautiful and they loved the smell of the pines. Lot's of walking trails and things to do in nature. The host was incredibly accommodating and made them feel welcome. Thank you for providing a wonderful weekend for my parents!
