The lower unit was wonderful! Just perfect for all of our needs. My husband and I loved the beautiful lake view and the time we spent watching families and individuals enjoying walks and other outdoor activities from the rocking chair porch. We really needed this time or rest and reflection.
Arriving to church bells chiming was an amazing feeling. That feeling did dissipate partially when the first interaction onsite was with renters in the upper unit having taken all 4 available parking spots with their 2 vehicles. Granted, they did move, but it was not without raised voices, and an uncomfortable tension. As suggested, I would recommend creating designated spots for each unit so that there is no confusion.
The home is old, and furniture definitely dated, but still cozy. Some upgrades are needed, and there were some damaged pieces, and tears in the furniture.
I am currently in a chair or hobbling on crutches due to an ankle injury and appreciate that this home was MOSTLY ADA accessible. Granted, getting in without crutches would have been impossible, but once in, I could maneuver the main living room, hallway, and bathroom using the chair. All else required crutches; the kitchen and bedroom doors were too narrow. Also, the subfloor of this home is not a flat level surface, definitely soft and wavey in some areas.
The grounds are amazing, and the view from the porch is amazing.
The house was in a perfect location for all of the Lake Junaluska activities we participated in. Great view of the lake and so convenient to Stewart auditorium and Harrell Center. The house itself was a little older than expected. Clean, but dusty on some shelves and counters. The kitchen was adequate, as was the bathroom. Bed was a little soft. Overall we enjoyed being there, but like I said, the house, furniture, etc. was older.
The stay was great and the property was very cozy and comfortable. All the amenities included plus some, for a hassle free stay. I did have a slight "hiccup" when checking in. The instructions sent did not mentioned the access code as a lock box with the door keys in them. After finally reaching the CSR (who was very helpful too), the actual property owner called back directly within about 5 minutes to let me know that the security code opens up the actual lock box for keys; not the door itself. I would highly recommend this property.
