We thoroughly enjoyed our stay to ATL. Marlon was an excellent communicator and anything we asked was answered immediately. The house has a massive backyard with basketball hoop and porch that was very nice. Rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. Would stay again!
I don't generally take the time to write reviews, but I am with this one because reviews are important in making decisions like these.
My husband and I chose this property to host Christmas for our family. Having an open concept floor plan and kitchen was important because while we were cooking we didn't want to be isolated from the family.
Unfortunately, we were hit with Winter Storm Elliott and didn't arrive until 9am the next day of our 4 night stay. The owner did not accommodate us by refunding or even partially refunding the day we missed due to no fault of our own.
Once we arrived to the property it looked abandoned from the outside. Leaves were everywhere including piled up in the driveway where we parked the car. Check in was smooth and easy as we just followed the instructions.
Once inside, we were in for a surprise. The home is very old. The pictures depict a more modern home but that wasn't the case. The home is in desperate need of an interior paint job and the hardwood floors need refurbished. The furniture is very very old and some pieces were badly stained. The furniture sits low to the ground and guests had to roll off the couches to get up.
Because of the storm, it was abnormally cold in the city and the house. Because it's an older home it took a while to warm up and it was drafty. I kept turning the heat on the highest temperature, someone on the owner's side kept turning it down to 70 something. My family members were cold and kept their coats on the entire day's visit. I had to boil water in 2 pots and turn on the oven to generate heat.
The water pressure was low and it took a while for the water to get hot. It doesn't get really hot, just really warm.
There's not a lot of window coverings which in itsself isn't bad, however because the neighborhood has a lot of "walkers" I would have preferred more privacy.
In the kitchen the blinds are transparent that you can see straight through them from the outside in the dark hours. The same blinds are in the master bathroom and makes taking a shower at night impossible because of the lack of privacy. I didn't like that.
There's only 1 TV in the whole house. There needs to be TVs in the bedrooms or other places.
I asked the owner if there was a BBQ grill and he replied yes, we'll be the first to use it. When we got there it was still in the box not set up.
The master bed was comfortable. All of the rooms were spacious and the owner replied quickly to other situations.
We really enjoyed this house...it has lots of space for families with a few kids or even groups of grownup friends (up to 3 couples) to use as a home base while exploring the Atlanta area. It was cute, well-kept, and the rooms are spread out in a way that makes it easy to get some individual quiet time/privacy if needed. The bedding/pillows were nice & very comfortable - always a plus! And it was easy to get into the parts of Atlanta we were checking out while we were in town.
I've been using VRBO for many years now and our stay here was great from start to finish.
The check-in/out process was smooth, house was clean upon arrival, plenty of seating throughout the house, comfortable beds, well furnished kitchen and a wonderful private backyard where you can wind down after a long day out in town.
The only thing I would loved to have had were TV's with newer chromecast or Roku devices in each bedroom and slightly faster internet that can handle multiple devices better.
I look forward to possibly staying here again and would love to see if the basement being remodeled currently (not during our stay though) will turn into a game room or some type of home theater room for guests to use during their stay!
Overall, I highly recommend this property and Marlon as a host! Thank you for a comfortable and safe place to call home during our weekend away.
I like to entertain and meet cool and interesting people. Being a host allows me to have the ability to have more of these experience. I have a wonderful space, and I would like to share it with other.
This is a quiet diverse neighborhood which is within walking distance to Historic Westview Cemetery and the Lionel Hampton Trail that connects to the Beltline. We're just a few minutes from restaurants and cafes in the west end, downtown Atlanta, west midtown, and so much more!
