Raw sewage backup
Day 1, arrived to 85 deg house, master bedroom fan not working and master bathroom toilet not flushing.
Day 2 discovered both downstairs shower drains are slow and back up and when I communicated to the owner, they already knew and said we shouldnât use them. Found we had to use a spoon handle to reach between counter and dishwasher to push the button to start it because it is installed too far under the counter. Filtered water faucet on kitchen sink is turned off and doesnât work. Flood lights for pool donât work and neither does light in pool, so evening swimming is in the dark. Thermostat was programmed to adjust to 85 each morning at 8 a.m. One of the downstairs bathroom door handles broke off when door stuck closed due to door frame wood routing and swelling from previous water damage. Dishwasher rack is rusted through.
Day 5, both downstairs showers had sewage with crap flow up out of the drains into the shower stalls. Owner has septic serviced 4 hours later and finds itâs not the septic tank but a blockage and refuses to call out a plumber. Owner says just donât use downstairs bathrooms and refuses any additional credit since they credited us on day2 for not being able to use downstairs showers. VRBO refused to help or give us a hotel since we only had one day left.
We also had bugs dead or dying all over daily. Roaches, millipedes and ants. They would die, so the place has been sprayed but is poorly sealed since so many get in.
