Apartment attached to a 200 year old farmhouse with views of the river, gardens, and our sweet farm animals. Only 20 minutes to Burlington and close to ski areas and bike paths. Porch on front and back with comfy seating area. We offer a grill, fire pit, and an outdoor pizza oven. Private access to the river for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Private yoga classes available on the docks or in the gardens. If you are looking for comfort and tranquility this is the property for you.
Nice clean, well equipped apartment. Right across the street from a private dock on the Lamoille River. The 3 large goats on the property provided some wonderful comic relief.
Things we enjoyed during our stay:- Beautiful back view of goat pen. Cute hens roam around the farm.- Pleasant table and kitchen areas, with plenty popular/famous books to read.- Consistent quiet.- Good location for visiting tourist spots; close to I-89 and less than 30 min from Burlington.- The property owners were very nice during our brief interactions and didn't impose at all.- Cleanup at the end of our stay was simple.Details for future visitor to consider:- The well water which can smell/taste off-putting to the unacclimated (like us). If you're used to city water, I suggest bringing a water filter or bottled water to drink.- The bathroom door is a permeable slatted door just in front of the bed. While my partner and I are close, we still appreciate a standard level of privacy in the bathroom and would have preferred a more sound/sight blocking door.Things the host may want to consider:- It seems that the couch needs a vacuum and stain check/removal in between guests. Upon our arrival, there were questionable white stains on the left seat cushion (see picture) which could not be removed with a wet paper towel. There was also a mixture of pet hair/lint/crumbs on the couch that we tried to clean off.- The shower could use a bath mat. The shower rim appears to be accumulating some mold due to water runoff during use (see picture). We laid down a towel on the ground while using the shower to try to mitigate puddles accumulating.
Really beautiful property, especially if you like wild birds and watching their chickens and goats. Tidy little apartment had all we needed. Very approachable hosts.
The space is great, lots of room to relax through the open dining area, living room, and kitchen. Great light and a view of the goats out back. Very neat, bathroom had been cleaned. Easy check in and parking.
Perfect Vermont stay! This spot has everything you need to get stuck in a blizzard from a comfy bed to a table to puzzle at while watching their goats. Jessica & Chad made us feel right at home, and even snowblowed a long trail around their property for us to walk our dog through two feet of snow! Talk about true hospitality. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to be within 20 mins to Burlington or simply to enjoy some winter farm comfort. Thanks again J & C!
The farmhouse was just as cozy and inviting as pictured. Itâs rustic charm, open layout, and beautiful natural surroundings make the space feel warm. Hannaford nearby for groceries, 20 mins to downtown Burlington, and plenty of snow activities in the area. The hosts were friendly and very responsive. We enjoyed our weekend getaway here.
This apartment was a great find close to both skiing and Burlington. Cute farmhouse decor, clean, and bright sunny windows to watch nature outside. Host was responsive, friendly, and helpful. Dog friendly stay which is always a plus. Will be back!
We enjoyed our time here. Peaceful setting with beautiful views all around. Fun to look out back and see the goats and chickens! A little more on the rustic side, but we expected that. We had everything we needed. Plenty of towels and supplies were provided. Everything worked the way it was supposed to. Great base for exploring Lake Champlain Islands. The hosts were friendly and responded quickly when we contacted them. If youâre looking for a country retreat experience, this is it!
Very unique farm house experience complete with goats chickens wild flowers bird feeders the host gave us homade applesauce and some Ben and Jerryâs ice cream She had some good suggestions for things to do in the area There is a river across the road and we were able to watch the Crew team from a local school row There were kayaks available as well The only negative was the TV would drop its streaming randomly. The bed was comfortable We would recomend this place if you donât want cookie cutter hotel rooms and want a bit of farm culture this is it
This is such a happy, comfortable and relaxing place. It had everything we needed, There are flowers everywhere. We laughed out loud watching the goats play.
Chad is born and raised in Vermont, I have been here for close to 17 years. We love the property for so many reasons, the tranquility, the landscape, and the beautiful energy that surrounds us. We have recently added goats, ducks and chickens. Our flower and veggie gardens are bountiful. They're all very sweet and quite entertaining. This home is also associated with UVM rowing and local rowers. During the rowing season you will see students and locals out on the river training. We love our home and truly enjoy sharing it with others.
