The location is wonderfully isolated. Antique furniture is amazing. Ed tried to give us wonderful reception with a tour but we had rough day and didnât arrive until very late. He provided us with bread, wine, cheese, and other foods which was great. The VRBO website leaves out the information that check in is between 3-8.
I left England for France 20 years ago and have renovated La CalĂšcherie and Maison Ruth using traditional and sympathetic ecologically-friendly methods and materials to produce a comfortable place to retreat with modern comforts.
La CalĂšcherie is ideally situated in the small enclave of St Martin de Montbray where there is the church of St Martin and several houses in a rural setting.
The property offers the opportunity to simply relax or to visit local points of interest; the D-Day beaches, Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St Michel, Villedieu les PoĂȘles are all within easy reach.
La CalĂšcherie incorporates an ancient cider press that I have renovated; I am now rejuvenating the orchards and making cider that guests are welcome to sample.
La CalĂšcherie is furnished mainly with antique and vintage items that we have restored.
