Beautiful Lake House for year round (4 season home) Short Term Rentals. (Inquire for Long Term - Inquire for shorter / weekend rentals during winter months.) Situated on beautiful Pine Bay, Lake Superior, a short drive from Thunder Bay. 1800 sq ft home with 2 bedrooms (upstairs) 1 king bed, 1 queen. Futon in library on main floor (queen). 2 newly renovated bathrooms. Full kitchen, large dining area and BBQ. Large windows to take in the gorgeous view. Large wrap around deck, fire pit, patio tables, chairs, hot tub and sauna. Sunroom and laundry. Clear water and shallow bay for swimming. Clean beach area to relax and soak in the sun. Minutes to hiking trails. 30 minutes from Thunder Bay city centre for mainstream amenities (grocery, fuel, restaurants, coffee shops). Maximum capacity 6.

Incredible lakeshore setting. It was very nicely furnished. Well equipped kitchen The deck on the front was phenomenal for looking at the lake. We were able to enjoy some passing wildlife. The hosts were great.And left us alone for a very peaceful vacation.It's incredibly quiet

Canada vacation

Very relaxing stay. Beautiful views of the bay. Only complaint is that it rained for 3 days & we couldn’t enjoy sitting out on the large front deck! Cools off nice in the evenings & enjoyed the hot tub.

Fantastic cabin, dreamy location, wonderful host

Our family was very impressed with this cabin! The views were stunning! The large west-facing windows and deck provided the perfect view of sunsets over the lake, the fog blanketing the hills and the lightning as it rained. The cabin is clean, modern and cozy. The host was quick to respond, attentive to detail and accommodating to our needs. The location is quaint and secluded, close enough to the sightseeing locations of Thunder Bay but far enough to feel like we got away.

Private and homey

Our family of 5 truly enjoyed our week in area, hiking and exploring new paths/ waterfalls every day (including James Duncan Trail that is close to cabin), visiting Fort Williams, picking amethyst, checking out Thunder Bay shops and food. The cabin was a perfect home-base to relax, cook, and hang out in nature. Enjoyed the flowers and plants in the large yard. It had everything we needed, enjoyed the hot tub, didn’t use the sauna. Very relaxing and appreciated our stay at Doug and Lucy’s Lake House!

Pine Bay paradise.

Perfect place for a family vacation. Safe shallow beach area and sauna and hot tub to warm up after swimming and paddle boarding. Clean modern spacious house with every convenience. Prompt communication with our host and lots of little extras are provided. Overall just fantastic for adults and children.

Very relaxing.

My wife and I stayed there 6 nights and had a great time. The weather overall wasn't the greatest but that didn't affect our stay. The home was wonderful, the views amazing and it provided the quiet and peace we needed. Thank you!

Amazing stay!

We loved our time at Lucy and Doug’s place! It was clean and had everything we needed. We loved all the windows so we could take in beautiful Lake Superior. The sauna and hot tub were used often and our kids had fun going into the lake after to cool off. Lucy responded right away with any questions we had. Thanks for a great visit ~ we will be back!

Amazing lakefront home

Beautiful property - clean and well-appointed. Everything you need for a family. Waterfront and deck ideal to take in views (sometimes even the Northern Lights!). Lucy was very helpful and responded quickly to answer our questions. Highly recommend!

First trip to Canada

We brought our family of seven on our first international trip and had a great experience. It would have been good to note in the listing that the nearest grocery is almost an hour away, we lived the quiet, the view and the lake! The house was exactly as shown and we can wait to visit again.

My New Favorite Place

This was the perfect place for my family to vacation. Everything was as pictured, clean, quiet area, friendly neighbors and the host was easy to contact with any questions. Thunder Bay is a drive, but we planned accordingly so it wasn't an issue. We spent nine days here, half of the time we spent doing things Thunder Bay and the other half we spent at the house. There was so much for all of us to do and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. If we are in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. Lucy, thank you so much for being such a generous host!

Lake Superior Retreat

Property was just as pictured! Everything was super easy upon checking in. There were plenty of towels for use of the sauna, lake, hot tub, and all the linens were nice and clean. It was the weekend after may long so the weather is always questionable but the indoor wood fireplace made things nice and cozy when the weather would take a turn, and the bay is perfect for wading/swimming when the sun came out! Great sandy Bay and since it was pretty shallow it was "warm" for Lake Superior. Lucy was great at communicating throughout our stay. Definitely a perfect spot for a group or friend getaway, and not too far from tbay if you needed to run into town.

This Place & Host are AMAZING 5 stars stay!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this wonderful lake front. We liked it so much, we didn’t want to leave, we decided to contact the Host to see if we could stay one more night. She was very accommodating and we stayed the extra night, it was the cherry on top to our week long vacation. The view of the lake and sky are breathtaking. My husband and I 100% recommend this place and will try to go back in the next years to come. If you are considering to be away from a busy city and enjoy tranquility, don’t look anywhere else, this place is a gem. We got lucky to see two nights in a row the Northern Lights. Thank you, Lucy and Doug for being such great hosts and sharing your delightful place with us. Until next time 😄🍁

Lake House at Pine Bay

First off the host Lucy was great to communicate and deal with and made an exception for us to bring our “whole” family. It’s very assuring when you are dealing with someone that is attentive to getting back to you quickly. The accommodations itself met all our needs and had all the things you would hope at a family cottage like a sauna, hot tub, fire pit and large lake facing deck. What really sets the property apart however is that it in a quiet and remote setting with beautiful view of Pine Bay. If you are into kayaking, paddle boarding or boating it is ideal as the bay is sheltered from Lake Superior. There is a free boat launch and the James Duncan nature trail if you like to hike. The actual location is only 45 minutes to Thunder Bay and 20 minutes from the US border making it easy to day trip in either direction. Would highly recommend the Lake House to anyone staying in the area who would like a lovely place to kick back and relax with family. Thanks Lucy

Peaceful and Relaxing

Wonderful location - beautiful views! Lucy was very responsive and we enjoyed a relaxing autumn getaway. We loved the bonfires and the scenery. Hiking trails nearby. Would definitely return!

Beautiful getaway close to town!

A beautiful home on a gorgeous lakeside spot was the perfect getaway for us. Sitting on the deck drinking my tea while enjoying the fall colours and lake view, listening to the birds and squirrels, was pretty much perfection. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working when we stayed but we really enjoyed the sauna and going in the lake (which was not as frigid in early Oct as expected!). Close to Pidgeon River Provincial Park, we took in hiking there a couple times. Fabulous location. The house itself looks newly renovated with everything up-to-date (new appliances, showers, etc.) and very clean. Lucy was a responsive host, helping us troubleshoot any little issues or questions quickly. Hope to be back!

Beautiful days even with rain at the Lake house’

We loved it, was a magical place even with the rain . The mists and fog rolled in making views just as breathtaking as the sunsets on the sunny days we got. Was so relaxing and Lucy was amazing answering any questions I had as this was my first Vrbo rental. Hope to come back and stay again next year. Highly recommend this property!

Serene Lake Home Retreat

Lucy was extremely helpful acquainting us with local restaurants and recreation! The home was very comfortable and the bay was perfect for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Lovely views! There was access to a fantastic nature trail just 2 miles down the road and other equally beautiful hiking trails nearby. Bring your food and outdoor gear and plan to spend all your time relaxing, playing and enjoying the great outdoors!
