Beautiful new home at Kentucky Lake with community pool! Close to Murray State!

Welcome to Heron's Rest! Our new single-story home on Kentucky lake is situated on a private wooded 2 acre lot just 0.9 miles to the boat launch with screened back porch, outdoor fire pit, and boat parking area. We are in the Western Shores subdivision which is a 1,218 acre waterfront community located just outside of Murray, Kentucky on Kentucky Lake. It offers year round activities to include a community pool/hot tub, wooded nature trails, and private boat slips that are available on a first-come basis . Enjoy fishing and water sports in the Summer and hiking the nature trails in the Fall. If you are looking for a quiet escape you found it! Our home is located 2 hours from Nashville, one hour from Paducah and 15 minutes from the outdoor activities of Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the two guestrooms each have two full size beds. There are a total of five beds in the house. ïżŒ

Heron's Rest was the perfect spot for a lakeside getaway with friends. The house is beautiful with a large porch, and the fire pit was nice too. The pool is a short drive from the property, but was more than manageable. Highly recommend booking a stay here.

Girls Weekend Getaway

Annual girls trip. We came across this Gem on VRBO. Absolutely stunning ! We had an amazing time and will definitely be back . The owners are fabulous! The area is breathtaking and there is so much to see . Will definitely come back!

Beautiful Home

We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean, beautiful, and exactly as advertised. The area was quiet with lots of wildlife. We saw deer, and bison at the ranch next door. The community pool was perfect for the hot weather we had during our stay. Couldn't have asked for better accommodations.

Sibling Vacation

Our stay was three sibling and 2 spouses in our 50's. The property and house was amazing and we loved it. It was beautiful, fresh, and clean. The screened in back porch with fans and the cloud like mattresses were the best! Thank you!

Best stay ever

This is one of the most beautiful houses we have ever stayed at. Everything was excellent! We grilled almost every night and enjoyed the fire pit. The kitchen had everything we needed. The area was amazing. People in the area were friendly. I hope to stay again next year.

Fabulous Getaway

If I could give this location more than 5 stars, I would! The house was beautiful and looked like something out of a Chip and Joanna Gaines episode! We walked around when we got there and oohed and aahed over every detail we saw. Our favorite spots were the bed swing on the front porch and the firepit (super comfortable chairs!). We always ate our dinner on the back porch at the nice long farmhouse table. The area was super quiet and so peaceful with just one neighbor across the street. We rented a pontoon boat at Lynnhurst Family Resort one day (about 20 minutes from the house) and spent several days at the subdivision pool (3.5 miles from the house). It's a gradual incline entrance pool with an awesome view of Kentucky Lake. Also enjoyed the hot tub. Each time we were the only ones at the pool. Very nice facility. I messaged Wendy (the owner) a couple of times with questions I had and received an almost immediate response to my questions. Very efficient. All we had to do when we checked out was take out the trash and lock the door. No starting a load of laundry, dishwasher or stripping the beds. Loved that part (ha!). This was a group of girls who had not been together since 2019 and this was a very much needed vacation together. Memories were made, tears were cried and laughter was loud! I've already told several people about this house. This house will always be on my "return list"!

This home was beautiful, clean and great for our family. We met our daughters, sons in law and our 11th old grandson for a short vacation. The property was so well maintained and clean, we had no worries regarding his health or safety. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep and clean up a breeze. The community pool was absolutely wonderful. All of the amenities both inside and outside made relaxing and family time absolutely special. Our hosts were informative, accessible and very friendly. We would highly recommend this property and we’re already planning our stay for Summer 2026!

We 4 golden girls go on vacation every year. This house was very comfortable, clean, nicely laid out. It was a little far from town, and the pool, but that was okay. Maybe needs a few more cooking utensils. Communication with the owner was prompt and helpful. Overall great place.

Beautiful Home

Heron Rest is a beautiful home. It is new, clean, and well appointed. We have stayed at many properties at Kentucky Lake over the years and this was, by far, the best. The indoor space is very comfortable. The bed setup gave six adults ample space to be comfortable. The back screened in porch is incredible with a gorgeous ravine view. The massive front porch made for great front porch sittin’ with a nice cup of coffee. The location in Western Shores was great - the dock was easy enough to get to that we could easily go back and forth as needed. The Daugherty’s were great to work with. They proactively communicated details and updates in advance of our stay and their check-out expectations were wonderfully simple. We will absolutely be back.

Girl's Weekend

This house was beautiful. It was new and everything was spotless. The grounds were very nice. It was perfect for our girl's weekend. We used the clubhouse pool. The view was fantastic.
