Tails Up Retreat is a fantastic getaway for both outdoors enthusiasts and families alike!

Location: Situated in the Glacial Lakes Region of NE South Dakota, few blocks from downtown Webster, and approximately 50 miles from Aberdeen or Watertown.

Property Features:

Heated Garage: Perfect for storing gear or as parking space, equipped with a large TV and amenities for drying hunting and fishing gear.

Game and Fish Cleaning Shack: A 12' x 20' heated shack in the backyard for preparing your day's catch.

Outdoor Dining: Covered deck with a counter height patio table and cooking facilities including a Blackstone and Traeger grill.

Firepit Area: A concrete patio with Adirondack chairs and a Solostove, ideal for relaxing around a campfire (firewood available locally).

Interior:

Living Space: A large living room with a 65" smart TV and comfortable seating, including recliners.

Kitchen: Fully stocked and modernized, featuring a coffee bar with locally roasted coffee, and an eat-in area with seating for 4.

Bedrooms: Two bedrooms on the main level with a shared Jack and Jill bathroom. Basement serves as a master suite with a king bed and full bathroom.

Additional Amenities: Washer and dryer available in the basement, memory foam mattresses on all beds.

Pet Friendly: Fenced yard for dogs, and outdoor kennel available. Respectful dogs are welcome inside the house, and there is a outdoor kennel behind the garage.

Safety and Convenience: Large safe in the entryway for storing firearms or valuables.

Great place to stay!

Great place to stay! Has everything of home and more! Very very convenient to get to from where we were fishing! The house is very clean and has lots of room for of our stuff! Sam is great to work with! This was our third time in four years. Was great every year!

Does not disappoint

Super clean and quiet. Fresh paint, very well stocked with everything. Kitchen was fully stocked. No amenity was spared. Amazing property. Easily, this was the best VRBO we've ever stayed at.

Great accommodations for our ice fishing experience in Webster SD

We had an awesome experience staying at the Tails Up Retreat property. Everything was spot-on as described in the description, only better! The host was very responsive to any questions or needs that we may have had. We will be staying with them again on our next South Dakota fishing excursion.

We had a wonderful stay at Tails Up! Ages ranged from grandfather to an 11 year old and our hunting dogs. The place was so clean! They provide amazing coffee and hot chocolate for the kiddos! Loved being able to turn the dogs out in a fenced in backyard!

Great Home Base for Hunt Camp

Goes above expectations. The house is a great layout and hangout for a hunt or fish camp. Centrally located in Webster to spring off to wherever your adventures take you. Very comfortable accommodation and place to watch games and cook dinner. Love the Blackstone and Traeger. Thoughtful game cleaning shack with all the paper towels and ziplocks you need. Huge heated garage to park your truck or boat in. Laundry to clean your clothes too. We stayed 4 nights for a pheasant trip and had a blast. Thank you very much.

So pleasant

While the interior truly met our needs, the outside space was wonderful if you travel with a four-legged friend! She got to enjoy the fenced in back yard while we fished and then we enjoyed our time on the deck. The garage was perfect for our truck and boat and made it so easy to get out on the water in the morning. We loved this place. The interior was as comfortable!

Extremely nice place for our group of fishermen

By far the cleanest, most efficient place we’ve ever stayed! The owners have thought of everything to make this place comfortable and great. The on site fish cleaning station is super handy and the garage and driveway are set up nice for boat parking. The owner responded immediately to any questions we had. We will definitely stay here again!

Greay stay in Webster SD

Impressed with the cleanliness, quality of furniture and bedding. Outdoor patio was a place we loved to sit after a day of fishing. Neighbors were very friendly and was a quiet neighborhood. This property was close to many lakes with it being just an easy short drive. Loved the little touches the owners do as in the glasses they give for a gift for booking with them, the beef sticks in the fridge and a lot of useful information. The coffee offered was another favorite. Communication with the owners was excellent and we would most definitely stay here again.

Great stay will all the amenities

A small group stayed at the Tails Up Retreat for a ice fishing trip. The house, garage, and cleaning shed had everything we needed and more. The amenities are amazing and all the facilities are very clean and well kept. We will be looking at availability and hoping to book for future ice fishing trips.

Outstanding Experience!!

Our stay at tails up retreat was better than we could have expected! The place was clean, very well kept, modern and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and the amenities plentiful. Sam the owner, was very accommodating to anything we needed. Even when we had truck issues and we’re late to our checkout time, he worked around our schedule. This place left a great impression of South Dakota on a couple of Michiganders who had never been. Hats off to these guys, we will definitely be back!

A Great Place to Stay

My wife and I had a great stay at Tails Up Retreat. Everything was very clean and organized and the App they sent ahead explained everything you need to know in great detail, so we had no issues on our trip. The host was very responsive to any questions we had. The house was very clean and is very well lit in every room. The fenced yard was great for our dogs and the town of Webster is a nice quiet town with friendly people. Highly recommend.

5 Stars… loved staying in your beautiful home

We were only in town for a few days and we’re looking for a more homey atmosphere than staying at a hotel/motel, this property was perfect for our needs with everything you can imagine available at our fingertips, incredible, comfortable beds, beautiful kitchen. really enjoyed working with our host. We are a local Webster family and hope to offer you a clean, quality, and comfortable stay while you visit the area. Sam works in product development for a corn genetics company and Olivia works in animal health. Sam spends quite a bit of his time on the road for work so he understands the importance of feeling at home while traveling. Our daughter, Elaina, was born in July of 2021 and provides us with our daily dose of smiles and laughs as her sweet personality shines. Our son, Elliott, was born in November of 2023 and continues to bring us joy everyday. We enjoy getting to know our guests and providing quality, warm hospitality in the Webster area.
