A quaint ranch theme apartment in downtown Monte Vista, Colorado. The upstairs of the building was originally a boarding house in the 1880s. The main level has served as a restaurant & cafe, drug store, frame shop, fabric store and autism clinic over the past 140 years. The 2nd level has been renovated into two apartments with old west charm honoring our farm & ranch heritage.
We stayed at the The Loft because of its location to the Monte Vista Wildlife Preserve and the historic building it is located in. We also went to South Fork to cross country ski at their local groomed trails. A stop in Del Norte for some Elk meat. All in all we had a great visit, did some hiking around La Garita. Will definitely return for more adventures from the Loft!
My friend and I enjoyed this downtown vacation apartment in an old Western (remodeled) boarding house. It was right across the street from a great steak house and, on the same block, as friendly bar, where we enjoyed chatting with locals and specialty cocktails. It is next door to the movie theater too, where we watched a film. The neighborhood nearby was a pleasant place to stroll. The apartment is roomy for two people with comfortable furnishings. All in all it was a great place to call home during our visit to the beautiful San Luis valley.
I loved the location of this apartment! It waa so bice being walking distance from the downtown area and across the street from a nice little bar/pub/coffee shop. Very clean, good appliances, good water pressure, nice furniture, excellent wifi!, yep it was great! I'll stay here again.
