Traditional Valletta Maltese Maisonette in a superb location
Perfectly situated on Battery street just between the Grand Harbour Hotel and the beautiful Upper Baraka Gardens. There is a half bathroom with the sofa bed on the main floor and the second floor you find the bedroom with en suite bathroom and a small balcony.
We had no idea we'd be in such a perfect location in Valletta! Just a walk away from touristy locations as well as yummy local food. If we could buy that place and live in it forever we would! :)
Perfect location for Valletta and ferries, quiet neighbourhood but close to centre.
Great spot for a couple, loved the stone walls and traditional feel of the property. Simon's communication was exceptional throughout our stay, super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
A beautiful house located perfectly in the heart of Valletta. The stone home is over 400 years old and has all the beauty and character you'd expect in Valletta. Easily walkable to the sights of the capital and a wonderful base from which to travel about the island. The communications with the building manager was thorough and immediate. We loved this location!
This is an impressive property. Our only problem was that we did not have checkin information when we left home. Our phones did not work even with sim cards. Our taxi left us at the wrong place. A God sent Samaritan helped us home. We had 8 great wonderful nights once we were in it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Location is perfect for exploring Valletta , a stoneâs throw from Upper Barrakka Gardens and a 5 minute walk to the main area for a big choice of restaurants and bars.
You can also easily get to the harbour to hop onto the ferries that go to Gozo and the â3 citiesâ across Valletta harbour by using the lift in Barrakka Gardens which is only a few minutes walk.
The property was as described and clean and tidy on our arrival. Trudy , who looks after the property, was super helpful , whenever we had a query.
Highly recommended
We were happy with our stay in the Valletta "maisonette." The location was very good although we were not quite prepared for the hilly approach. The street itself is down at the end of a hill and then back up on a hill and when it rains, as it did just once, can be slippery. We found a better route than the directions we were given and that made our walk easier. Our hosts were responsive to our needs, the bed was comfortable and we can recommend this listing for your stay in Valletta.
The house is located in a quiet side street, but only a few minutes walk from the centre of Valletta and all its restaurants and attractions. Bus station is also close by, so we were able to get around the island on the excellent network. House was clean and had everything we needed, and a welcome pack of milk, juice, water and croissants was appreciated. Lovely traditional building. If you arrive early with luggage, as we did, the Upper Barakka Gardens are shady and pretty with a snack bar, and are just around the corner from the house. We did suffer from mosquitoes during the night, so take repellent and cream!
Ideal location to immerse yourself in the Valletta experience with Battery guns and numerous church bells in close proximity to remind you of the time plus easy access to the main streets and fast ferries etc
This traditional massionette in old Valetta oozes Malta. Being in a street with residents provides a very small insight into Maltese life.
The location is perfect with the Battery and Gardens at the top of the street. Restaurants and food market a short walk as is access to ferries and the bus terminal.
We had a brilliant experience staying in this traditional Valletta terrace house. I actually do not think the location could have been any better - it was 10 mins walk from the bus station, 5 mins from the Gozo fast ferry and 5-10 mins from every museum and restaurant in the Valletta old town. The space itself is comfortable and large - perfect for a couple or a group of three (or two couples, at a stretch). Simon was always on-hand to answer questions. I will recommend this accommodation to any family and friends coming to Malta. Book it now!
Our rental was in a perfect property in the tourist part of the old city, having amenities like a well-equipped kitchen, bath and a half, and a lot of character. Trudy was very kind to let us leave our luggage early and gave us some tips on grocery shopping nearby. Our only complaint is that we really needed her to explain how to unlock the very ancient door to our abode. It was quite a trick that the neighbors had to help us three times to get in. I am sure next time she will explain and demonstrate for visitors just how to push the key in while pulling the door in to release the latch. We were just struggling with that. Otherwise, everything went very well.
Trudy is from the UK and manages the property; she is originally from the UK but has lived in Malta with her husband and growing family for over two decades.
The neighborhood has a fantastic mix of small restaurants and local bars, including a jazz bar just down the street where on Fridays in the summer you can enjoy live music.
