Not in Alignment With Vrbo Standards
We had payment issues with Novasol that we believe violated FTC guidelines and a bait-and-switch process that could be labeled as wire fraud: They accepted American Express for the deposit, then claimed they didn't when the bulk of the payment was due. They even sent emails stating that they would just take the remaining balance from the AM Exp. They sent us a link to pay the balance with a Visa card, and the system didn’t work for months. Wanted us to send the balance via bank transfer and was insistent on this - Then, said we could pay on-site, and the credit card system didn't work then either. Then they wanted cash. Our credit card finally worked the day before our departure (we stayed there 14 days) when it was clear we were not going to be bamboozled per the recommendation of our fraud insurance company.
Facility Issues:
- Nothing was on site - no complimentary toilet paper, paper towels, oven mitts, dish towels, etc.
- Facility dirty and unkept (ie. floors mopped but not swept, not dusted, toilets dirty-looking, mattresses, liners, and comforters soiled with pee stains and blood, pool table stained, recreation equipment broken/in bad shape, dishes chipped, pots broken, windows wouldn't open, appliances malfunctioned, invaded by ants & swallows, dent in door, missing comforter, bed springs broken, no air conditioning (in neighbors' rental), etc.) - We have pictures.
We liked the layout and comfort of the main areas, and the pool guy was a pleasure.
