A cozy two story farmhouse style home. One bedroom, 2 baths. King size bed upstairs with floor to ceiling windows. Full bathroom upstairs with bathtub for a relaxing refuge. Pull out couch in living room. Full bathroom downstairs with walk in shower. Home has multilevel floors. Must be able to maneuver easily with steps into sunken living room and dining room, and a full flight of stairs to second floor bedroom. Lovely wrap around porch. Very quiet and safe location.
Very clean and easy to find. Good communication with friendly and helpful host. Kitchen had everything we needed. Interesting places to visit within 30 minutes from property. Had a great time.
We enjoyed the book selection and the antique furniture. Their was tooth paste on the mirror and the pillows were flat. Could have used a blow dryer for people that fly in.
This was a lovely home. It was very relaxing. The house and yard was gorgeous. Great Location...close to Micanaopy & Paynes Prairie. I would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay overallâthis place is in a very convenient and safe location, which made getting around easy and stress-free. That said, a few basics were missing. There were no washcloths or hand towels, and only a few bath towels were provided. There was also no bar soap, which would have been helpful. In the kitchen, a few additional items like dish cloths, a Keurig, and some basic cooking utensils would have made things more comfortable. With a few small improvements, this could be an even better stay.
We came to the area to visit our daughter and needed a place to stay nearby. This was way more convenient for us that Gainesville or Ocala. The area was beautiful. We took several walks. The house was quaint, well decorated and comfortable. As with any old house, there may be some creature comforts missing but that was not a big deal for us. We would definitely stay again.
We had a very enjoyable stay. Took some time to figure out the TV options and the bathroom downstairs with a shower is really small. Overall it is a beautiful home and location to sit on the porch and listen to the owls and birds.
Great place for a couple to stay when visiting the Cross Creek area
Everything about the house was really nice. Light airy bedroom with a king bed. Cozy reading nook. Nice kitchen. Sunny (in the morning) dining area. Comfortable living room. The porch and grounds are peaceful. Makes you feel like you are out in the country, but there are other houses within eyeshot. We felt safe and secure here and were really able to relax. We would definitely want to stay here again when we revisit the area. Also, the host were super nice and very unobtrusive.
We enjoyed our stay. My only complaint would be that I thought there was more than one bed because of the pictures. There is 2 different pics of the king bed. The sleeper couch was not an adequate option. Very uncomfortable.
Otherwise the king bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch.
Pros:
Friendly and flexible hosts.
Gorgeous, large lawn with beautiful azaleas and lovely Live Oaks.
Quiet location.
Large bedroom.
2 TVs.
Lots of books.
Cons:
The grill has a hole the size of a basketball, totally unusable.
3 spoons and 3 table knives in the kitchen.
The shower is small and backs up.
The location was very nice. The house was a nice layout and has a lot of potential. We really liked the place, but the house needs to be upgraded in many areas (shower, toilets, kitchen). Lots of dust under furniture and window sills. BBQ grill needs to be replaced (no heat deflectors, bottom rusted away completely).
Our comments are meant to encourage owners to improve this property. It would definitely be worth putting time/effort/money into. It was a delightful place and weâd stay there again.
If youâre looking for peace & quiet, this is the place for you! The rental itself was very comfortable & had everything we needed. The bedroom upstairs was just lovely. I spent many nights reading in the overstuffed chair in the sitting room just off of the bedroom. I appreciated the nice towels and comfy bed! We biked half of the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail which is 16 mi long. Golfed in Gainesville at Ironwood. Ate at Motherâs and Northwest Grill. Both were excellent! We would definitely stay here again!
This is a lovely, quaint little place to stay. The bathtub is perfect for a nice soak and thereâs enough hot water to make it worth it! (IYKYK) The king-sized bed is super comfy and the sunken sitting room upstairs is perfect for morning coffee and conversation. The patio is nice but could benefit from an end table or something for drinks. There are plenty of places to hang your hammock and enjoy the quiet and peace of the property. The house has everything you could possibly need in both the kitchen and bath (except a hairdryer) and the entertainment center is loaded with movies! We loved our stay and will be back again some day!
