Conveniently located to Manhattan city center and K-State campus. The house was perfect for our group of 4 for the weekend. It is always nice to have a whole house to ourselves instead of a noisy hotel. We especially loved sitting on the front porch enjoying morning coffee. The little extras of provided coffee, bottled water and pastries was very much appreciated. Rachelle was a gracious host. Highly recommend.
Great country home close to town, and easy access to the stadium and campus. Our host Rachelle was great and the welcome goodies were such a nice touch. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay in the Little Apple.
We loved the historic home - it was great to read all the history inside the home. The outdoor patio was perfect for an evening of just hanging out with some friends. It gave us flexibility to have a few others over for graduation celebration. The host was incredibly flexible and kind. Really a great stay, we'd stay there again.
This is a great historic house that is just a short car ride or Uber to campus and downtown. Rachelle is an excellent host that is quick to respond. She provides history on the house, treats, coffee and breakfast pastries. The beds are comfortable and there is space inside and outside the house to get her as a group. We really enjoyed our stay while we celebrated our youngest daughters graduation.
Over the river and through the woods, to Grandma's house we go
This home is as billed. It is living history and walking through the door, you could almost smell homemade cookies, pies and cakes and see grandma busily working in the kitchen preparing to welcome everyone home for Thanksgiving. While it isn't a five star stay at a hotel, it is a five star stay at grandma's house and just as comfortable. The home was clean, warm and, well, homey. Like a favorite sweater or fall coat, it fit immediately and was reassuredly peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely stay again!!
A house that speaks of earliest generations of immigrants from eastern US in the mid 1860s. Lovingly decorated and updated for modern usage, e.g., indoor plumbing, AC/heat, electricity, etc! It was cool and reminded us of our relatives and ancestors who lived similarly in mid KS, IL, VA long ago. Lots of fascinating everyday artifacts from previous generations tucked into cubbies and shelves. We enjoyed exploring them. (The antique O-Cedar mop head as an example.) It was a delight to explore.
We looked forward to coming 'home' each evening to hot showers, strolls in the neighborhood if time permitted, and simple at-home meals and quiet after hectic and noisy days at a nearby conference.
Just a great getaway near the heart of Manhattan! Eight minutes from KState. Strong Inn gives such a sense of "place", connecting you with the history of the area while keeping you close in.
This was a great place for a weekend getaway in Manhattan during football season. The neighborhood was quiet and in a good location, the home was clean and comfortable for just the two of us.
