{Sunnyside Wilds} An Ideal Spot for Exploring Asheboro
Welcome to this warm and inviting home located in quaint Downtown Asheboro, just 10 minutes to the North Carolina Zoo. All of the amenities you could ever need are included to make for a great family stay or a romantic getaway. The space features 2 beds (but not 2 bedrooms. The second room with a bed is a small single in the back room THROUGH the main bedroom), 1 bath, a large living space, a bar top table for dining, a work desk, washer and dryer, and a uniquely tiled bathroom & kitchen. The living room has a 70 inch smart TV and a sectional sofa that can sleep 1-2 adults or kids if needed. Please note that there are just the king bed and the twin bed (setup as described) and then a large sectional sofa (categorized as a futon by VRBO). The queen mentioned in beds is a blow up air mattress (sheets in the closet)
Highly recommend, we have stayed here twice in the last couple years, only had one minor issue and the owner responded in under a minute and it was resolved. Bed was super comfortable and definitely beats a traditional hotel.
Good location, spacious house. bed was comfortable after I used the cinderblock that was under the bed- to support the middle of the bed frame. House cleaning crew could have done better. Used sponge left out, trash in the trash can. Molding around doors and floor was dirty. Occasionally there was a strong order in bathroom. I believe this was coming from the toilet that was not bolted down. Kitchen was ok, but limited in pans and utensils. For the price we were we made it work but would not stay here again.
#1 this is a duplex and I do not remember seeing this anywhere in the listing. With a noisy toddler (despite efforts to keep her calm) this keeps me on edge. #2 the house is basically sitting on the street which makes for a lot of road noise.. what little bit of yard there was the grass was overgrown #3 our door code didnât work at check in.. I reached out to the property owner he said âwhat was it supposed to beâ I gave him the code and more than 10 mins went by before we heard the lock being manipulated.. he never told us what he was doing.. my husband just happened to try again and it worked. 10 mins may not seem long but when itâs 90 degrees outside, you have a toddler and are sitting on a strangers porch that is right on the road 10 mins is a long time.#4 & the biggest issue was thermostat was set to 79 when we arrived. this may not be an issue to some, but for us with a toddler and myself being 5.5 months pregnant.. 79 was hot. There are no ceiling fans. There is a fan/light in the master bedroom but the wall switch did nothing.. I reached out again & asked if there was a remote that I was missing and he told me itâs broken and they have one to replace it but havenât done it yet.. he directed me to a box fan in the spare room. He also told me that the hvac is only a year old & the unit isnât big so it should cool off soon. We checked in at 3:30 it didnât reach temp until the next morning. I told him.. no reply.#5 the bathroom smells of sewageJust find a hotel.
Never got an email on how to get in. Had to sit outside for 45 minutes waiting for the owner to respond and open the door. Never did get a code to unlock the door. The lawn needed mowing and the front porch had a pile of wood sitting on the one side. The house seemed clean, but needed a good deep cleaning when you really looked around. We woke up to a cockroach on the bedroom wall in the middle of the night and didn't sleep well after that. Also found a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor in the morning. I would not stay there again.
We just stopped to break up a long car trip. The property was exactly as listed. It met our needs. We had trouble getting the key pad to unlock, I reached out to Allen and he unlocked then relocked (as we were leaving) the door remotely. We had a great stay.
Location was great for the zoo! Driving up was a little concerning but was perfect for 1 night. Very close drive or walking distance from restaurants and a beautiful park. The furniture was very very worn and broken. The couch has been broken and repaired and was not comfortable to sleep on. The blow up and sheets were found in the closet but difficult to know if they were clean or not. They were just balled up in there. We did have an issue with check in and communication with owner was just ok as we waited about 5 mins for response at check in when code was not working and then didnât hear again from them until many hours later. The emergency number we were told to call did not answer calls or texts and VM was not an option after instructed to leave VM. Wallâs are very thin and you can hear every car pass.
The property itself will take you by surprise. Once you step inside its so cozy and still so elegant. The living room tv is massive and great picture, and the living room suit was something i wish i had at home! The bed must have been one of those space mattresses because ive never slept so sound. 10/10 will re visit
Home is very clean inside. Needs some cleaning up on the side porch. King size bed is very comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom are nice. Good place for a small group.
Good location, good price. Could have been a little cleaner. Dishwasher didnât work. Also, exterminator walked in on my family the first day early in the morning..then later that same day the cleaning crew walked in⊠understand there was a miscommunication but for sure made the rest of our stay a bit unsettled. Might have a few kinks to work Out but overall ok
Ideal location for a trip to the zoo! It was about a 10 minute drive from the house to the zoo. Plenty of options for a quick bite to eat. Had plans to explore the downtown area but didnât realize most places were closed on Sunday.
House was clean and host was extremely responsive/helpful.
The 2nd bedroom was located in the laundry room/storage closet in the very back of the house. You had to walk through the main bedroom if you needed to go into the living room or bathroom⊠it was creepy to say the least. My husband and I slept on the couch, which was super comfortable, however the walls are so thin we heard EVERY car that passed by. The glasses had water marks on them like they hadnât been properly cleaned. There were splatters of something on the floor in the kitchen. Ant traps on the kitchen counter! (never saw ants). the front lawn was way overgrown. I would not recommend this place as it was very misleading. We didnât even stay our 2nd night and found a room elsewhere.
