Experience comfort at Big Oaks Pointe, a charming 2-bedroom retreat.
Soak in the hot tub on the back porch and be serenaded by the sounds of the Tuckaseegee River. Surrounded by forested seclusion. Sip hot cocoa by the fireplace. Explore the Smokys by train: the tourist railroad depot is right in town.
Hidden among soaring trees and just outside of Bryson City, Big Oaks Pointe is centrally located. The twinkling lights on the mountains of Bryson City will dazzle you as you relax on the porch.
The house was clean and accommodating. We had some issues with a malfunctioning dishwasher and hot tub chemical imbalance, prompting two visits from maintenance over a 4 night stay. But service arrived promptly and was effective. Plus, we were granted 20%, and the customer service was appreciated. Overall, we had a nice time.
Everything was wonderful. Clean, hot tub all ready for us when we arrived. The driveway to the property was the only thing that was challenging. It was easier to back in then to pull in. View was amazing!
Very clean and very close to town. Central location for hiking and waterfall chasing. We really enjoyed our stay! Will look into going there again in the future!
This is a great place for couple or 2 couples. Driveway can be intimidating but manageable. Great view of valley and mountains. Very private and quiet. Large living space with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. All new appliances. Would definitely stay here again.
The house and view are great. Getting in and out of property was a problem. Had we not had a 4WD we would not have gotten out.
Management and maintenance are great. We had a couple of issues when we first arrived. But they promptly fixed both problems that day. . .great. We had
The roads are pretty tricky. If you have a large vehicle definitely do not bring a trailer etc. cabin is nice and clean and accommodating. I canât even hear the music downtown on the weekends.
We had an amazing stay. The place was clean, easy to drive to, beautiful view, and a short drive to town. If you are looking to go to bed before 10pm on a weekend be prepared to hear the band playing at Bryson City Brewery. We enjoyed the music but someone with young kids might not enjoy the noise. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I came to celebrate my 60th Birthday. I wanted a get away so I googled train vacations NC. The first one that popped up was for the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad out of Bryson City. A 4.5 hour relaxing train ride along the Nantahala River sounded perfect. We found this location on VRBO, along with too many other choices of cabins with hot tubs in the area. We chose Big Oaks because it was the closest to downtown Bryson. The cabin was very nice, beds very comfortable, hot tub was clean and relaxing, however the view of the Smokies was AMAZING. My favorite moment of our stay was while having my morning coffee on the covered patio as I watched a big thunderstorm in the distance on Sunday morning. The Smokies were really smoking !!! The driveway was steep, so be ready for that.
Lovely mountain home with expansive views of the Smokies. Loved being serenaded with the sounds of the Tuskeegee River as we soaked in the hot tub.
The house was clean and welcoming and amazingly spacious.
One drawback is the steep drive but it's manageable.
Looking forward to another visit!
The cabin was better than expected- info book of cabin and local trip ideas, tea, coffee provided, some laundry soap, dish detergent, garbage bags, toilet paper, games. Hot tub was nice but 100deg max temp was a little cool for our liking. Gas Fireplace was nice but didnât stay lit for more than 10min. The location was close to all the stores. Felt secluded on the deck even though there were neighbors 50+yards away. Driveway was a little difficult at first. Loved that it was pet friendly.
We had a wonderful long weekend in Bryson City. We stayed at Big Oaks Pointe and the cabin was amazing. Beautiful views of the mountains and Bryson City.
We didnât know what to anticipate, but the property was many times nicer than the pics. Great view of the âPolar Expressâ if you have kids there n town for the railroad, this is the place. Beautiful river, mountain and railroad veiw.
The process was easy but instructions needs updating. The picture of the lockbox that was sent was not the one on the property. The code did not work on the lockbox that was there. It appears that entry is now keyless.
The house is great, very clean, comfortable and hot tub is very relaxing! Also a great view of the mountains and you can see the train (from a distance) from the porch in the wintertime.
The driveway can be a little tricky but worth the stay. Great location as well, only 7 minutes from the downtown.
Great location and house layout but broken features and lacking communication
The house has amazing views and the split 2/2 layout it great. So convenient to have a washer and dryer right in the house. You do hear the train every morning (early) but I enjoyed that. Unfortunately the communication with the property management company was lacking. I had to email three times and call twice to get them to send me the address and check in information. This information did not come until less than three hours before our check in time when we were already en route to the cabin, hoping we would not be left without a place to stay. During our stay the fireplace only worked for about a day (maintenance came out to turn on the pilot light but then the propane tank ran out and they never came to fill it) and the hot tub stopped working at the end of our stay. Maintenance tried to fix it but it was an electrical issue. The cabin also had no trash bags, so Iâd recommend bringing some basic supplies. You only get two towels per person, so between the hot tub and showers you either need to bring some
additional or do laundry/dry them often. If we hadnât had multiple issues this would have been the perfect place to stay!
