Should you desire to have a guide farther down past the pavilion please call and schedule with Brookings.
This river house was truly a dream. From the moment we arrived, the decor transported us from our beachy Florida mindset to the cozy, serene cabin vibes of the mountains. Every room was beautifully and thoughtfully decoratedânothing was missing or overlooked. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and we loved spending our evenings working on puzzles and exploring the little library provided. The river was the real showstopperâour kids spent all day playing in the water, and the provided tubes were such a thoughtful bonus. Evenings around the fire pit making sâmores were the perfect end to each day.The location was spot onâperfectly positioned between Bryson Cityâs adventures and the charm of Cashiers, with its farmers market, grocery store, and brewery all just a short, scenic drive away. Check-in and check-out were smooth and clearly communicated. And although the property is adjacent to the ownersâ home, it never felt anything but private and peaceful. We highly recommend this home to families looking for an unforgettable mountain getaway. We canât wait to come back!
The cabin, the river⊠itâs NC mountain perfection. The property manager had the place spotless and ready for us when we arrived.
The one and only change Iâd make to the place is the beds.
Great little cabin in between mountain towns. Well equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, fire pit and fun tubs for our daughters to float down the creek. The fishing was excellent and couldnât have been more convenient to walk out the back door and into the stream. We would definitely stay here again.
Donât hesitate with this house. Prefect in everything. Relaxing and quiet. Just watch the stream roll by. The kitchen was great. Beautfully decorated. Had everything we needed but we did bring our own drip coffee pot as they only had a pod if you need that.
Fishcamp at Waterdance offered a unique vacation experience for our family. We loved the solitude and privacy and the location was beautiful. We fished (caught two trout), tubed, grilled out and spent a lot of time on the back porch. We were the only ones on the property for the week we were there. The cabin is tastefully appointed and the craftsmanship is superb. While we loved our stay there and would return, we found a few things lacking for a property in this price range. There is no dishwasher and other than dinner plates and bowls there were no serving bowls, platters or serving spoons. There were no wine glasses either. Although the mason jar glasses they have are very cute, we like our wine in a wine glass. We purchased inexpensive items so we could toss a salad and serve appetizers. A set of new kitchen knives, serving utensils and dish towels would be nice. We kept all of our food in the kitchen cabinets and that worked well. The master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. My husband and I literally met in the middle because we rolled that way. Our days were full and we were usually exhausted by bedtime, so we still got a good nightâs sleep. The internet came and went. I recommend downloading WhatsApp before you go and have your contacts do so as well. Have a copy of the gate code in everyoneâs vehicle. The things I mentioned were small inconveniences. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and were sad to leave such a special place.
We had the most amazing time at this cabin! It was the perfect relaxing getaway for my husband and me. Weâre from Pensacola, FL, and this spot was exactly what we were looking for. Peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature, yet still just a short drive to town and shopping. The cabin had everything we needed. All the amenities were there, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like bars of soap and travel-size shampoo in the bathroom. The master bed was incredibly comfortable, and the whole place was clean, cozy, and welcoming. The waterfront was absolutely beautiful. We spent a lot of time relaxing by the creek, and my husband caught a few trout (and released them) while fishing right off the rocks. It was quiet, restful, and just what we needed to unwind. We would definitely come back. Highly recommend!Reynolds
the property and river were magical. The kitchen and bathroom were quaint. the beds were comfortable.
it was rustic. the cleanliness was my biggest issue with this property. I spoke with the property manager, and he said that he discussed with the owner and house keepers and is doing what is necessary to improve the cleanliness of property. he was very responsive.
With that said, the property was MAGIC. There is something super magical about a river that you can sit in and watch the stars. The whole family enjoyed and tubed and the sound of rushing water all day and night was amazing.
I cried as we left... it was deeply healing on that land.
Exactly as described in the listing. The way a cabin should be. Comfortable, yet with a frontier-rustic charm. Felt like staying in a cabin two hundred years ago. Right on the creek, as described. Great for dogs and people wanting a quiet location surrounded by nature. There wasn't a soul there when I visited. Can hear traffic on the road above, but the creek drowns it out. The big positives? Location-location-location. Away from humans. but close enough to drive to Happs for dinner, or Cashiers. Cashiers is about 20 minutes, while upscale Highlands is a bit further, 30-40 min. The creek was perfection. Place was clean and serene. I didn't see any bugs like other reviews mentioned, but folks, it's a mountain cabin, not a hotel--be realistic. The only negative is the place needs new mattresses as someone else said. Mattresses are worn out-you'll sink to the bottom of the bed. Don't plan on fast internet or cell service, folks. But that was fine by me. if you're a gamer or have kids that need to stream videos to stay busy, maybe not the best location with HughesNet. I have the same internet here in KY and it's a bit slow or non-existent in storms.
This place was exactly what I needed to get away with my old dogs. Away from people. Away from work. I truly appreciate this place and the ability to vacation with my old dog(s) and will reserve again and again. I fell in love with it. I wish it was for sale as I'd buy it today. Don't tell anyone about it so it will never change!
Having stayed in the Cashiers/Highlands area for numerous years, this was absolutely the best experience yet! The cabin was charming and well appointed. The setting was private and a fishermanâs dream. The owner was communicative and very helpful. We definitely will plan to return!
The âGoodâ-Privacy, and the creek behind the cabin.
The âNot Goodâ- The cabin was not clean, the kitchen was missing a few things one would expect, the mattress was awfull.
The âUglyâ- The ants, spiders and the evidence of rodents. (Droppings and chewingâŠwe have photos)
Having to rent a hotel for the remainder of our vacation was a slap in the face.
This property is amazing, the cabin itself needs some updates but is very well maintained. Itâs cute and cozy. Needs some screens to keep the bugs out! There werenât any fish on the creek when we visited so no fishing as advertised. Owners scheduled construction work next door while we visited so dropped the review rating due to the noise. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Itâs a little far from Cashiers but not too bad of a drive. Be careful GPS doesnât try to take you out the back way! You canât get out that way, which we learned the hard way the day we scheduled horseback riding at the stables nearby
The view, the sounds of nature, the peace, the fun.
My son and I loved it. He played and fished in the river all day, and I spent most of mine sitting on the porch just relaxing.
Absolutely one of the most relaxing, authentic and beautiful places we have ever stayed. We will certainly be back again and again. "He restoreth my soul" would summarize the rest we found there.
Beautifully situated on a river! Private and peaceful and relaxing! Great hiking! Awesome gas fireplace in the master that keeps you warm at night! Beautiful driving getting to and from the cabin! Would stay again!
The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved to hear the rushing river from the master suite. Itâs a very private, wooded lot with great views. We spent one day just exploring and hiking on the property. Franklin and Brevard are awesome, small towns - close enough for dining out or for shopping. We will definitely be back!
This is a fantastic getaway for nature lovers! The proximity to the stream means you have endless tranquil sounds and the ability to land a trout all day long. We enjoyed the house (clean, rustic, and beautiful) and fireplace to cozy up in the evening. The property has outdoor seating and outdoor fire pit as well for your sâmores moment. Nearby is Happâs restaurant which we give 4 stars so you donât have to cook in or drive far. We played games, did a puzzle, but spent most of the time outdoors. The trout are wild in this part of the stream so you work for the bites but Brookings can guide you further downstream if you are needing more âactionâ. The kids decided to use the tubes and slide down the river when they ran out of patience. It seemed pretty safe (even after a big rain) so they played to their hearts content. We loved the privacy and nature and disconnect from civilization. Not much of a phone signal so you can use that to your advantage with work. * Donât bring your ground coffee itâs pods only.
We plan to return to this beautiful respite!
Garett was easy to reach and communicate with so thatâs always a plus if you have questions along the way. (Our question was about staying another night so just plan ahead and take the extra day-lol)
