I was met by Maggie at the house, and from the moment I arrived, I knew we had made a great choice. My friends and I stayed for four days three nights and felt comfortable the whole time. On our last night, we sat around the fire pit and felt right at home. We truly enjoyed our stay.
This beautiful home was built in 1912, built from Coquina Stone milled from the Tomoka basin and has been standing strong since then. I liked that. SCI had been a B&B for many years. But the girl needed a lot of work. So, I got busy. Today the Inn stands majestic in this lovely neighborhood. Complete updates make this home a pleasant retreat.
Historic downtown Daytona Beach is all tree lined streets with beautiful big old homes. The community is eclectic with so many individual styles. It is just fun walking this quiet neighborhood & there are many restaurants & shops along the Halifax River. Enjoy the new Esplanade Park. With The International Speedway, the Airport, the beaches, many Museums & so much more just minutes away, I tell my guests other than trains, planes, cars & motorcycles it is a very tranquil place. ;)
The Inn is on a large corner lot. We filled the fence line & gardens with attractive shrubs & flowers bringing many birds & butterflies. It amazes me that this little pocket of quiet history is surrounded by so much crazy during bike & race weeks, yet it doesn't affect the tranquility of the area. The large garden area has a covered deck, & plenty of sunny seating, lounging areas, & a little soothing pond. This outdoor space can be set up for outdoor parties & BBQ's. Great for hosting parties. Our individual rooms are filled with all the comforts of home. Come enjoy the pleasant comforts of this lovely historic home. We'll leave a light on for you.
