Just a 20-minute drive south lies Asheville, a premier tourist destination. Enjoy an array of experiences, from hiking Mount Pisgah to touring the historical Biltmore Estate, dining on the Grove Park Inn terrace, or strolling along side the French Broad River exploring the River Arts District and the numerous craft beer breweries.Make yourself at home in a newly constructed 1800 sq. ft. craftsman style duplex built on a 6 acre lot. The spectacular Appalachian vistas are striking from the moment you pull up the driveway and feel like extensions from almost every room in the unit.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary modern applicances. The showcase pieces are The Big Chill fridge and a massive kitchen island. A nearby coffee bar offers two different types of brewing methods and is fully stocked with coffee and tea.

The elongated living and dining areas offer ample space to congregate or you can simply ease into the sun room to finally start that book or catch-up on a missed episode. The sun room houses a 65" Smart TV that is already logged into all the major streaming services.

The dining room table comfortably seats 6. Adjacent to the table is room for 2 more at the kitchen bar. The living room has a gas fireplace and a cozy sitting area.

5 mini-splits are installed throughout the unit, which allows you to individually set and control the temperature in each room. In addition, ceiling fans are also located throughout the house.

A modest office workspace (with printer) is located in the sun room and can easily be adapted for home office use. The unit is equipped with a strong Wifi connection that boasts sufficient upload and download speeds not to interupt your social and/or workflow routines.

The outdoor amenities are specifically designed to embrace the natural beauty of the scenery. The fire pit, the private decked hillside "infinity" hot tub and the spacious grill deck will entice you to spend more time outside in the nature.

If hiking is your passion, an Appalachian Trail trailhead is located nearby. A 10 minute drive to Sam's Gap (parking is available) gives you access to the AT's hike to the Big Bald (5,516 ft), a moderately strenuous hike nearly six miles to the peak of the mountain.

If you're still sitting on the fence thinking about whether or not to book, one last feature that might help you decide is that Bear Branch Bliss is pet friendly. The unit was particularly designed for dogs and hosts both a pet spa for bathing and a dog run - an enclosed fenced-in area that provides safety for late night squats.

The property is conveniently located near a major interstate, providing quick access to Asheville, Burnsville, Mars Hill, and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The adjacent unit is occupied by the property owners, however, the guests' privacy is fully respected. The quality construction ensures that you will not hear any disturbance. Upon arrival, guests will receive a brief introduction, and a fire can be started upon request. Otherwise, the property owners are discreet, allowing for a peaceful and private stay.

Some guests have been reluctant to book Bear Branch Bliss because of the close proximity of the owners; however, all reviews that have addressed this issue have been extremely postive. For example, our most recent guest from January 2023, wrote, "My wife was a little worried about the host, Shelley, and her parents being connected on the same property, as we planned to stay out/up late, but we absolutely loved everything about it.
