The Porch House is New!

The Porch House sits on the edge of 40 wooded acres ready to be explored. Rocking chairs on the wraparound porch provide a great view of the woods while sipping morning coffee. The open floor plan and expansive windows bring the outdoors indoors while cooking, dining, and relaxing. Three living areas offer comfortable spaces for chilling with friends. Two bedrooms with king beds and one bedroom with twins, two full baths, and two half baths, offer accommodations for at least six.

The porch house is one of our favorite places to stay on gameday weekends. The house is always clean and welcoming. Sondra is great with communication. We will be back again soon!

The Porch House

We loved the Porch House. It retained the vintage charm that is a part of Columbus history along with being a thoroughly updated modern home. Although just minutes from downtown Columbus, the home was in a peaceful wooded setting, easily enjoyed by the many windows and porches overlooking the views. The home was beautifully furnished, with every comfort provided and spotlessly clean. My husband found the place “wonderful” and my daughter said that the rental photos did not adequately reflect how lovely the home was. Top review marks from our family!

We had a very quiet and comfortable stay. Great view fromthe back of the home. Wooded area had deer and other wide life. Very nice kitchen and open area with the view.We enjoyed the bread and preserves provided by the host.

Every year, our trip to the family reunion wouldn’t be complete without staying at The Porch House — it’s truly the highlight of our year. This home is absolutely beautiful, with a warm, welcoming environment that makes you feel relaxed the moment you walk in. The attention to detail is incredible — from the stylish decor to the thoughtful amenities, everything is designed for comfort.One of our favorite parts? The fresh-baked bread and homemade jelly waiting for us when we arrive. That special touch speaks volumes about the kind of host you’re dealing with — someone who truly cares and goes the extra mile to make your stay memorable.The house is spotless, perfectly equipped, and full of charm. Best VRBO rental ever! House was perfect in everyway…comfortable, clean, spacious, and just lovely. Hostess was so helpful, accessible, gracious and makes terrific sour dough bread! We hope to return next year for college reunion.

Understated Beauty

The pictures and description does this property no justice. Its so beautiful and peaceful my grandmother said the worse part about her stay was that she cant "pick up the house and take it home". The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. Like seriously nothing compares. They have thought of everything. Just wow. I want to go back to Columbus, MS for no other reason but to stay there again.

Wonderful weekends

We love staying at the Porch House! We stayed on four different weekends this fall. This was our 3rd year to spend some weekends at the Porch House. Our son is a student at MSU, and anytime we come to visit, we stay at the Porch House if it is available. It's always spotless when we arrive. The bread and jelly are outstanding, like everything at the Porch House. We love the separation of spaces, upstairs and downstairs. Each has a king size bed, separate temperature control, and 1.5 baths. The kitchen is spacious. We cook and use the grill. There is a long table with plenty of seating. The porch is awesome! Thank you for providing such a great place for our "home away from home".

One of the best !!

Truly perfect! We were in town for our son’s grad from pilot training at the Columbus Air Force base. The house was perfect for our family of 6 and we were able to host a few of his fellow pilots and families for a brunch. It’s an awesome space, fantastic porch, great beds. Sondra was very accommodating and communication was wonderful. One of the best vrbos we’ve ever stayed!!

Wedding Accommodations

My husband and I recently stayed at the Porch House with other family members to attend a wedding. House was very nice, clean and comfortable. The huge porch would have been great if the weather had been a little cooler. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels in the bathrooms. Sondra welcomed us with sour dough bread and strawberry fig jam which was delicious. Location was great. Tucked back off the street the house was very private, yet very near the wedding venue. We would definitely stay again.

Amazing experience!

The Porch House was amazing! The pictures do not begin to do it any justice. It’s simply breath-taking. It was perfect to host small gatherings during our family reunion. It was spotless and Sondra baked delicious homemade sourdough bread and preserves! My husband and son were ready to trade me in for her! LOL! Thanks for helping us create memories we will cherish forever!

It is a wonderful home with charm and warmth! The wrap around porch was perfect for my morning coffee! My husband seeing the wildlife through the gorgeous windows on the main floor! We will definitely stay again if possible! I would highly recommend it!

Awesome porch!

Beds were comfy and house is well appointed ! Our host, Sondra, was so thoughtful! She baked us homemade sour dough bread with jam! Such a nice touch! All in all a very enjoyable stay!

Graduation Trip

We stayed at the Porch House for our son’s graduation from Mississippi State. I cannot recommend this house more. The front porch was delightful for morning coffee and so relaxing. The home had everything we needed and so comfortable and inviting. We had the best time and hope to stay again at this wonderful home when our son graduates with his Masters in 2 years. Excellent communication from the owners!!!

Amazing home

You can tell the host put a lot of time and effort into decorating this home. When I tell you this home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay with extra emphasis on EVERYTHING! It was very spacious and it accommodated myself and my guests comfortably. I rented this home for my daughter’s graduation party and we had about twenty eight guests to attend. The plan was to enjoy the upper and lower levels of the porch but the weather said otherwise. Even though it rained, we were still able to fit comfortably inside without being cramped on top of one another. There was plenty of dining space and recreational space. Like I said, the house literally had everything. The host was also very helpful. I had some questions upon arrival so I sent the host a message and when I say not only did they respond promptly, they called me. I’ve stayed at several other places before and never once have I had the host reach out through a phone call, they would always message. The host was extremely patient and polite and you could just feel the positive energy through the phone. They urged me that if I had any other questions or concerns to please reach out without hesitation. I could go on and on about my experience with this host and the porch house but I will end it with this, UNTIL NEXT TIME!
