Historically it was just great. Loved the overall decor, etc. Some minor issues. One of the upstairs bathrooms seems to have a flapper that tends to run at times. A work in progress that will be spectacular!
The perfect place for a family reunion - the house is easily walkable to the grocery store and the many shops, restaurants and attractions in downtown Red Wing. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, the kitchen is large and well-appointed, and the several gathering rooms and front and back porches make lots of space for conversation, games, etc. I appreciate the option to book fewer than all the rooms.
This was the perfect âhome baseâ for the grooms family! We had a blast and the groomsmen were able to come get ready at the house and the photos in the old parlor were wonderful!!! Truly a historic gem!
We had a fantastic stay at this Victorian-style house in Red Wing, Mn. It was perfect for our group of nine women celebrating our 60th birthdays & college reunion. The house offered plenty of space (many bedrooms & private bathrooms) and charming details that made us feel right at home. The cozy living areas were perfect for reminiscing & catching up, while the very clean & well equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare meals together. The location was perfect allowing us to walk downtown to local attractions, shopping & restaurants. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and very attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable trip. We couldnât have asked for a better setting for our reunion- I would highly recommend it!
Great location, gorgeous decor and finishes! The host was responsive and gave us so much fun information about the history of the house! We loved our stay here.
We stayed at this beautiful home with family for our sonâs wedding weekend. It was perfect and comfortable for our group. Host allowed for early arrival which was helpful for our schedule. Overall wonderful stay!
This property was even better than we expected, as each of the five bedrooms we required had an ensuite bath (though only one had an actual shower stall; the rest had hand-held shower extensions). The size and location make it perfect for a family or group gathering within walking distance of downtown. Really appreciated the selection of coffee and creamers!
Lovely house, obviously still in process, as a former B&B owner myself I suggest they pack a suitcase and stay over in each of their rooms to see what is needed to make guests really comfortable. (luggage racks, drinking glass in room, towels adjacent to bathroom, soap in shower) The high bed should have a stool with a railing of some sort to help get into that high bed, for instance. There is a two step stool but there is nothing to hang onto and the treads are narrow. I would ordinarily take the first floor room as I am elderly and a little unsteady, but could not manage the bed. Getting up the stairs was also an adventure but I think that is because of my own frailties. A young granddaughter who also has mobility issues chose to sleep on a couch rather than try either bed or stairs. Fortunately we had a tall couple who loved it. The porch and its wicker furniture was a gathering place for us. We did not use the kitchen. For context, my B&B was a Victorian, I was in business 31 years with many repeat customers. I wish them well. It is good to see older buildings used creatively.
This is such a beautiful vintage home. Had sufficient bedrooms that were beautifully decorated and sufficient room for our family stay. Kept the look of a vintage home.
We loved the house, we spent a lot of the time on the front porch, so roomy for 8 people. It was very clean and the whole experience was awesome, the Manager was really easy to get a hold of prior to our stay and we had no issues what so ever plus the grocery Store was a few blocks down the road. Beautiful kept up neighborhood and surrounding area and really close to the Golf courses we played at, that why I picked this location. We'd stay there again anytime.
This property was the perfect set up for our family of twelve.
We came into town for our son's wedding and had a great visit with our family. We loved hanging on the porch! There was plenty of hot water. We love the 2 block walk to breakfast and the coffe shop.
We stayed with our extended family for a few days. It is a fantastic property with little touches of Christmas! Plenty of space to be together, yet spaces to escape to for quiet time. Walking distance to downtown Red Wing. Hanisch Bakery is amazing. We would stay here again!
Red Wing Manor has been the ideal holiday space for our large extended family. The home is full of historic character and is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Tracy is an incredibly responsive and accommodating host, adding welcome touches to make our stay special.
We have seven couples that try to getaway each winter. We have been friends for over thirty years. It is hard to fine a house big enough to accommodate enough rooms for us plus a seating and eating area. This house was perfect. Each of the seven rooms were unique with color coded linens. All of our group stated the beds were comfortable and slept well. The kitchen was fully stocked with the bonus of coffee for our use. The dining room had an extra card table and chairs to fit our size and the living room seating area had three couches. The character of this old house is remarkable. Upon entering the house lights were dimly lit with music playing in the background. The location is close to historic downtown Red Wing. During a summer stay the outdoor seating is available. Hosts were very responsive to my questions. Definitely a great stay.
I've never stayed in a mansion before. The place was elegant and beautiful. There was fancy woodwork, stained glass, and cool antiques throughout, plus all of the modern amenities. Our favorite place to gather was the massive front porch. Tracy, our host, was super easy to work with and on top of everything. Will definitely stay there again next time we are in Red Wing!
