Beautiful Country Lodge with Private Heated Indoor Pool

Get away to a beautiful retreat with cascading rustic ceilings, a 2 floor double sided chimney in the Great Room. Recreational room with Billiards table/Ping-pong table and theater style entertainment. Private indoor pool heated year round with a luxury hotel feel. Master bathroom with steam shower. Lots of amenities. Beautiful brook runs through the back of the property. 15 minute drive to scenic Candlewood Lake, lots of hiking trails, apple orchard and friendly downtown area.

Please note: All of these spaces are NOT shared during your stay. The owners home is the Colonial, which is an attached apartment. All connecting doors are locked with sound barriers.

The Lodge is the guest house listed here and includes the spaces shown in these pictures, which is the largest part of the property. The Colonial is the owners quarters, a 2nd dwelling completely separate but attached to the Lodge and is in the smaller part of the building. Guaranteed private access to the indoor pool is included when you book. Hours of private pool usage needs to be confirmed with the owner. The 55,000 gallon indoor pool is heated to 82 degrees. It is directly connected to the Great Room of the Lodge through French doors but can be accessed by all guests staying at the property through various other doors of the pool room including members staying in the Colonial, the Cottage and the Camp, if anyone is staying in those locations at the same time. Hours of private access to the pool can be scheduled after booking. It is highly likely that you will be able to get the pool privately booked for your entire stay, just ask!
The Lodge has a kitchenette, with a sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, an electric cook top and various other appliances. There is not a full range or oven in the kitchenette.

**We are now allowing guests to book a one night stay for Saturday check in only. If you book a Saturday night, we will allow for extended check out at 1:30pm on Sundays. You must inquire about the Saturday one night stay before booking so that adjustments can be made.**

Amazing!

Perfect weekend getaway for me and the kids! The lodge was perfect with big open space, pool table and of course the indoor pool made it even better. Close to Metro-North. Grill available for cooking. Hospitable hosts and available at any time. Would definitely stay again!

Disappointed

At the time of our booking and subsequent stay, the home was listed as "Lodge at Candlewood Lake", pictured with comfy seating near a babbling brook. In fact, there is no safe access to the brook, the Lodge is beautiful but on a very noisy street, and the owners, while gracious, blamed VRBO for our very expensive "misunderstanding".

Birthday get together

We had some trouble checking in but hosts answer in timely manner. However, hosts were beyond overbearing. Would catch them trying to peak through windows inside. They also came in without notifying us and covered pool. Even though posting said small parties of up to 15 ppl are allowed and again disclosing having a few ppl over to celebrate my son’s, my husband’s and my birthday, hosts constantly messaged about the people we had over (we probably had 10-15 ppl for a couple of hrs). Nice house but experience wasn’t the best with the lack of privacy and overly domineering hosts.

We had a great time at this property. The house is very clean. The pool was amazing and we all enjoyed it. The listing is accurate and the hosts were friendly and responsive. I would be happy to stay here again.

Unique & cozy getaway

My wife & I had a great four day stay at this amazing property. The home is unique & very cozy. Swimming in the heated pool & watching movies by the fireplace was so relaxing and enjoyable. The hosts are very nice and easy to communicate with. The fireplace was on at our arrival and a complimentary bottle of wine which was so thoughtful. We can’t wait to come back! Just a short drive to town with many shops and restaurants.

Grand and Unique Home!

The property was just as described. Very unique, spacious, clean! I appreciated how clean and consciencious about current global handwashing, and disinfecting items. Attention was made to have everything that would be needed there and available. Fireplace was lit upon arrival with champagne. The home theater and access to movies was great. We didn't get to use the pool but went out there to sit for a bit and it was warm and cozy. Pool toys and accessories were also provided. It was great fun playing pool again. It is a great and fun room with plenty of open space and fireplace. The home is spaciously adorned in woodwork, even the ceilings. You can view the main floor from the 2nd floor getting a view of its grandness. The home was located near many restaurants. There was a Home Packet provided with information about the area and important information about the home and instructions you may need. The owners were available to us by text and responded quickly and were very efficient, friendly and gracious. Very satisfied with our stay. Very relaxing atmosphere and very grateful for our stay. Thank you!

Fabulous CT getaway with gorgeous indoor pool!

We had a wonderful mini Spring getaway to this beautiful property! Our favorite part was the beautiful huge indoor private pool, complete with toys, towels and pool accessories! We also loved the various games and activities on the property including the electronic basketball game, pinball, full size billiard table which could also be used as a ping pong table using the included ping pong equipment provided. The master bedroom is a nice size and very comfortable bed. The loft is a bit small but with the twin bed and additional air mattress the host provided we were able to make it work with 2 kids. The one drawback was the TVs have to be paired with a phone and we couldn’t figure it out but with all of the other stuff to do there we didn’t mind :). The outdoor grounds are beautiful as well! Really a hidden gem and close to plenty of restaurants and one of the best diners we’ve ever had breakfast at! Our host was friendly and very communicative prior to and during our stay! Would highly recommend especially if you love swimming :).

The perfect fall getaway!

Our weekend getaway to the Lodge was nothing less than perfect. Owners were extremely professional, made themselves available for whatever we needed, and made the check in/out process easy and simple. The house was extremely clean and spacious for all. We all loved swimming in the pool, and visiting the nearby orchard. Everyone was more than comfortable. We can’t wait to return.
