We love the Charleston area and Isle of Palms is the best. Excellent location for beach, attractions, etc. Perfect rental for a family. We will be back.
Overall decent stay. There is lots of space and location is decent, though the walk to the beach was rough with a baby on extremely hot July days. We thought there was beach access closer based on proximity to the ocean, but you need to walk to the hotel area. Two issues for us: 1) The overall cleanliness â nothing was super gross, but towels and sofas were dingy/had spots, floors left your feet/socks dirty, shower curtain liner had some mildew, shower floors are stained/dirty, the carpet is old and not ideal for beachside living 2) we went on about the hottest weekend ever, but the A/C in the king bedroom had trouble keeping up, so it was hot at bedtime. Apartment could use some updates, but has what you need. If you plan to cook, bring your own knives and wooden cutting board. It would have been nice to have a pack and play and a few beach items rather than having to rent separately, but understand not everyone provides that. They do have lots of games that would be great for older kids. For the price, I would expect cleaner and maybe newer/nicer.
We come to Isle of Palm for the past 3 years. We love the easy access of the Villas in Wild dunes. Easy to unload close to the beach and ways to store our bicycles.
Property was clean and did not disappoint. Nedâs were a little hard for us, but so are many hotels. Kitchen was amply stocked, but no spices. Beach is walkable to get there, and area was clean and safe.
We planned a last minute IOP trip for three of us, and although we typically stay beach front, we found this property available at the last minute and decided to try it. For the price, you absolutely cannot beat it in Wild Dunes. It is an older unit that could use some fresh paint, but it was clean overall and well maintained (the counters were still a little dirty upon arrival but that was all). There arenât as many kitchen items as I expected (no Keurig, limited cookware), but it has the majority of what you need for a short stay. Itâs antenna tv so that was annoying, but the Roku in each room worked great. The walk to the beach was not bad at all - itâs actually closer than some of the beachfront condos weâve stayed in since the walk once youâre at the sand is much shorter in that area (just go down Seagrove right across from the Villas and youâre there). The property management was AMAZING - they emailed all the info a week in advance, texted the day of to let me know when the unit was ready (earlier than expected too!), and they immediately helped when we got locked out of the condo - and had a maintenance person there within minutes to help us. Canât say enough about how great they were! This is a great unit for a small family or girls trip, and weâre happy to have lucked out and found it!
Perfect condo for our family. Condo is well maintained and close to the grand pavilion and restaurants. We had bikes and could be to the beach in just a few minutes. Our family had several different houses in Wild Dunes and the restaurants there (especially the pizza/pasta place) were able to accommodate all 22+ of us multiple nights for dinner. A special thank you to Alec and Nathan who are the property concierge when you book through VRBO. They were extremely responsive and accommodating. Felt like I had the service of a high end hotel although staying in a rental.
From an easy booking, fantastic communication beforehand, and great check-in info, to a wonderfully large and nicely designed unit with extra surprises like a Nintendo Wii, endless board games, awesome beach supplies, this unit was awesome! Everything was very clean except the shower liners in both bathrooms had mold. I tried washing them with the great in-unit washer and dryer but they still smelled. That was a bummer, but the only one with the physical unit. Comfy beds, endless hooks that were perfect for towels and suits, and so much space! Such a lovely location in the Dunes too. Only other gripe was that there was no info about how to get to the pool/ beach and no info about Wild Dunes in general. Had to hunt for the easiest access to both and once we did, both the pool (which was across the little parking lot) and the beach (fastest access is a short walk down the road across the street), but it stunk to have to figure this out on our own on our trip with two little boys. Highly recommend putting some maps and helpful advice like that out for future guests. With these two things, this unit would be just perfect! Without them, it was still pretty awesome:).
The pictures and description of the property and surroundings don't really do it justice. The unit itself was much nicer than the pictures look. It's not ultra-luxury, but it is very nice for the price and I would definitely stay there again. But the best part was the location at Wild Dunes. It was directly across from the beach; about a 5 minute walk at most and right next to the bike rentals, tennis courts and pickleball as well as a large pool with an outdoor restaurant and at least 3-4 other restaurants and shopping available in the same place. Every night, we listened to music in the pavilion across the street and had drinks. Wild Dunes is a beautiful and peaceful area with self-contained resources so you don't have to go out if you don't want to. I am a pizza fan so I was happy to have a wood fired pizza restaurant in the same complex.
