Great location so close to the beach. Bathrooms needed updating. Comfortable beds & good selection of blankets, pillows & dishwear. Best of all our dog loved being with us. Wash machine & dryer were a plus. Were able to use beach chairs provided but the umbrella was damaged.
Great location And owners were easy and quick to respond. The house needs some updating especially the bathrooms. Front stairs need to be replaced. We still really enjoyed our first time visit to the island.
We enjoyed our stay and found it clean and well stocked except for toilet paper (a partial roll in each bathroom). Location was as described and a short walk to the beach access. The temperature inside was warm especially upstairs so we utilized extra fans to help. Would stay again!
Such a cute, convenient, and well loved beach house. Our first small family vacation was a success!Pros: EASY walk to the beach. We did use a wagon and brought my oldestâs electric scooter for her to ride. However my 3 year old would walk quite often. Plenty of kitchen tools. The playground is about four houses down. A HIT for children and nice for adults to unwind. Spacious- my oldest loved having her own space upstairs. CONS: Showers were alittle outdated. Unsure if the comforters had been washed or not so we washed and dried all the ones we would be using. Also, I wasnât aware that toilet paper and paper towels werenât going to be available so bring those for arrival! Overall a nice and affordable beach house, just needs some updating and TLC!
We were extremely happy overall when we arrived to Dune Something Right. However, it was the first VRBO that we had to make up the beds before being able to use them. I think that info should be included in the description. We drove 8 hours to get there and there was basically no toilet paper and had to make the beds to fall into them dog tired. I slept in one of the queen beds which was directly under the AC vent and had to freeze in order to attempt to cool the other queen room. Also, it would be nice to have some kind of small TV in every bedroom. On the flip side, we absolutely loved the location. We were within easy walking distance to the beach and park with 2 6 year old twins. The upstairs loft bedroom was perfect for the little girls. They slept like a rock and thought they were big girls because they got to sleep upstairs away from the grown-ups lol. I was glad the furniture was casual and fancy because we traveled with 2 kids and a sweet dog. All the appliances seemed to be new or like new, which was great. We liked the central location to restaurants, shopping and Camp Legeune (spelling, sorry). Even though there were a few little glitches, overall we were extremely happy and would love to stY there again. Thanks so much!
it was a cute little bungalow but definitely in need of some updating for the price you pay. Deck and steps going up to front door badly need replaced. Splinters just waiting to happen. Blinds on front door were falling apart. Both doors on the front were difficult to open and close. Some blinds throughout the place didn't work. Shower in one of the bathrooms was old and difficult to work. Sheets were provided but not placed on any of the beds. Also if I'm paying a cleaning fee, please do not ask me to take the trash out and put bins at the end of the driveway for trash day the next day.
House was as described in the listing. I thoroughly enjoyed my extended five week stay. Kim was very responsive and accommodating throughout my stay. HVAC is brand new (during my stay) and works great. I would definitely return.
Had a wonderful time here, house was just right for our stay. Enjoyed lunch in the sunshine out on the upper porch. Only a few steps away from the beach!
This house was a perfect find!! Just a short 2 minute walk to the beach in a stretch that seemingly was full of locals, we had a quarter mile of the beach to ourselves! The house was perfect for our needs, clean and when we had some trouble connecting to the wifi- the response was quick and the issue was troubleshooted. The hose/shower combo outside was wonderful to hose down the sand after the beach. Close to the park if you have kiddos, in a super dog-friendly area. Topsail is our new favorite place- and the house certainly helped us in the new ranking! We hopefully will be back to his house!
The location can't be beat. In-between public access 5 and 6. 2 min walk to beach. Playground within 2 min also. Had to communicate to locate grill and about missing basics like toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap, paper towels that the cleaning crew claim to have left for us but weren't there. Walmart delivery came in handy. We stayed during hurricane Debby unfortunately not within control of anyone. We enjoyed our short stay and will be back.
The property was clean. The property managers were very responsive and check in was simple. Some of the furniture was a bit old but functional. One of the mattresses was very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. My biggest complaint is that the shades covering the bathroom windows are useless at night. Anyone standing outside at night can clearly see everything. Be sure to cover the windows if you donât want the neighbors watching you shower. I saw that this has been mentioned in other reviews but obviously has not been corrected. Thatâs why I gave an overall rating of 3 stars instead of 4. After getting an air mattress and covering the windows we enjoyed our stay.
Family of four enjoyed our visit in July. Love this section of Top Sail. Appreciated the beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards and extra beach towels that were available! No issues with home, just needed to buy trash bags and dishwasher soap, which I left for the next family.
This was an overall great home for the price. Check in process was great! The location was good, close to the public access with just a short walk. The loft bedroom was bigger than I expected, itâs very spacious which the picture doesnât really show. Clean and basically well maintained, but I only have one complaint/concern: Both bathrooms have shades that can be seen through from outside when the lights are on. This was very concerning for me as one bathroom faces the street with a very large window. We discovered this when my teenage son was in that shower and we were walking in from outside! We hung up a queen size sheet. I did send the owner a message and they were actually already aware but didnât get around to changing them. I noticed that someone commented this last year as well.
This house has a good location. The kitchen had every pan and gadget you would need. It was the perfect size for the four of us. There was 3 beds upstairs if we needed them. Would love to stay here again.
This house is everything you need for a family at the beach. The little food mart, playground and trailer bar are a short walk away. The main thing is the ocean. The public beach access was closer but also more crowded on the beach so we chose to walk the other direction to set up our tent. At times there was no one near us on the beach. Choosing to do that made our walk further and by the end of the week I was kinda tired of the walk. It wasnât too far at all. But walking it 3-4 times a day was a small issue. It was definitely worth the price and we had a great time. Love Surf City.
Stepped back in time but it was clean and affordable. Bushes in driveway were extremely overgrown and if you drove into parking area under house they would scratch your vehicle. Made the owner aware and was quick to respond he would look into but they were definitely an issue. Good for the money and was close to the beach. Satisfied, but Iâm a simple guy more hung up on price.
