I hope you enjoy the unique and varied styles of decor, garden design and good home comforts.
Some goodies and basic ingredients supplied in the kitchen, inc. tea and real coffee.
Many books and artefacts to browse, art materials, paints, pencils for you to use.
There is extra heating, hot water bottles, cooker, oven, fridge, blender, toaster (no microwave) iron,.
It’s on mains electricity and water, (good to drink) flushing toilet, gas for hot water and cooking, and if you like you can also collect local spring water.
WiFi is on 9am till at least 11pm. This is to allow a rest overnight from WiFi vibes.
The accomodation is for your party alone, so please don’t invite any other persons on to the property.
There is a duck family who are laying many eggs during the summer.
Also you will meet my friendly dog, who does like to hang out in garden, usually asleep, so hope you don’t mind.
Rules, please read before booking:
House Manual and Rules.
Gas Boiler:
Light before doing washing up or having a shower. I will show how.
Immediately after use, completely turn off.
Entrance Gates:
Guest entrance is side gate with key as I keep big gate bolted from inside to stop my dog wandering off.
Please check that you have shut side gate fully when entering and leaving.
Things down the Toilet:
Only toilet paper and natural waste.
Put waste such as Tampons, cotton wool, ear buds, dental floss, in the black bin outside. No bleach or strong chemicals. Just an occasional small bit of toilet cleaner.
Kitchen and Bathroom sink/ basins
- use metal strainer, any waste food bits in compost or rubbish. - NO fat or oils, strong chemical products, or coffee grounds.
Use SMALL amount only of washing up liquid please.
Black outside bin:
Cooked Food waste, any meat or fish and dairy products, cooking fats and oils etc
Foil wrappers, crisp packets and juice cartons with foil inside.
Blue Bin:
Clean paper, cardboard, clean plastic food trays, bags, washed and flattened milk cartons, clean food cans

Coffee grounds, Wood ash from Fire (NOT coal ash) tea bags,
Raw veg skins, leaves etc. Egg shells in right hand side of compost bin.
Glass:
recycle while out driving , (recycle points in most villages)
Cooking:
No deep oil frying, or fry ups that create smoke, spots of oil or smell that will go into furnishings. Also a fire hazard.
Try to keep lids on pans while cooking to reduce condensation and smells.
Use fire bowl outside for smoky barbecues !
Food and drinks - please consume in living room and kitchen.
NO food or drinks allowed in bedroom.
Bedding, mattress. You are responsible for any damage caused. Stained bedding/ damaged bed or mattress will require full cost of replacement.
Breakages or any missing items throughout the home will incur full cost of repair if possible or replacement.
Spare storage room of hosts things next to kitchen. No access whatever to this area please.
Wood stove:
if this hasn’t been lit for a while, it may need some patience...
If you try and rush it, and fuel is too large, you will get blow back and smoke into room. This is simply due to condensation, and is not a fault of the stove.
Start with firefighter, paper, and very small kindling. Fully open slot at front.
Get a good burn going, by very gradually adding small sticks.
Only when these are burning really well, gradually add larger log or 2.
This will dry out chimney, and enable you to slowly fill up stove with logs to make a successful fire.
Laundry:
if you hand me used towels and bedding once a week, I will exchange for clean ones.
In addition, I can launder one load of clothes a week.
There are racks and washing line to dry these.
Dog:
Cara is very sweet and friendly.
Generally loves to meet new people.
As she’s still a puppy, her manners are work in progress and she may touch belongings left in garden.
She will respond to gentle instruction if you want to be left alone.
Also, if you can keep your door closed as she will sneak inside.
Please be very careful coming in and out of gate that she doesn’t go outside on to the road.
Winter Stays:
if you go away overnight during cold icy weather,
turn off the mains tap water, and drain off the kitchen and bathroom taps so that the pipes do not burst.
You are responsible and will be liable for any plumbing damage caused by not draining and turning off water.
It is the red metal tap underneath the mobile home to left of front door.
Finally:
If anything is not working, there is a breakage or any other cause for concern, the sooner you let me know the better so I can put it right as soon as possible.
I want you to be comfortable and have a great stay.
