We had a relaxing stay and were able to spend quality family time. The location was perfect, we didn't have to drive far for anything! Would love to stay again!
I have stayed at several VRBO properties over the years, and this one has been my favorite. It is a huge house with space for everyone. It is a convenient location close to the airport in the heart of the city. The house is an eclectic place with wonderful interesting art throughout. There is a statue of Ganesha at the top of the stairs, and interesting Asian art in the upstairs living room. There is a huge pool outside and just a fantastic outdoor covered space with a bar and grill which is perfect for entertaining. The kitchen is spectacular, and we were able to cook dinner there a number of times. There are 2 large dining areas. This really had everything we could ask for. If you are looking for a unique and different VRBO stay, this is your place.
Stayed with kids and grandkids over spring break. This is not your typical rental. There are many cool artifacts and art from around the world. Everything is well stocked and the property manager lives on site, so its easy to get help. The kids loved exploring all the nooks and crannies. The pool was chilly since it was still March, but we loved it anyway! Would stay again!
We stayed at the house the week of the Valero Texas Open. The home is very near the airport with restaurants and shopping near by. The home is well furnished and very large. The pool and patio area is very private and well positioned. We recommend this house and will be back.
My friends and myself are in the military so it's sometimes hard to get everyone in the same location at the same time, but this house was close to the airport which helped and had more than enough room for all of us. The media room was great as was the kitchen and the location had us close enough for all of our sightseeing needs.
There was a slight confusion about dates but Shelia was great about working it out with us quickly and fairly. A great stay from top to bottom.
The house was everything that we expected per the listing. We had an awesome time. House has an awesome layout, plenty of space in a very quite neighborhood. We will be back. Thank you
The house was as pictured and very spacious. It provided an excellent home base for several people attending the Final Four. The owner, Sheila, is very responsive and aims to please. I recommend La Casa - Elegant highly.

La Casa was the perfect place in the perfect location for my 50th Birthday Party. Family and friends alike from all over the U.S. raved on how beautiful and spacious La Casa is. Everyone really enjoyed being in and or around the swimming pool and Cabana areas. I "HIGHLY" recommend La Casa to anyone who is looking for a place to vacation with their family (close to downtown, shopping, restaurants etc...) entertain large numbers of guest, Wedding/Receptions etc.... You cannot beat the value for this amazing home. I will be renting La Casa again in the near future.
We really enjoyed staying at La Casa for our Thanksgiving week multi-generational family reunion in San Antonio. This large house is clean and nicely decorated with colorful art and one-of-a-kind furnishings and fixtures. It truly is an Art House! We found the linens to be high quality and beds quite comfortable. The back patio and pool area with several seating areas, outdoor tiki hut bar offered more room than we needed for our dinner gatherings of 18 family members.
Sheila, the owner, is very reliable to deal with and her home is in a lovely Alamo Heights neighborhood section 10 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to the airport. We highly recommend La Casa for family reunions and celebrations.
This is my second stay at La Casa and It was just as wonderful and exciting as the first. This year I decided to have my company annual Christmas Party at La Casa for about 50 guest and everyone raved on how beautiful and spacious the home was. There was plenty of sitting/dancing room inside and out for everyone to enjoy. Sheila was very accommodating. She let me check in early to get everything set up for the evening party which happened went off without a hitch. Thank you for everything. We are looking forward to our next event at La Casa.
We had an amazing family reunion at La Casa. The property is very unique, spacious, eclectic, in a great location (close to so many things) and so much fun. The pool is huge and the palapa and large porch are great places to kick back and relax. We had an issue with the refrigerator not cooling sufficiently when we arrived so we contacted the property manager about it. She came by to take a look that evening and had a new fridge for us the very next morning!!! We were blown away by her responsiveness and attentiveness. We hope to have the opportunity to stay at La Casa again sometime. We had an unforgettable stay :)
Great host for a family get together during the holidays.
Every year, the family travels somewhere to be together over the holidays. This year we pick San Antonio. The home suited all of our needs size and amenities. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to use the pool or even enjoy sitting out often. But there were plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and our host decorated the house, including a fully decorated Christmas tree. Access to the home was easy. Its location to town, and the amusements of San Antonio was great. Iâm sorry. , bathrooms, and our host decorated the house, including a fully decorated Christmas tree. Access to the home was easy. Itâs location to town, and the amusements of San Antonio was great. The home is well equipped for a family to stay there and not travel elsewhere other than to take in the sites.
What I liked:
Large House with room to spread out.
Large pool was nice.
Outdoor patio was large and shaded.
What I didn't like:
Decor in the living room was dated and uncomfortable.
Bathroom in primary upstairs suite was very outdated, drawers at the vanity were dirty inside so that we stored everything on the counter. I'm not sure about the other bathrooms.
Numerous drawers didn't open and close without falling off the slider.
The steam shower didn't work and was an amenity that we were looking forward to.
The futon was urine stained which was covered with a sheet. Why are these things not replaced when old, soiled, and worn out?
The TV's only worked for live TV, so we could watch films, kid shows, etc. that were offered on Netflix, Hulu, etc.
The refrigerator stopped cooling correctly after the first night.
While we were there, a repairman came and spent most of the day working on replacing needed parts. It still wasn't cooling properly and the repairman, while polite and wanting to help, interrupted our meals, and the chef we had hired to make several meals.
This issue lasted the entire stay.
Chef Mark was definitely the highlight of our time at the house. He was an excellent chef, personable, and worked tirelessly even though he had to use the bar mini-fridge and outdoor kitchen fridge to help keep food from spoiling.
The property needs a thorough cleaning and maintenance overhaul. Appliances and systems should be tested and working well before guests arrive, not trying to fix them once the house is occupied.
As furniture wears out, it should be replaced. Floors left feet black on the bottom from inadequate cleaning.
My extended family-- six adults including two "seniors" and five children (ages 1 year to 20)-- spent 5 days at La Casa over Thanksgiving. There was plenty of room for all of us. All the beds were comfortable, there were loads of closets, and the housekeeping was fine. Everything was clean. The kitchen was big and well equipped. Virginia, the housekeeper was always pleasant, available, and very helpful. She did a beautiful job serving Thanksgiving dinner.
There was lots to do in the house for children and adults. The children enjoyed the great collection of toys and art materials and games. Even the adults played some of the games. We all enjoyed the WI and the big video screen, which worked perfectly. There are wonderful art books and other interesting books for adults, too. There was so much to do in the house that one didn't need to go out. But of course we did. We enjoyed River Walk and two nearby shopping malls, and we loved the modern art museum, which is only a few minutes away. Don't miss it.
There's a very large outdoor swimming pool which, unfortunately, it was too cool (late November) to use. There's also a very friendly outdoor cat, which, as a cat lover, I played with.
The house decor is unusual to say the least--very colorful (red dining room walls), old fashioned weird chandeliers, lots of colorful art work. I don't think I'd want to live there all the time, but for a vacation house it was unique, amusing, and charming. The only problem with the house from my point of view was the upstairs layout. To reach one of the bedrooms you had to go through another bedroom. An extra upstairs bathroom would have made life easier. Although there were two, one was in the master bedroom suite. but we managed ok.
If I went back to San Antonio, I would use this house again. (I'd try to come when the weather is better so I could use the pool.) It's a great place for a large family group to get together and enjoy themselves. I would recommend it.
We had a good time with two families. Young kids had fun playing hide and seek. Manager was great about cleaning the pool before we arrived. Super responsive to questions. Property is dated for sureâif you are looking for luxury or hotel-level cleanliness and niceness, this isnât it. But if you want to have fun with a lot of character,, it was great.
We had girls coming in from all over the country so this was a great location being so close to the airport. The house is eclectic, but itâs part of the experience and we all enjoyed it! HUGE house with a bunch of space and a beautiful backyard with a great pool and palapa. Madeleine was the property manager and she was very responsive to any and all needs. Would do again!
This was a great house for our group of 7 adults and 5 children. Everyone really liked the large pool and outdoor palapa. The theater room also got a lot of use. Grocery store and liquor stores and everything else we needed were within 1-2 miles. We were in 4 vehicles and had room for them as well. We were out doing activities during the day and playing in the pool at night.
The property manager was very responsive to my texts, always responding within seconds.
There is nothing I could even begin to not like about this place and stay. From our arrival and call from Madeline to see if we wanted a tour and to ask if we have any questions and when I did text her to ask questions I got answers immediately. The beds were comfortable, showers were great, kitchen was more than fully stocked and awesome, Pool and Gazebo was so awesome didn't want to go anywhere. It was an awesome weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday, I got major kuddos for the weekend, but it was the house that pulled it off.!
We had a fabulous time! 5 adults and 3 children were the core of the party! We celebrated a birthday and a graduation with friends and family participating. Perfectâ„ïž Would definitely stay again. Thank you, Madeleine!

La Casa is the perfect property first of all because it is centrally located in San Antonio. Get anywhere in town in 20 minutes. Have a lot of out of town guests, don't worry, La Casa is only 5 minutes from the airport. But it is also very unique in its decor and layout. La Casa can also provide onsite daily housekeeping service as well as customized meals so you can sit back and relax. The perfect house for entertaining, corporate events, weddings and family accommodations. 'La Casa is su casa when in San Antonio!'
