Located right on Main Street in downtown Bryson City, the Hazel House was originally built in 1902 has been fully brought up to date with all modern comforts. Guests can sit on the porch and enjoy the view as well as walk to restaurants and shops and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. The entire restoration is featured in a series by the Perkins Builder Brothers.
The Hazel House was originally built in 1902 has been fully brought up to date with all modern comforts. The Hazel House has two bedrooms each with a king size bed and private bathroom. The living room area is an open floor plan and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. Weâve stocked the Hazel House with board games and tried to think of every detail that will make your stay perfect. The loft has been transformed into a cozy reading area and workspace. In November and December, the house is fully decked out for Christmas and the Polar Express.
Every aspect of the Hazel House has a story behind it. Fully restored from its days when Bud and Hazel Jacks lived on Main Street and ran their jewelry store next door. There was once a door that connected the two. Reclaimed materials and eco-friendly products have been used throughout. All artifacts found on the property during excavation have been saved and displayed. We love the history of this home and its unique location right in the heart of town. There are two dedicated parking spaces located right behind the house so there is no need to find public parking downtown and in the winter there are no treacherous inclines to tackle. The parking area is well lit and very safe.
From the Hazel House you can walk right across the street to restaurant favorites like Jimmy Macs, Pasqualinoâs, Everett Hotel Bistro or pick up food from the food truck and eat at the Bryson City Outdoors Taproom. You can walk to the nearby seasonal Friday farmersâ market for fresh produce from our local farmers, honey from our local beekeepers and crafts from local artisans. Walk along the river and put your feet in the cool water at nearby Island Park. Hop in the car and drive just 3 miles to the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
There is one small IGA grocery store within walking distance and a larger Ingles a few minutes away. We know you'll feel right at home. If you need something extra let us know!
This was our second time staying at the Historic Hazel House and we loved it just as much as we did the first time! Every aspect of the house is thoughtful and created with care. The beds are comfortable, the porch is lovely, and we truly enjoyed being right in the middle of everything in downtown Bryson City!
The Hazel House is a beautiful property. We have brought our grandchildren several times and stayed at the house. It is always spotless and comfortable. We highly recommend.
What a great trip our family had in Bryson City but staying in Hazel House made it extra special! The home is so charming and cozy! Itâs just so beautiful and the location is excellent! We cannot wait to visit the Hazel House and Bryson City again!
Second time staying here. Great 2 bedroom house with all the amenities. Plenty of off street parking behind the house. Great location downtown with easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
We loved this property. It is perfect for a long or short getaway to Bryson City. You can walk to everything in town. Plus it is a short drive to many local attractions. Look forward to going back. My family went for short weekend for the Polar Express and couldnât have been more pleased. Thanks again to Ashley who also owns the art galley next door.
We really enjoyed our stay!
The host was always available and super friendly. The home and location were absolutely perfect. We look forward to visit again soon!
This was our third time staying at the Hazel House with our grandchildren. We were in town for The Polar Express, which was an easy walk from this home. Our grandchildren were happy to find that it was decorated for Christmas. The house was very clean and is beautiful. We highly recommend.
A wonderful place for two couples to catch up and then go explore the area. It was so nice to know that you come back to a beautifully decorated, clean fresh and comfortable home after a long, fun day.
We loved everything about the house. Nice beds and linens, well stocked with everything we needed. We really liked the location. After a long drive, we loved that we could walk to anything we needed/wanted. Using the vehicle was completely optional.
I live in the Great Smoky Mountains in the adorable small town of Bryson City. I am a full-time artist and have a small gallery/art studio at 120 Main Street. My husband is co-owner of Bryson City Outdoors/Taproom and the BCO Market/Bryson Bakery. We are partners with the Perkins Builder Brothers and have saved many old houses in the area. We love our cute little town and the beautiful mountains that surround it.
The neighborhood is located right downtown with an easy walk to restaurants, shops and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Depot. The central location is only a few miles away from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and also a great location for day trips to Ashevlle, Gatlinburg, Cashiers, Franklin and Fontana. Also being right downtown in the winter is a plus because the roads are quickly cleared.
