***************************************** more info *********************************
The Lake: appx 120 acres. 29 feet deep. Spring fed, clear, and cool. There is a DNR boat launch at the end of the road. Several pairs of loons live on the lake. DNR has a website with lake info:
Fishing quality. I would say average/above average. Walleye, Northern, Bass.
The cabin: This is a three season cabin. Wood burning fireplace, one electric floor space heater. Ikea kitchen cabinets, kitchen table, kitchen countertop, queen bed, wardrobe, night stand, chest of drawers, and desk. There are new floors, log chair, two log futons ( all three recline for sleeping.... so a single and two full ) The futons are full and sleep two, the chair could sleep one child and the queen bed sleeps two. Full kitchen will full size refrigerator and electric glass-top stove. Hot/cold running water. 100+ VHS tapes. 50â android t.v. Frontier high speed internet. free.
Flat lakeshore⊠water is waist deep at end of dock. Sand/gravel swimming area near dock. Nice sunny deck overlooks the lake and the front yard. Appx 100â x 100â front yard.. great for yard games, Frisbee, croquet, etc. (see website photos ). Firepit.
There is a second building out back.. appx 30 feet behind the main cabin. This serves as a bathroom ( front half) and shed/storage (back half). The bathroom is appx 10X14 with hot and cold running water to the Ikea sink and shower stall, and some storage.
Included: free high-speed internet and wi-fi. Full size stove, refrigerator, lawn chairs, gas grill, 50â android connect right up to internet and youtube, netflix, etc. VHS player, 100+ VHS features, plates, cups, silverware, pots, pans, toaster, microwave oven, coffeemaker, knife set,
Usually available: toilet paper, hand & dish soap, gas for the gas grill, working flashlight, matches.
Not included in the rent: linen, food, bottled water, laundry, There are linens in the cabin but these are for our personal use.
Internet/cell: FrontierNet high speed internet.
Neighbors. 100â of private frontage. Neighbors separated by stands of trees/shrubs. Most cabins on White Lake are small and seasonal. Less than a dozen people live on the lake year round. Neighbors, while friendly, appreciate their privacy. ( thanks ).
Noise: May, Sept, October are all quiet months. June â Aug weekdays are almost always quiet but weekends can be busy. After the 4th, things quiet down a bit.
Possible show-stoppers: 1.) The water is drawn from the spring-fed lake and is unfiltered (so you should bring bottled water to drink). 2.) Like I already mentioned, bathroom is in a separate building 30 feet behind the cabin & toilet is a campground-style outhouse ( non-flush ).
Notes: Please use the supplies prudently and save some for the next guests. The swimming raft off the dock is not ours.. itâs the neighbors so do not use it. Do not strip bark from trees. Do not take firewood from neighborâs stacks.
Whatever you decide to do, have a great vacation! Life is short, enjoy it!
Firewood note: Please enjoy a bonfire on me, but past a certain point, I would appreciate compensation ($) in order to keep it stocked. Iâd rather have you burn my wood than 1.) run to Hugoâs for a $10 bundle, 2.) strip birch bark 3.) take wood from my neighbor.
Please support local businesses! Hugos and Pequwayan Inn are very welcoming of guests. Please support them.
