Enjoy this historic getaway walking distance to Downtown St. Joseph, MO. Enjoy walking the neighborhood and admiring all the old buildings of from St. Joâs golden Era. This is a first-floor, private unit in a beautiful restored historic building. There is a full kitchen, grand queen bed, and large screen TV.
Beautiful space. Not very comfortable. TV is in the bedrooms so you have to sit in bed to watch TV or sit in a antique chair. We watch TV at night after a day with family only a few stations. Was suppose to have someone come check on TV if they did it still didn't work. We didn't cook in the space just used the microwave and refrigerator. e chair.
Check in process was smooth. Good communication. Locked myself out on check out day, Called the Host very early in the morning, they answered and resolved my issue immediately. Had a wonderful experience again on a second visit.
I had a terrible time entering this property. The first night I couldnât open the lockbox and had to get a room at a local hotel.
After spending a considerable amount of time on the phone with Expedia I was finally able to open the lockbox the next day. The place is charming. But walls were damaged and I was never able to get the TV to work. It was however very clean.
And it was freezing! The heater was never able to keep up with the chilly weather outside.
I called this place the Escape Room.
The area is full of large stately homes from the heyday of St Joe. It was pretty quiet at night but close to some nice restaurants and shops. Really easy to get anywhere within St Joe. We enjoyed a walk along the boulevard system - a 5 min drive and dinner at the Frederick Inn (3 minutes). We were here to visit family.
Very clean.
Bedroom is located near the back door entrance to the home which has an outside light that illuminates the bedroom-very hard to sleep. Had to purchase a sleeping mask my 2nd night.
Furniture very outdated-the living room is super uncomfortable.
1-2 miles from the property are numerous homeless individuals.
Loved the original wood floors and woodwork. It has 3 stories plus basement. It is a mix of apartments and vrbo units. Window air conditioners. Not enough hot water when showering. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The size of the living space felt rather large. I mostly stayed in the bedroom. There was a minor hiccup with the key not being in the designated lockbox but Terri was very responsive and helpful to get me access to the unit. I really appreciated how kind Terri was and how great the place was overall. I really enjoyed being able to do laundry here as well as I was in the midst of a two week long trip on the road and midway through a series of races I was running across the Great Plains. It was also nice to be able to be within walking distance of several local and chain restaurants. Thank you Terri for your hospitality!
