this is a nicest room with a front river terrace. in downtown area of city. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen TV (smart) We have a quiet time policy: 11pm-7:00am. We do not accept children under 6 years old because the wooden house is not soundproofed.
If you need breakfast, please inform in advance and pay an additional $5 per person per meal (cash) when you check in
We have adopted a 26-pound English Cooker Spaniel, but he will not enter the guest area, nor will he come into contact with the guests ~ you may only hear his bark occasionally
Great location and easy walking distance to the casino/concert venues. Downtown restaurants/clubs.
Street is bit noisy but the view of Detroit is fantastic.
Right in the riverfront so great for walking and cycling.
This room (âLovenestâ) had its own bathroom and a balcony with a fabulous view or the Detroit skyline and River. It was fair for cleanliness but fine for an overnight stay. The location was perfect for attending a concert at the nearby Chrysler Theatre. The bed was firm but comfortable with a memory foam topper on it. Parking was free and on the side street next to the property. We did note a few things: it had been very snowy and the front walk and steps were not shoveled. Be aware that the owner has a cocker spaniel dog, who was out in the fenced side yard when we arrived and left, and it charged at the fence and barked at us, which took us by surprise. We saw the owner a couple of times, and he was friendly but not so much that we felt imposed upon.
Nice get away, shared kitchen which we didnât really know. But was okay.
Big kitchen. Clean place, quiet.
We had the love nest room, nice balcony and view, Mattress was pretty firm.
When we signed up for this, it was showing as a rental where we would have the place to ourselves..not just the one room. I believe that has been updated since, but as that was what we expected, we were quite surprised to find that there were other renters sharing the main areas of the house. --The bed was also extremely hard/firm, which we also weren't quite expecting either...nor used to. The highlight to that was that the water in the place seems to be soft water, and upon waking a bit stiff, I rinse out the tub real quick (as it seemed clean already) and sat in a nice hot bath for a few minutes before moving on with my morning.
The room does not have a TV, but has a nice sized TV downstairs in the main living area. Looked like a nice kitchen, which we didn't use as we were visiting family in the area and ate with them.
Our score reflects the understanding we had going in (and a very hard bed), which I believe would have been different if we had a clear understanding of sharing space ahead of time.
Couple highlights: I did get a nice walk in along the river-front...and stepped onto the balcony a couple times despite the cooler temps that morning. Both the walk and the balcony/view were quite pleasant. --The place was nicely decorated, cared for, & the neighbors kindly quiet and rarely seen for the little were we out in shared space.
One other thing: seems there is allowed smoking at the well-ventilated entry way...accommodating both smokers and non-.
Nice if you're looking for a place to stay for cheap, there are tradeoffs of course in terms of overall comfort, but the room worked and we slept well in it, also liked the view and walkability to the various businesses in downtown
This room was very cozy. The little balcony off the room was quaint! Exquisite view of Detroit Michigan!! The only downfall was the TV was lower than the bed and no live tv options
