Milford, CT has for well over 100 years had a thriving summertime beach community. This is an original vintage beach cottage that has evolved through the years to a darling year round home. But summertime is the best time of all. The history with photos of this wonderful cottage is posted for you to see.

A stand alone cottage with a driveway and small beautiful fenced yard, relaxing on the beach close by or on the ample deck is delightful. There is a communal parking lot steps away where you may park another car. This 954 sq. ft. home has two stories and a basement. There is one bathroom with a sweet clawfoot tub on the first floor off the kitchen. In this bathroom is a lovely vintage cut glass circular window above the toilet.

The kitchen is more than well equipped with a gas stove with oven, microwave, dishwasher, countertop oven and a combination full and one cup coffee maker. Pots and pans, regular and plastic dinnerware and glasses are available. The center island with butcher block top is handy for food prep and making sandwiches for the beach! Speaking of the beach you can be on the beach with a 3 minute walk! The refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker that will makes lots of ice and a freezer for your summertime treats.

The living room has a wall mounted TV, recliner chairs and and couch that opens to a queen size bed.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms with the master having an en suite bathroom with good size shower. The bed is queen size. Access to a deck off this bedroom gives you a place to unwind with a beverage or watch the stars, even fireworks from the beach on holidays!

The other bedroom has a trundle bed that makes for one or two twin beds.

Breezes off the beach are wonderful, but the cottage has air conditioning for perfect comfort all the time.

The owner has left lots of information about the area and summertime events, fun places to see, do and eat! Or you can just lounge on the beach...your choice, of course!

This little gem will give you everything you need to have a fantastic summer vacation.

My wife and I enjoyed our extended stay very much. We had the entire single family house to ourselves. We found it to be a great location close to just about everything. I enjoyed walking on the boardwalk at Silver Sands State Park. We enjoyed dining in at some excellent local restaurants as well as getting take out. We also ate in a lot and the kitchen had all the essentials. We definitely would consider renting this VRBO again.

Storybook House and Backyard

I loved the location! Perfect for bike riding, walking or jogging to Silver Sands State park, Walnut beach and the Audubon Center. There is easy beach access right around the corner and the backyard/garden is delightful.

This was our third year in a row staying at this lovely cottage. So homey and cozy, it's become a "home away from home" for my 11-year-old and me. The entire house is well-stocked, and it's the only rental I've ever stayed at that has every single kitchen item I've needed when preparing a meal! The backyard is a lovely oasis and the beach is a quick three minute walk away--ten minutes if you stop at the playground for a quick swing along the way :) The host(s) are super responsive and friendly and we look forward to visiting again next year!

Delightful home away from home

This was our second year in a row staying at the cozy cottage. From vintage charm, easy 5 minute walk to the beach, fully-stocked kitchen and wonderfully peaceful secret garden, this cottage has become a home away from home for my family! The host genuinely cares about guest convenience and we've never been in want for a single thing during our stays. Absolutely recommend!

Magical Retreat

Loved every minute staying in this well appointed cottage…from the birds singing in the secret garden to the cozy and sweet environment indoors to the magical sunrise and sunset steps away on the beautiful beach!!. Cozy Coastal Home

Nancy's home is a home, not a rental. It's full of personal touches and treasures. Our family of four (kids 5 and 8) had a lovely 10-day stay. The beach is a SHORT few minute walk away. The neighbors were friendly. The fireworks on the beach for 4th were phenomenal. And there are lots of eateries within a short walk or drive. The hosts were responsive and pleasant. We'd gladly stay here again.

Home Away From Home

Dear Scott and Nancy, My family and I rented this property for a week and our expectations were exceeded at every turn! Check-in was so easy, we were able to immediately feel like we were at our home away from home. You were very accommodating, helpful, and responsive. Charming Milford Cottage

This is a very clean well kept charming home steps from the beach. House was perfect for our needs. Very comfortable for 3 to 5 people. Roomy well stocked clean kitchen. Everything you need is provided including beach chairs, towels and sand toys. Loved the full size washer annd dryer. Owner is very responsive to texts. We loved it here and hope to stay there again. Hidden Treasure

My husband and I Loved this charming cottage by the beach. The cottage is located about 2 blocks from the beach. What a charming, cozy and cute cottage, we felt right at home. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed and was the prefect base for our vacation. Nancy and Scott left a lot of information on places to see and visit. They were great host, easy to contact and made sure our stay was wonderful. It was (for us) close to so many places. We had the opportunity to visit Boothe Memorial Park near by, Submarine Museum in Groton, Steam train and river boat tour in Essex, the Gillette Castle in East Haddam a must see, Trolley Museum in East Windsor, and so much more. The restaurants in the area were great and there in a little Ice Cream place right down the street from the cottage. A perfect finish to the day - we walked the beach in the evening and collected beautiful shells. Truly Highly Recommend!!!

Cozy, comfortable cottage in Milford

My family spent a relaxing month in this cozy, sweet cottage near several lovely beaches. Nancy and Scott are great hosts! The beautiful garden/backyard has comfortable chairs and sofa and provides opportunities to relax, read, listen to starlings songs, and see lovely sky and moonscapes. Some of my favorite moments were walking on nearby beaches during sunrises and sunsets. The Audubon Society, a fifteen minute walk away, offers great views of marches and an incredible beach. Milford is a sweet town with good restaurants. Thank you so much, Nancy & Scott!!!

Don't close the door

Not so good stuff, Bedroom and bathroom doors don't shut? Good stuff. Cozy , clean back yard and nice area close to beach. Very nice owners. Pretty decent overall.

Lovely Beach Cottage!

The beach cottage was clean, comfortable and very inviting. Didn't feel like a rental, it was like living in your own house. Lovely outdoor backyard & garden. Beach parking was a problem at first but the easily contactable owners were able to secure us a parking sticker so that we could park in the lots at 2 of the more popular beaches, Walnut Beach and Gulf Beach. It was also a great location for biking and walking. Had a wonderful 3 week stay!

I am Nancy and my son is Scott. My family has deep roots in Milford. My mother and uncles grew up and went all through school here as did I and my sons. I grew up not far from this home. After I became widowed I looked for a little place for myself. This was perfect.

I grew up learning to swim and spending long summer days with my friends at the beach. The beach where I met my husband is just down the street. I went boating and fishing on Long Island Sound. I still have many, many friends here. Although so many years ago, my high school friends are very close. Several of whom taught school in Milford and served in Milford government. Our high school class has had reunions every 5 years that I have attended and now organize.

Milford is a a special place to me and to my family. We have the longest stretch of beach in Connecticut....so many 'beaches' with lots of different names! I'm told our City Green is also the largest in CT, but I don't know that's a fact. The history here goes well before the American Revolution!

I swam in Long Island Sound and in the scattered ponds. I've ice skated behind City Hall. I am active in the same church I was baptized in and still attend and run the Thrift Shop. To say that my heart is here....in Milford and in my little home...is TRUE.

When I first saw this home advertised for sale a year after becoming widowed I said, "It can't be that cute!" It was the first day on the market. I saw it. I bought it that very day. Much work has been done by me, my son(s) and grandson(s) to make it as sweet as it is today.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

So close to the beach! So close to so many things to see and do! Plus in the city of Milford there is literally everything you need and easy access to the highways and interstates. The best of all worlds. Summer here is like no where else (or very hard to find anywhere else!)
