Enjoy a secluded retreat in an original Birdcliff-style artist cabin: completely updated with air conditioning, Wifi and a modern bathroom. Nestled beneath the trees in lovely garden setting just behind the our 1820's farm house, about a mile from the heart of Woodstock. Walk across the street to hike the Camelot Trail, 1/2 mile uphill to Overlook Mountain Trailhead and the scenic Tibetan Monastery, KTD. Furnished with microwave and small fridge but no kitchen (and no TV)! Close to restaurants and shops but far enough to have quiet nights around the fire and enjoy a peaceful coffee in the garden. NOTE: Walk from driveway to Cabin features uneven natural blue stone stairs & steps. If you have difficulty with stairs or are unsteady please consider another listing. There are exterior security cameras on the property that record 24 hours a day. One faces the driveway and one is on the main house facing the main house patio. Woodstock STR #20H-066
We loved our visit to this quaint cottage, which is thoughtfully designed and set in a beautiful garden. It was a delight to wake up to the sunrise through the pine trees.
Absolutely perfect stay! Susan is an exceptional host! Warm, attentive, and thoughtful in every detail. The cabin is stunning, with beautiful natural light, cozy touches, and serene views all around. Impeccably clean, peaceful, and surrounded by gorgeous garden. It felt like a true retreat. I canât recommend this spot highly enough!
My wife and I had a great time. Sue and Don were exceptional hosts whom we greatly enjoyed meeting and talking with. The property is absolutely gorgeous and is a great place to disconnect with the outside world for awhile.
The cottage has everything one needs for a cozy, quiet retreat just minutes from the small downtown of Woodstock, NY. The property is beautiful and very close to a great hike to Overlook Mountain. The host was very friendly and accommodating. I'd love to stay here again on my future visits to the area.
Everything about this home was perfect. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by nature and it just feels so serene. The cabin is super clean and homey, and Sue is an excellent host. I would come back time and time again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautifully renovated historic cottage. It is close (a brief car trip) to the restaurants and friendly bustle of Woodstock, yet feels worlds away, with expansive views of venerable trees and sloping lawns. Susan, the owner, has thoughtfully provided everything one might want for a quiet, serene retreat, as well as information on area attractions. Her gorgeous garden is a perfect place for morning coffee. We hope to return!
The little cabin has everything you'd need if you don't need a full kitchen. The furniture, lighting, and arrangement of spaces are very well thought-out. Reminds me indeed of actual artists' retreats I've done, although this was just a vacation to chill and hike.
When issues came up Sue was communicative and concerned.
Unequivocally recommend this space and hope to return in the future.
The cabin is lovely with lots of space and beautiful views of the property from the abundance of windows. It is a quiet location behind the main house with wonderful yard and gardens surrounding it. Susan was a wonderful host always at the ready to provide us anything we needed. The location was convenient to downtown Woodstock and short drives to Catskill and Hudson.
We were lucky to have a bonus with our visit, Susan's son's dog Zeus was staying with them. Zeus, a gentle giant Rottweiler would greet us whenever he saw us.
We highly recommend this property.
This is a great location for a couple to getaway and enjoy all that the Catskills and Hudson Valley has to offer. We came in the Fall and it could not have been better. This location exceeded our expectations. Our host was amazing from beginning to end. Sue balances her connection to guests and their privacy perfectly. The accommodations were first class, private, clean and comfortable. We will most definitely return when our travel brings us to the area again. Thank you for a great getaway.
One of the best VRBO's we have stayed in. The owner was responsive, friendly, had good tips for us. The "cottage" is so cute and clean and really lovely. Loved the skylights, greenery all around, a/c worked well and ceiling fan with remotes. I would stay here again for sure. Not exactly walking distance to the town, but easy quick drive in.
The property was immaculate, the setting serene, the surroundings lush and peaceful. The hosts could not have been nicer of more friendly. The location is close to hiking and a quick trip to numerous bike trails, the byrdcliffe artist colony, and the town of Woodstock, with wonderful food, shopping, and cultural events. It was also central enough for lovely trips to Phoenicia to see the esopus creek as well as to the lovely town of Saugerties and the nearby falling water preserve with its Hudson River views. My only regret was that my vacation ended! I hope to be back soon
A nice and cozy place to stay in woodstock. Susan was always there to help and provide required amenities. Also, she gave good suggestions around the place to explore. Overall Me and my wife enjoyed the stay a lot.
Iâve been to many, many places and this property just might be my very favorite. Upon arrival, I was overwhelmed with so many good thoughts & feelings taking in the unique and specialness of this cottage and surrounding grounds. The hosts were beyond lovely and had so many thoughtful touches. The property is a beautiful windy road away from the heart of Woodstock which was perfect because we felt secluded and tucked away, but also within reach to all the action. This place is a sanctuary. I canât recommend it enough!!
This was a beautiful property and stay. We had everything we needed and were checked on multiple times which was so great.
This is the perfect getaway from the world but close enough to enjoy the cute little town of Woodstock :)
We arrived in pouring rain to an idyllic Mountain location surrounded by beautiful gardens and hosted by the very charming Sue and Don. The cabin is very modern, with no TV, which is good. It is a short driveInto Woodstock, and very quiet and peaceful on the mountain. Just beautiful
Exceeded expectations! The property was absolutely beautiful (bigger and even more vibrant than the photos)! Susan made sure to stock the cabin with all of the essentials (coffee, tea, wine opener, etc). About a 5 minute drive to the town of Woodstock, and just up the road is a great hiking trail! 10/10 recommend for any getaway for 1 or 2!
