This place is sooo cute and cozy!! Very clean and accommodating! Perfect little get away that is peaceful and relaxing!! Hosts are very kind and considerate. They truly care about their guests! Loved the homemade muffins we found on arrival and the little coffee candies in the sweet treats were the best! Will definitely stay again!!!
My husband I stayed for a quick weekend fishing trip on Lake Sugema. We prefer to stay downtown for the quick access to the restaurant, bars, and Mistyâs. We liked having another option to the local hotel. We were able to check-in early with no issues, and were also offered a late check-out. My only suggestion would be a mattress topper, as the bed was stiffer than we like, but for two nights it was ok.
The property was so clean and the decor was spectacular! The host was very responsive and even made muffins for me, such a kind gesture! Will stay again when in the area!
Bev was a wonderful host! Her home was clean, had a great atmosphere, and a beautiful view of the river. Real close to downtown, walking distance. Will definitely stay again.
The Shop is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. It is very clean and well appointed with extras and decor. It was very a comfortable place to stay. We highly recommend staying there! Bev is an excellent host!
Property was centrally located to our friends, so very convenient. It was super clean and the kitchen was well stocked for our morning breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
This is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it. Nice touches like a personal note and muffins, plenty of coffee pods, detergent to run a load of laundry, all added to the very pleasant experience. The deck has a lovely view of the river. Very nice!
Very clean and loved the decor. The place was well stocked and comfortable. The hosts were very nice. Scenic view of the Des Moines river from deck. I look forward to staying here again.
Stayed for 4th of July weekend. Great rental property. They had everything you would need & more. Very clean & comfortable. We could walk to local restaurants. Great experience & would definitely stay here again.
Exactly what we were looking for! The proximity to downtown was perfect, the private 2nd-story deck overlooking the river was amazing, and the facilities were clean & comfortable. I grew up in Keosauqua and visit every few years, and The Shop will definitely be my go-to place to stay from now on!
My sister and I stay in lots of VRBOs, and we agree that this may be the best one we have ever stayed in. Everything was excellent. Great kitchen, great bathroom with washer and dryer, two bedrooms with very comfortable beds, great deck with a view of the river, great selection of movies to watch. We slept with the windows open. It was nice and cool. There was really no outside noise (who has ever been in a town with no traffic noise). We were close to the river, close to a hotel with wine and happily, close to an ice cream shop. Wish it was closer to us so we could stay again.
This property was incredibly clean and inviting and homey! Communicating with Bev was incredibly easy and she was immediately responsive if I texted anything. She helped us navigate the area in the middle of winter.! Little touches made this a great stay. From the muffins, flannel sheets, Kleenex boxes next to the bed and even the right kind of toilet paper! The kitchen was completely stocked with everything we could ever imagine, including Ziploc bags, which a lot of places donât have and can be incredibly useful! Thereâs a great view of the river and youâre easily able to walk into downtown or the river. Not that we could take advantage of either of those things due to the temperature but nice to know for our next visit. We were able to enjoy some of the local events like a soup, sandwich and pie dinner at a historic hotel and a community play, thanks to Bevâs recommendations. While we understand not everyone likes ladybugs, there were even 2 two ladybugs inside which matched the really cute decor! We saw them as a good sign because we know they are lucky! Highly recommend this location if youâre ever in the area!
What a great place to stay! This place was not our first choice but our other place was already booked, with that said THE SHOP is now the first choice anytime we go back. We enjoyed coming in from hunting during the day, cleaning up and being a short walk to great local restaurants and taverns. Once we get drawn again to hunt I will be booking THE SHOP way in advance.
Our property is unique as it is above our workshop for our rental property and it houses a 1969 Camaro which The Shop was thought of and created from.. being along the Des Moines River makes it very inviting
