Minutes from the beach, with indoor hot tub

This 2 bedroom/2 bath cottage with hot tub - sleeps up to 6, and just a short ride to the beach! Features an indoor hot tub, and 2 kayaks are available to use.

Experience the seclusion and charm of an island paradise in coastal South Carolina. There is no bridge or causeway, so there are very few cars. Most use the public ferry or private boats to get on or off the island. Once on the island, golf carts and/or bicycles are the way to go.

This eclectic storybook cottage is located in the Historic District of Daufuskie Island, just minutes from one of the most secluded public beaches in America. Fish from the ocean shoreline or in the brackish marsh for sheepshead, croakers, whiting and more!

About the house itself: Quirky and comfortable, everything you need to feel at home is at your fingertips. This home features a bedroom and bath upstairs and downstairs, with two kitchens and two living areas, which is perfect for two families travelling together. Can sleep up to a total of 6.

The lower-level galley kitchen is equipped for everything you need for home-prepared meals, and the dining area seats 6 comfortably. Pocket doors provide the privacy for the lower master bedroom with a full-size bed, while the open floorplan of the upstairs bedroom features a queen-size bed and an additional futon.

The lower-level hot tub room and the upper-level deck both overlook an outdoor gazebo (great for a picnic lunch) and goldfish pond in the back yard. 600/50 Mbps Wi-Fi with Roku, Google Chrome and antenna television.

This cottage is non-smoking and no pets!

A washer and dryer is also available so you can pack lightly for an extended stay!

Perfect getaway! Hot tub was awesome and used every night. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Grill worked great. Daufuskie is such a charming little island. We will be returning again for sure!

This little cottage was the best!! The host was responsive and accommodating. The beds were comfy, the hot tub AMAZING! I can't wait to make another trip!

A piece of heaven

I visit the island a lot and currently purchased property to build on the island. I have always drove by this cute cottage and wanted to stay in it and when we found it on line I jumped in it to rent. It’s in a quiet peaceful part of the island that is just relaxing!!! Highly recommend owner was awesome to work with.

Week stay in March

Pretty cottage in lovely wooded area conveniently located near county dock- 10 min ride to Coffee shop and beach area near Bloody Point. Nice to have 2 separate living areas which would work well for 2 families or kids. Cottage is well stocked with needed cooking items, beach towels etc. only suggestion is that outside back sitting area could use a refresh. Repairs and fresh coat of paint on gazebo and furniture- a sweep, pickup of broken items would help . Good window washing also- I suspect difficult to to clean during this “pollen season” but backyard and side area near door could use some TLC to make more inviting! We did appreciate good communication with host and detailed house instructions.

My family of 5 had a wonderful time at the Storybook Cottage! It was stocked with everything we could need and then some. The owner was very quick to respond when I had a question. We loved the location and had great neighbors. We would definitely stay there again!

Our Reality Escape to Paradise

Even when we can go anywhere in the world, we choose to go to Daufuskie Island. This time we got to spend a week! For the first time, we took the Sallie Ann Robinson tour - definitely worth the time and $$$. She brought us the Daufuskie historic stories from a 6th generation, first-hand point of view. School Grounds Coffee is a favorite meeting place with an amazing menu selection and friendly staff and patrons. We enjoy the authentic feel of the original school rooms there where Pat Conroy taught in 1969 and wrote about in "The Water Is Wide." The beach walks were awesome and serene with a crystal clear ocean! Everyday ended in a relaxing hot tub dip.

Could not have been better!

We really loved our stay here. We are obsessed with the island and this is located away from any “crowds”. Felt like we were surrounded by locals and it was so quiet/peaceful. I would love to stay here again and Burke was responsive every time. Hot tub is a major bonus and they had chairs we could use on the beach. House had great information on the island and its history, a map, and recommendations for food/sites to see.

Amazing vacation house for an amazing vacation!

We had an amazing stay here for a week. We got caught in a rainstorm upon arriving to the island but thankfully the instructions to getting into the house was very clear and easy. Great communication with how things worked. The house was very clean and smelled amazing when we walked in. The beds were comfortable and the two separate living spaces was great. We had 2 families staying and it didn't feel like we were on top of each other trying to get ready each day. Very convenient location close to the county dock and grocery store. Nice quiet road with some neighbors but we barely even knew they were there. There was a couple of historic sites on our road that we didn't have to go out to the main road to explore. Also plenty of beach towels and shower towels. If you're staying here you really dont need to bring all those extras. Washer and dryer was a bonus so you dont have to bring a lot of clothes. Hot tub was a great addition to the end of the night after exploring all day. This was our second stay on the island and this was definitely a great house to stay at. Would definitely recommend and stay again next year.

Our family enjoyed our short stay in the charming storybook cottage. The home was well stocked with everything we needed! Beds were comfy and we had more than enough room for the 5 of us. Burke was easy to reach and was able to answer any questions we had.

Daufuskie Adventure

We had a good time. The cottage is storybook like and quaint. My husband and I had the downstairs and my two adult girls had the upstairs. The owner is very nice and very quick to respond. It was cold on our first day/night on island. The hot tub was Perfect!! Special addition. Oh yeah! the girls checked on and fed the fish outside in the koi pond. The house was well equipped with everything you need. We felt right at home. Looking forward to next time! This was our first time visiting the island.

Burke and Alicia, always in a festive spirit. We love hanging out on the "public" beach, even though most of the time, its just us there! This Daufuskie Island getaway is our second home. Most of the time we can be found in Tucker, GA, just north of Atlanta.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We love the outdoors, walking, hiking, biking and going to the beach. We prefer small, intimate encounters with fewer people, than being swallowed by crowds. Daufuskie Island is a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
