Idyllique Lakeside Victorian Farmhouse

La maison du lac est une ferme restaurée des années 1880 qui est nichée sur le versant ouest du lac Seneca. Pendant la saison morte, il a été utilisé comme un Bed and Breakfast. Il est trÚs privé, entouré de bois et de jardin, sur 10 acres de terre au milieu de la Seneca Wine Trail ainsi que les sentiers de chocolat et de fromage en pleine croissance.

Si combinĂ© avec le chalet (# 231064), il fait un joli havre qui est particuliĂšrement adaptĂ© pour les rĂ©unions et les rĂ©unions de famille. De nombreuses activitĂ©s pour vous tenir occupĂ© sur et hors de la propriĂ©tĂ©. En plus de 2 canoĂ«s et de deux kayaks, il y a un foyer sur la plage. Il y a la natation et la pĂȘche 9w / licence) du quai.
Le grand porche est idéal pour se détendre, socialiser, manger et prendre dans votre environnement.

The house is an older home, decorated as such. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Each bedroom has a bathroom, which worked wonderfully for our family. Communication went well with the property owner.Only recommendation, is better lighting outside at stairs driveway side, that can be brighter when coming in at night. My parents (75) struggled with seeing the steps as they came in. And, the front door step down can be marked. My dad fell as he came out of the house because he missed the step down. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Excellent location for a getaway vacation to the Finger Lakes. Great house and property. Plenty of room for dining, family fun time and privacy. Outstanding kitchen!

This was a gathering of my siblings and our spouses. There were 8 of us all together. We all enjoy cooking so having a fully stocked kitchen was key for us. The gathering spaces were also perfect especially the gorgeous front porch and large dining area.

Fantastic historic farmhouse. Couldn’t have asked for a better house for 4 couples all 60. Loved the close location to Watkins Glen State Park, Corning Glass, and the wineries. Equipped with everything we needed plus more. And spacious. Loved sitting on the porch by candlelight at night and in the morning enjoying the view. Highly recommend. Michelle was very very responsive to emails and texts.

We loved the location and the charm of the Victorian home. We all enjoyed the beach and fire out area although it is a bit if a challenge he to get down there. The pitch was amazing for morning coffee and evening wine and conversation. The kitchen is well equipped. Thank you Michelle for a perfect getaway. Beautiful home

The house and property are fabulous! Everything was pristine clean. So much room for our group of 10 friends to gather together. Our favorite part was sitting on the spacious porch to have our morning coffee and our pre-dinner snacks and beverages. Michele was readily available for any questions we had prior to our arrival. We had no questions during our stay which was primarily due to the extensive information binder at the house which included manuals for the appliances and detailed information about where to locate just about anything one could possibly need to cook with.Because it was the beginning of September, we knew we wouldn’t be swimming so the fact that the water was a little bit of a hike down a hill from the house wasn’t an issue but something to be mindful of for individuals with any mobility issues. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay and even talked about returning next year.

The house itself was awesome. Plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms. Large kitchen. The porch was a favorite hangout place.The path to the water was not fun. Pretty steep gravel road to go down & up. The area by the water could have been a lot better. Weeds could have been trimmed & the outhouse was disgusting. Overall my family & I had a good time there.

We had a lovely stay. As indicated, it’s quite a walk down to the lake, but the beach and boat house were great. The house was spacious, and the kitchen had top notch appliances, which was great for us as we like to cook. My sole complaint is that the mattresses were very firm, but I think most of our party was fine with them.

Beautifully relaxing, quiet and remote

The house was quaint, the neighborhood very private, and the week was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. We loved that you could be in Watkins Glenn in 10 minutes, Hammondsport in 30 and Ithaca in about 45. Each was a delightful off the beaten path village or town that were interesting and quirky and catered to the summers tourists. Each room was beautifully appointed with an antique motif, the bathrooms updated and the air-conditioning was very appreciated on a couple hot and humid days. The kitchen was very well equipped so much so that many of the dishes and cookware hadn't been used in years and therefore had grunge on them. The house in general needs a through, deep cleaning including dusting. We spent hours daily on the front porch and it was the highlight of the property. However the wicker furniture is long past it's prime, has been repaired/painted repeatedly and needs replacing.The lake and the property's 400 ft. of shoreline was extraordinary with canoes and kayaks that made exploring fun. However the 150-200 vertical foot elevation difference (I'm guessing) between the house and the lake was not for the faint of heart.The daily train was actually a highlight and the engineer would honk at us tourists. The host was very friendly and easy to working with answering all questions in a timely manner. For the price we thought it a great bargain.

Spacious accommodation

Loved the fact there were so many rooms and bathrooms for our family get together. No one had any trouble getting to the lake and we did have 2 children ages 5 and 8. Fishing off the dock was fun for the kids. My only complaint would be the 400 cleaning fee as we had one small dog with black hair who was downstairs most of the time. As per instructions, we vacuumed downstairs and did the 2nd floor as well---there were gray dog hairs on that floor so I'm not sure how much cleaning was done by the cleaners. The owner was very responsive on all communications and the kitchen was well stocked. I would suggest boxing up some of the knick knacks throughout the house as I was constantly telling the kids not to touch anything. Overall though, a great place for a family getaway.

Summer vacation with Three family’s

The house was the perfect size for all three families 6 adults and 9 kids, we loved playing bocci and ladder ball in the yard. The walk to the lake was understated in the reviews. The stairs and gravel hill were a lot with an infant, very steep and pretty slippery in the rain, but the dock and kayaks were worth it. The beds left something’s to be desired, and the outdoor furniture is at the end of its lifespan, but the porch was by far a favorite! The kitchen was great, equipped with everything you could need! Overall a great stay!

Our whole family together!

We stayed at the Lake House for our 50 anniversary get together. Everyone had a room with a bath. We found plenty to do with the kids in the area and had our own boats by the dock. It’s a great place for a big group!

Felt like Mom's House

This was a lovely country home right out of my childhood with linen table runners, bone china, and comforts of home. It's definitely dated but in a good way - it felt like going home where you expected to find fun memories in every drawer. Lake views are probably only in winter and early spring as the leaves block the view. The journey down to the lake is not for the faint of heart or those with bad knees. The location is excellent for wine tasting, hiking, and just general exploring the Fingerlakes region.

Like staying at a friend's home while they are away.

The Lake House was the perfect setting for our family's milestone celebration. With six bedrooms, it comfortably accommodated all 11 of us. Of all the homes we've rented, this one was the best appointed, featuring a modern, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of games, and ample space for both group activities and quiet conversations. Despite its 1880s Victorian charm, the house had been thoughtfully updated with more than enough outlets to charge all of our electronic devices. The yard was wonderfully spacious allowing members of our group to practice golf swings and disc golf throws. And the porch, frequently praised in other reviews, lived up to the hype—each morning, at least one of us could be found there, coffee in hand, soaking in the serene view.

Large Victorian Home With Lakefront Access

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was large enough to accomodate our extended family. Everyone had their own bathrooms. The house was beautifully furnished, clean, and had all the necessary ammenities. The wrap-around porch was perfect for morning coffee and while getting to the lake is a bit of a hike (you can either walk or drive), it's worth it. The lake was beautiful and clean and provided many hours of swimming and lake-related sports. Michele was a courteous and responsive host. Oh, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need to cook meals for large groups.

Great family stay

The house was great for our family of 8 adults, an infant + 2 dogs. There was plenty of rooms and configurations for everyone. The location was convenient to all the local wineries, breweries, farms and restaurants. The DSL internet was very challenging to the members of our group that were working on vacation. Also, having a very large cleaning fee while also being asked to strip the beds and take out the trash (which is down the very long driveway) was disappointing.

Tremendous Trip

Our stay at the Farmhouse was delightful. The house is so nicely decorated and pleasant. It fit my family of 14 and three dogs perfectly. The front porch was truly a center point for us. We ate all of our dinner meals on the porch. Also the downstairs bedroom was used as a den for the kids and they loved being there playing or watching TV. As a host, Michele was attentive to our needs beyond expectation.
