SOME THINGS TO NOTE:

This is original 1920's wood-frame construction and they made homes a bit different back then. It is quaint and cozy and some spaces like the bedrooms are a bit smaller and hallways a little narrower. Being almost 100 years old (pretty amazing when you think about it!) it has it's unique quirks:
- The front door locks best if you push/pull in on it slightly to help engage the deadbolt
- The floor may creak here and there
- Hold the flush lever on the toilet down for a second or two for it to flush fully

BYO streaming service passwords (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.). The TVs are all Smart TVs and the wifi is super fast so just bring your accounts and enjoy!

If you want a cookie-cutter brand new, super modern place this may not be the right fit for you. However, if you're looking for something unique with some old-world charm and super-cute beachy feel in a great location, then the "Sea Shack" is perfect for you!

Such a great experience! The hosts are extremely prompt, helpful and kind. All the beach gear we needed was provided by the hosts and we made great use of it during our stay. I will definitely book again with these hosts!

Great stay!

The property is very cute and was perfect for our family trip. We stayed over Christmas and loved that Cale had a fake Christmas tree in the living room. It's the little touches. He was very responsive and I enjoyed working with him.

The host was responsive during the stay. There was an issue with the hot tub that was resolved. The outdoor furniture was left uncovered which made it almost impossible to sit on because it was always dirty and wet. Neighbors were nice and quiet. Temps got cold and thermostat was locked for a couple of days so we had ac on when we needed heat. Then it warmed up and we needed the air back. I wish we had full control the whole time. There were certain areas of the home that felt clean and others not so much. The bathroom and kitchen cabinets were dirty and had water stains. The garbage cans were filthy. The indoor sauna was nice. The carpet in living room was dirty and smelled. One of the queen beds felt unstable. There were no closets to hang clothes although hangers were provided. Downstairs was spacious. Upstairs felt cramped and stuffy.

You did have full access to the thermostat the whole time. It was never locked. When you asked about it, we notified you of this and showed you how to use it. It's a simple Nest thermostat and easy to use.

The pictures are totally misleading as is the description. It says that it sleeps eight. There are two beds in each bedroom one of the queen size beds is surrounded by walls on three sides so the only way to get into it is to go over a footboard at the bottom of the bed the other queen size bed has approximately 8 inches on one side to getinto it. It’s advertised as a gourmet kitchen, which it is far from. For example, the silverware drawer had three forks. The exhaust on the stove was filthy with grease, the coffee area I believe had 3 cups. The living room area was very dirty with a carpet and a couch that were filthy and uncomfortable to sit on even I if it were clean. The outside are in the picture looks inviting, but in actuality, the cushions are worn out and very uncomfortable to sit on. Very strangely, we received a separate contract that had certain stipulations which included limiting noise and I asked how that was monitored and I was told there is a monitoring system in the home. Maybe if this is being rented to drunken college students it works but not for retired professionals. B I find the whole experience of the stay to be totally misrepresented and shameful that this is listed on VRBO.

So sorry that this is how you decide to share your experience when nothing was said during your stay. The pics represent the property very well and accurately. We suggest you read the listing as we are very clear and open that if you want a luxury new home this is not it. This was built in the 1920s and has the antique charm and is very cute and cozy.l and in a great location. We recommend guests look at the rest of the reviews to see the real story as this guest is clearly just disgruntled.

Sea Shack Very Convenient

Very happy with our recent stay at the Sea Shack! Loved the location - close to supermarket, restaurants & shipping. We took the bus to the beach & to visit Palm Beach - very convenient! Bicycles were a great way to tour the area as well! As we were two adults, the two bedrooms and one bath were perfect. Hope to return again some day!

Holiday at the beach

We enjoyed the location and all the extra amenities. We had video games, and board games for rainy days. There was beach gear for the sunny days. Our host was easy to reach and prompt to reply with any questions and local suggestions. We visited many beaches along the coastline. We enjoyed our time at the “Sea Shack”

Great stay for a weekend getaway

We absolutely enjoyed our stay! It was very clean and looks exactly as the pictures that are shown on the listing. It was a quiet street with plenty of parking and a 5 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Having Publix across the street was especially convenient! The beaches were laid back and clean and very easy to get to. I would only suggest to bring (if you can) and cutting board and extra blankets. Some of us are used to weighted blankets, so a heaver blanket or two would have been nice to have. Beds were supper comfortable!! Thank you!

The best place ever;-).

One of my favorite places. It's adorable and perfect! Even my kids (16,18, and 20) said "we love this place" these are all boys! Now that speaks a ton;-). It was so incredible we stayed an extra day! Don't need a rental car just an Uber to the address and everything you need is a walk away: laundry mat grocery store restaurants beach in walking distance If you need anything for the beach they got it for you;-). chairs buggy football towels blue tooth music box Don't miss out! You got to give this a try! The hosts are spectacular!!

Very cool unit, perfect location!!

In looking for a local overnight staycation this unit really stood out among a lot of other listings that seemed to all resemble each other. After checking out the reviews I knew this unit would be perfect for us. The property was extremely private and super conveniently located with downtown Lake Worth only blocks away. Cale was extremely responsive and accommodating with any needs, quick to answer any questions. His team made sure there was a cooler and stuff for the beach set out after knowing that we would be headed to the beach (only a couple miles away). The decor was extremely unique and all the furniture was comfortable. The bohemian vibe stood out and I would totally stay there again! For families there is plenty of sleeping space and the TVs have streaming services. For the kids (and us gamers) there is an Xbox which was a perfect addition. Thank you Cale!

Absolutely wonderful!

The whole experience with this rental was perfect. The renters were incredibly kind, very fast to respond, and answered all of our questions. The house was also perfect! We were expecting it to be smaller from the pictures but wow it is spacious and beautiful! We loved the convenience of not having to pack up coolers, chairs, beach gear, pack and play, etc to enjoy the beach bc they provided it all. Absolute perfect experience and would recommend them over and over again!! The house was stocked with everything we needed! Parking was a little frustrating bc we had to parallel park and others kept taking the spot but that is no fault of the owners.

The listing is not accurate. The beds are not luxury, nor are the pillows. None of the beds had mattress pads and the sheets are see through. The house was dirty, I accidentally moved the shower mat and there’s a huge clump of hair, not mine underneath it. It had bug traps throughout, which looked like they had not been changed nor clean in quite some time, hence the cockroaches. The cute fence in the picture is broken and knocked over and doesn’t show the two large overflowing trash cans next to it. As well as the table next to the weber grill doesn’t show the broken chairs. The bikes are not free as they state in the description, the beach towels are not for you to bring to the beach, this you will find out after you book. The shower is moldy, and you need to buy your own toilet paper if you plan on staying longer than three days with a family (there were 4 of us). It is a cozy cottage, be prepared to hit your head on the ceiling in the upstairs and bend down to look in the bathroom mirror.

For future guests, look at all our other reviews and you'll see the truth about our property as this review has inaccurate information as the guest was simply not happy and decided to thus write a poor review. The beds are memory foam and very comfy along with the sheets. The claims of uncleanliness were not verified as they were not able to provide any evidence. Had they done so, we would have sent our cleaners out there right away to address it. There is regular pest control service at the property. The bikes are free to use. The beach towels certainly can be brought to the beach along with all the other beach accessories we provide. Sadly, this guest just decided to write a review with lots of false information.

Cute house literally a 5 minute walk from downtown

Here's what was great: First and foremost the location. You can literally walk downtown and ride bikes to the 'lake.' There are plenty of nearby restaurants, a laundromat, little shops, an art gallery, and more! I found the airport to be about 15 minutes away in traffic and was able to get to Fort Lauderdale in 40 minutes, downtown West Palm Beach in 15 minutes. I walked around the area at night and can attest to the neighborhood being quiet and safe. The house itself was very tidy and well decorated. The included bikes, beach cooler, and video game arcade cabinets were great. The TV is excellent and the large supply of pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils were a great addition. Plenty of towels are available in the bathroom. We certainly made good use of the front yard 'patio' area and propane grill. The hosts themselves were very responsive and accommodating. Things to be aware of: The bedrooms are *cozy* by which I mean small with slanted ceilings, but if your main activities in the bedroom are sleeping you'll be fine. Speaking of slanted ceilings, you may have to squat down to use the bathroom mirror if you're taller than 5'3". That said, besides the funky ceiling the bathroom was clean and did everything you expect a bathroom to do. This isn't a large house by any means but is perfect for 1-4 people to have a comfortable, well maintained place to sleep, eat, and relax when they're not in downtown Lake Worth. Street parking is adequate for a vehicle or two and could be found at all times but I wouldn't plan on brining a caravan. There is no washer or dryer but a laundromat is literally within 2 blocks. All in all I would certainly come back and would recommend anyone looking to stay in a cute, tidy (if not a little quirky) house near downtown to do the same.

Hi Ross, Thanks for the great review and we're glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes, these historic cottage style homes do have their quirks, but it's pretty impressive to think they are 100 years old! And thanks for the great description on the area. As you described, it is very bike/walk friendly with lots to do very close by. You're welcome to stay with us again at Sea Shack anytime!

Excellent Host

The property has been upgraded and decorated wonderfully! We enjoyed the extra's they provided (Bikes, beach chairs, floats, carts, etc). Cale was very responsive to all my questions and made the process easy! I highly recommend this host!

Perfect beach cottage in perfect location

My family of five fit perfectly in this cute cottage! The location is perfect for all of the things we wanted to do, like beach, and dining. There was a Publix at walking distance which was perfect for our needs. The host was very responsive and friendly, and very nice and gave us all the information we needed about the house. The house itself was super clean and well maintained. The hosts really thought of everything a family could need on vacation and even supplied beach gear! Our family loved this place and will be returning again for our next trip!
