450sq ft studio cottage house on the fox river. Minutes from Omro, Winneconne, or Oshkosh. Boat launch one block away, dock outside your back patio door. King bed, twin trundles, and futon. Full kitchen with full size refrigerator. Perfect for a fisherman getaway.
Beautiful location! Great neighbors and a sunset you must see for yourself!! This was the perfect place out of town for me and my daughter to stay! Weâll be back again next year!
One room studio with king bed, futon and 2 twin beds. Kitchen adequate and TV good. Bring your own streaming information if you want specific channels. Boat dock was easy to get into. Has electric, only recommendations would be for lights that can be turned on and off so that when you come in. Host was great.
We expected this trip to be great after having thorough conversations with Kristin, but we never expected the trip to be as perfect as it was. Kristin was extremely hospitable, considerate, and just an overall great person with desires to make our trip more than phenomenal. We arrived to the cottage with an amazing greeting card and a âgoodie-bagâ full of maps, events, and places to visit in the city of Oshkosh. Let me be clear, Iâve lived in Missouri my entire life and never once thought about moving, but after experiencing the hospitality and communal culture of the town, my girlfriend and I have thought about packing up and moving down to this beautiful place. I truly cannot put into words how perfect this town is and how greatly they uphold traditional American values and stoic culture in a country full of decrepit and devolving cities. Oshkosh stands tall and represents the best things about America and the meaning of being the Land of the Free. We will without a doubt be returning to Oshkosh so we can show our children the beautiful and fun that the community and area have to offer.
My biggest recommendation for anyone booking a spot near Oshkosh or the DellsâŠBook with Kristin. She will go out of her way to ensure you have the perfect vacation and for a great bargain at that. Donât get an overpriced hotel room! You will regret not seeing the picture-perfect view and the awesome water slide. Thank you for the perfect trip Kristin! Hoping to see you again soon!
The good:
King size bed comfortable. Beautiful views of the river and sunsets. Quiet.
Owner responsive.
Needs work:
Peeling paint around the entry door and dirty siding.
No direct access to the cottage. Something to be aware of for people with limited mobility.
Overpowering deodorizer smell. We unplugged the electric freshener. but the odor persisted during the stay despite our leaving the windows and doors open.
Dirt, dead bugs, and rodent droppings underneath toaster oven. Cobwebs and dirt on kitchen cabinet toe kicks. Random spiders crawling up the walls
Cookware inadequate. Many baking sheets but only one small pot.
Food waste on some of the dishes. Is the âGood morning, A**holeâ coffee cup necessary?
No hand soap at the kitchen sink and the one in the bathroom was nearly empty. Shower had no soap.
Toilet paper was cheap industrial stuff.
Standup shower (no tub) is uncomfortably small. Pedestal sink is small and water splashes on the floor. When we cleaned up the water, the paper towels came up brown with dirt.
Pillows rough, worn out, and stained.
There were no smoke detectors. Is that even legal?
Nice to have if the owner cares:
Keurig coffee maker with pods would be a nice touch
A microwave oven
A plastic dishwashing tub. The kitchen sink drain would not seal.
We would have given feedback to the owners directly upon checkout, but they were not present.
We enjoyed the view, the quiet and the fishing. The cabin has everything you need for a great stay, the king sized bed was very comfortable. While there is no tv the internet is really good so we rented a movie and watched on our computer a few times. We can't wait to come back again next year.
My Dad spent a week here, this was his first time in Wisconsin. Everyday when we met up he mentioned how nice the sunsets were. I would recommend this rental to anyone that wants a quiet getaway.
Really enjoyed my stay with Kristin. She was an accommodating and welcoming host. The cabin was perfect for my stay. Clean, comfortable and everything that you need. The king size bed was very comfortable, and sitting by the lake in the morning and evening was delightful. Would definitely stay with Kristin again.
This was a nice place to stay to get away and relax for a few days. Very nice view of the river, great sunsets, and lots of lakes and natural areas nearby for exploring. The cottage was comfortable with a full kitchen. The owner was great to deal with and very helpful with suggestions for nearby places to visit. Recommended -- would stay again.
This cottage is located in a very quiet neighborhood. The hosts were very responsive. Ample parking for a boat and the views are incredible. I will be back for sure
Lovely little cottage with amazing sunset views over the lake. Well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. There were a few critters, but I feel that's to be expected right on a lake. I would definitely do it again.
Great cabin experience! It has all you need. Clean floors, bathroom, and appliances. Beautiful sunsets (The back faces due West) overlooking a breathtaking marsh. Birds, fish, foul, and the occasional turtle with grace your presence. Boating, museums, and waterfront restaurants are all nearby and we had wonderful experiences at all of them. The community is so friendly and welcoming. We made some great friends! Highly recommended!!! I wish I could post pictures!
Terrillis island for one short walk away but a treasure of trail. Spent forth of July weekend here awesome view from home. I was a little anti social but great neighbors felt welcomed. Lots of high speed action up and down fox river.. My opinion great location for paddleboarding. Huge lake access. Boat ramp right down street if needed. As for fish huge action from what I saw. I'm just a kayaker lol.
