Great place!

Our family had an amazing week! We spent our days floating near the dock and kayaking to the lily pads in bloom about a mile to the east.Our evenings were spent enjoying the fire pit. We had such a good time, we were already planing a return visit before the trip was over.

Quiet weekend getaway

This was such a cute, rustic cabin on a beautiful lake lot. It provided the perfect spot for a getaway weekend. Although it was too cool to get in the lake, we still enjoyed sitting out on the dock and and having a cozy fire in the fire pit during the evenings. Great weekend and the host was extremely responsive.

Perfect place for a peaceful weekend!

My mom and I had a wonderful stay at the King Kabin! We especially loved the screened porch and spent a lot of time out on it, watching sunrises over coffee in the morning, and my two dogs had a great time playing in the water every day (although it would be nice to have a way for them to get in without scrambling over the rocks - but they made do, so not a big deal). The string lights over the yard were a nice touch too. Donna was a model host, very responsive and made our time at Lake Gaston a breeze. We can’t wait to come back!

Crafted house design

I personal enjoyed the wood craftsmanship of the house design. The kids liked the hanging bed on porch. If you look around you will find very unique items that you normally do not see in a typical cabin. Perfect lake house and neighborhood is safe and clean. Perfect for family trip. Property manager was quick to respond and place comes fully equipped.

Fall at the lake

We were looking for a getaway at the lake for a birthday celebration and small family reunion. There were 5 adults and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake in fall. A great location in a quiet neighborhood and nice flat yard and dock. Checkin was super easy and owner answered several queations forbus before our stay. There was 4 of us there plus our dog. The house has a nice rustic feel with beautiful wood walls and beams. You have access to yard games kayaks and floats for the lake. we used these all! We had torrential rain one day and there were roof leaks in 4 places. the owner was very responsive about this. Hope they get these fixed so the interior wood stays well preserved. The screened porch was one of our favorite locations, but it could use cleaning to remove large piles of leaves in corners and cobwebs on the inside. The swinging bed was a great place for a nap!! We would welcome a return visit here.

Awesome cabin on main lake!

We loved our stay at The King's lake cabin! The great room has windows everywhere which gives you the feeling of being outdoors and allows a ton a light into the cabin. It was a very relaxing stay. We spent a great deal of time out on the dock swimming and "bobbing" around on the floats and fishing at night. The mini fridge in the boathouse was a great idea. Donna was a great host! Always pleasant and easy to talk to. Would highly recommed!!

Lake Gaston - Main Lake

We had an incredible time. The weather was hot! The host was very nice and timely on communication. The King's Kabin appeared larger in the pictures but accommodated our family just fine. The AC cranked all week and was able to keep us cool in the blistering heat wave. The house was located in a neighborhood that had it's on boat ramp. This was ideal since we were coming with our 16 foot boat. The boat house and dock was excellent because it provided shade if you wanted to escape from the sun, yet you'd have the ability to socialize with others. The water was often low at 3-4 feet in depth. I was glad I brought 2 sets of boat bumpers because the lake near the dock is heavily traveled and waves rolled in during peak hours. The house was a solid 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store (Food Lion), so load up on groceries on the way into town. The satellite internet/tv was intermittent but we learned to be patient during glitches. We were able to go to 3 restaurants by boat, as it took less time traveling on the water, than by land. Shady Shack, The Point, and Waterside were all accessible and served bar-type food. Other than that - we cooked on the grill for the evenings. The house is tucked back into the wooded pines. Thankfully we didn't have any rain. Otherwise, with the pine tree canopy, it might have been muddy. Overall we really enjoyed our time at Lake Gaston and King's Kabin fit the bill. It was a quick 2:45 minute drive from VB and provided us a nice lake getaway.

Relaxing and enjoyable

Private Dock and boat house were awesome, with loads of water sports equipment. The house was a bit smaller than expected but met all our needs. The screened in porch was a fantastic addition with corn hole and a bocce ball set for the evening. The kitchen was really small and the appliances could be upgraded. Overall a great place to enjoy the water.

quick get away

The property was nice. The flat lot was amazing as well as all the yard games at your disposal. The only thing we were surprised by was the depth of the water at the end of the dock. It was a little shallow.

This home was hand-built by the owners parents more than 40 years ago when Lake Gaston was a little-known gem on the border of North Carolina and Virginia. The neighbors here celebrate together and look out for each other. Three generations of kids have grown up here - catching fish and wakes, making memories and campfires. This home is a perfect combination of a beautiful home with modern amenities. We hope your family can build lasting connections here also.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Kings Kabin is betwen the 11th and 12th mile marker on the main lake of beautiful Lake Gaston in the Riverbend subdivision. The house is approximately 3 miles west of the Eaton's Ferry Bridge. In the boathouse there are fishing poles, and plenty of floats. We have a variety of yard games in the gray cabinet on the side of the house. Volleyball, horse shoes, giant Jenga, cornhole, slackline, croquet.

Lake Gaston is a 35 mile long lake on the North Carolina/Virginia Border
