Cozy WATERFRONT Cottage on Highland Lake, CT - central a/c & heat

Welcome to our cottage on Highland Lake, a 445-acre lake located in Winsted (Winchester), nestled in the rolling hills of Northwestern Connecticut.

This 2-bedroom, year-round cottage features living room, two bedrooms- each with flat screen TV, bathroom, washer/dryer, and a country eat-in kitchen. Lakefront home with dock. Home has central A/C and heat for your climate control preference!

Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the boats and wildlife from the screened-in porch!

For outdoor entertaining, there is a Weber gas grill, beverage cooler, picnic table, lounge chairs, firepit, corn hole, badminton and walkout basement with summer kitchen, basement bath, and washer/dryer. New patio and driveway in 2024.

We allow early check-in at 11 a.m.

We have stayed at several rentals and this one was by far the best. The beds were excellent. This is critical for us in order to get a good night sleep. The entire cottage was very clean and the screened in porch is awesome. Well equiped kitchen too. We definately will stay there again. Highly recommend.

Great holiday weekend

We had a great time staying at Highland lake. The lake house fit our family of four perfectly. It great having a dock for our boat as well.

Warm and Perfect for our Trip

The description/pictures were spot on how nice the home is. The space was clean and more than we expected. Perfect amount of space for 4 adults. The Communication with the host was wonderful and very helpful. Will definitely stay there again for our next tournament on HIGHLAND LAKE!

Fun and Relaxing

We had a fantastic stay! The beautiful backyard right on the lake was a highlight, and we spent plenty of time kayaking, playing cornhole, outdoor Jenga, and relaxing around the fire pit. The house itself was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed. Nicole, the host, was wonderful—she provided all the necessary information and even surprised us with a thoughtful card and dessert to celebrate a birthday. We would definitely stay here again!

Great as described!

The property is clean and right size for our family. Has a great view. We liked that we could check in earlier and enjoyed the full first day; fishing, kayak, sunset, BBQ, s’more and etc.... It was raining on the second day but we did fishing little and enjoyed the view from the porch. We hope we can come back in the future!!

Calm and Quiet

Me and a buddy of mine spent a few nights here. It was exactly what we were looking for. We grilled out each night and had some drinks around the fire. The house had everything we needed to feel relaxed and get refreshed. It was close enough to outdoor hiking, YMCA, and ATV riding. I highly recommend this location for a weekend/week getaway.

Amazing lake house

The pictures don't do justice to how amazing this lake house is. The view from the inclosed porch is fantastic. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well stocked. We love the area and spent time swimming, kayaking and biking. There are so many thoughtful details in this house. We definitely hope to be back

Awesome vacation experience

Walking in the front door, your first view was of the lake through the house. Wow great first impression. We really enjoyed the stay. Everything was great. It was mid 90's all week, luckily there are 2 shade trees near the water, so you could stay in the shade to stay cool. Having the second kitchen and bathroom downstairs was great. Would definetly stay again!

Wonderful location, beautiful backyard on the lake. House had everything we needed.

We loved our stay on Highland Lake. The house was beautifully decorated, stocked with everything we needed to cook, grill, clean, etc. The overall layout of the place was perfect for a family and the beds we so comfortable! The weather did not completely cooperate with our plans, so we hope to return next summer and make more use of the kayaks, fire pit and beautiful back yard. Nicole got back to us quickly when we couldn't figure something out. Thank you Nicole!

Beautiful place

This is a beautiful home , very clean, very inviting. Second year in a row and we will be coming back next year, hopefully!! We had a lot of rain, so we spent more time indoors than we would have liked. Such beautiful views with the fog coming down over the mountains. Nicole was excellent to work with. Charming, immaculate!

This cottage is terrific in many ways, but is not well set up for people who are elderly and somewhat unsteady on their feet. We would recommend: a shorter step from the porch into the kitchen; a shorter step from the living room onto the lakefront porch; a grab bar in the shower; and a more even surface on the driveway.

Beautiful lakefront cottage!

This cottage was perfect for a getaway at the lake. Everything you need is there plus special touches. Spent our time kayaking and sitting outside or on the screened porch enjoying the view! Nicole quickly got back to us when we had a question. We will plan on staying there again!

Absolutely beautiful

We had the best time!! A week of recharging and reconnecting. This beautiful home was just wonderful. The inside was beautifully decorated, everything that could be needed was there. The view and property outside just amazing. The peace and quiet was just great. The neighborhood was quiet and neighbors were very friendly. All ready on our radar to come back next year.

Wonderful Lakeside Cottage

This is a wonderful rental. Recently renovated 2 story cottage in a great neighborhood on a crystal clear New England lake. New appliances and expertly provisioned for anything you might need and more. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone interested in a carefree vacation getaway.
