Plage Stumble - retraite tranquille et privée sur le lac Ontario

Ce chalet et la propriété est idéale pour les personnes ou les familles qui cherchent un cadre privé et qui aiment être près de la nature. A 200 pieds de long progressive plage de galets offre un accès facile au lac Ontario pour la baignade, la plongée, la pêche ou le lancement de kayaks / pirogues. (Grands bateaux de l'eau, par exemple, des jet skis ou des bateaux peut être lancée dans les marinas voisines ou rampes d'accès de l'État.) Adjacent à la plage est un grand 75x100 pi pelouse qui est parfait pour avoir tapé dans le ballon de football ou jouer au volley-ball / badminton. Profitez de magnifiques couchers de soleil que vous griller des guimauves sur un feu de joie sur la plage pendant que vos enfants jouent sur la balançoire ou attraper des grenouilles dans l'étang.

Le chalet, qui est une maison A-Frame classique entièrement meublé construit en 1995, est niché dans les bois et ouvre à la plage par un sentier enchanteur. Il dispose d'une architecture unique, à l'étage chambre en mezzanine et chambre au premier étage, 2 salles de bains, une cuisine, une grande chambre et un pi de 24x16 de terrasse surélevée qui offre des vues impressionnantes sur le front de mer et le lac.

La grande salle et chambres 20ft haute sont conservés au frais les soirs d'été avec des ventilateurs de plafond. Préparer les aliments sur le gril à gaz sur le pont de chalet ou au bord du lac en utilisant le charbon de bois. La chambre loft dispose d'un lit queen size et un lit Murphy et la chambre du bas a un lit superposé convertible (unique sur le lit supérieur et double sur le fond). Lorsque le canapé-lit est utilisé, le chalet peut accueillir confortablement 7 personnes. Ce gîte est entièrement équipée avec des ustensiles, de la vaisselle, et des couverts.

Ce chalet est situé sur une voie privée de gravier à environ 2 miles de Pultneyville, 6 miles de Williamson, à 7 miles de Sodus Point, et à 25 miles de Rochester. Parking dans l'allée de pierre pour jusqu'à 6 voitures.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stumble Beach Cottage. The A-frame cottage was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The large deck was a relaxing place to enjoy meals and the natural surroundings. The wooded mulch path to the beach was enchanting to walk through and enjoy the large beach and lawn area. Tom is an excellent host and you can see he takes great care of the property.

wonderful cozy cottage… loved the treetop patio with peekaboo view of the lake and the fairy trail to the beach. The only issue is the rocks are quite treacherous getting in and out of the water but doable when the water is calm. We ended up driving to chimney bluffs to swim which is not far and a Gorgeous spot. Incredible sunsets! The host is amazing and the cottage is very well stocked. Can’t wait to come back to this special place!

Lisa, it was my pleasure to host you and your extended family at the Stumble Beach cottage. Your comments on the beach are spot on. Although the beach isn’t really steep, one needs to step very carefully over the stones to access Lake Ontario for swimming, tubing, or kayaking. Folks really need to be wearing water shoes as the stones at the very edge of the water are typically slippery. As an alternative to the cottage beach, there’s a free sandy beach at Sodus Point just 12 mins away, and as you mentioned, a public beach 30 minutes away at the east entrance to Chimney Bluffs State Park. Thanks for doing a fantastic job tidying up before your departure. Looking forward to seeing you folks again in the future!

Wonderful home in a beautiful and private setting. The house was very comfortable and well appointed. We sat right in front of Lake Ontario watching the boaters on the lake. Enjoyed bonfires at night. Hope to return next year.

Peace and Serenity in the heart of Apple orchards

Such a beautiful property on the banks of Lake Ontario in the middle of apple orchards. Home was beautiful and open and extremely clean. Homeowner was fabulous and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely book this property again.

I’m so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Stumble Beach, Amanda. For sure … September is a month when the boat traffic on Lake Ontario begins to thin out as the end of the boating season approaches. This drop in boating traffic makes the cottage all that much more a place of solitude where the only sounds you hear are waves and bird calls. Thanks for doing an exemplary job tidying up the cottage prior to your departure. Looking forward to seeing the three of you again in 2022!

Great place!

My husband and I stayed here for a quick getaway, and the place was perfect! Tom puts so much care into every detail of the home, and it shows. Everything is clean and inviting, the home has a great layout and is easy to use. The view of Lake Ontario is absolutely unbeatable, and it's within driving distance of tons of state parks, including Niagara Falls for a day trip. Would highly recommend booking if you're looking to stay in the area!

All we needed to have a perfect vacation!

Very comfortable, secluded, beautiful inside and outside cottage! Very friendly and helpful host! Perfect temperatures of water and air, clear water (we even snorkeled). We enjoyed watching small birds at the birdfeeders, heron was visiting the pond often. Location is very good too: many places to see, many wineries and cideries to visit, grocery stores nearby while being surrounded by nature and farms.

Beautiful location and home

The house and 2 acre property is located right on Lake Ontario and is beautiful,Very clean and has everything you need. Tom(host owner) was fantastic in every way.He has everything labeled and also an informational booklet with surrounding things to do and places to eat. He goes out of his way to make sure your comfortable and having a good time.

Enchanting

The property is beautiful inside and out. Perfectly maintained with everything you could possibly need...from bug spray to water floats. Our grandchildren loved the path to the lake and play gym and called it the fairy path. The path opens up to the beautiful lake, an amazing enormous lawn with chairs, tables and a lovely pond you can walk around. A truly enchanting house in the woods.

Stunning cottage, Spectacular views

This little slice of heaven is a home away from home in the true sense of the word. Very comfortable and Tom has thought of everything to make your stay one where you can indulge in pure relaxation. Beautiful location with sunsets to blow your mind! Owner Tom was a delight to meet and chat with upon our arrival. Easy to communicate with. You could see that he really wants your visit to be a time to unplug, relax, restore and make great memories. It was the perfect vacation for us. The cottage is stunning and the grounds are breathtaking!

Quiet and peaceful

In need of a fall break, my husband and I found Stumble Beach to fulfill all our wishes. While able to enjoy all the beauty of nature, the cottage was both comfortable and cozy. Tom is an exemplary host and everything that is needed for a wonderful vacation is available. We could not be happier with our experience and Stumble Beach. Emmett, our golden, gives it 5 🐾’s. Everything we hoped for, and so much more….

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stumble Beach. We had a group of four adults. Tom has thought of everything. The cottage is very clean, in great shape, and very well outfitted. The waterfront is simply beautiful. We will definitely stay at Stumble Beach again. Tom, thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise! Your attention to detail is greatly appreciated.

Stumble Beach Rules...

By far the best place on VRBO. Tom's attention to detail cannot be surpassed. If you needed something it was there. So much to do inside the cottage and out. Loved the short walk to the lake and all the painted rocks on the path. The birds and chipmunks keep us entertained for hours while we drank multiple bottles of wine. Flawless experience. Thanks Tom.

Michael … it was a pleasure to meet you and Vicky! Yes … the chipmunks are comical … between them, the squirrels, the songbirds, and the Canadian Geese at the lake… it’s quite the show. Who needs the internet, when you have these characters to entertain you. 😊 I hope you were able to visit some of the local wineries & cideries during your stay. An Idyllic on Lake Ontario

We were visiting from Michigan, and this fully furnished A-frame cottage/cabin on the lake gave us an ideal location to host family and friends in the greater Rochester area that we had not seen since before the pandemic. Everything was spotless and organized, the owner met us at check-in and walked us through a "user's manual" of everything we needed to know to happily relax and entertain. We felt very much at home, bought goodies at the local grocer's and ordered yummy pizza from the Pizza Stop for our visitors, so they were well fed after hunting for their special takeaway stone on the property's private "stumble" beach.

Marilyn … it was a pleasure to meet you and Mike. It’s great that you two were able to enjoy the cottage for yourselves as well as entertain your close friends and family during your stay. Yes indeed … Stumble Beach has some of the most beautifully rounded and polished stones (courtesy of Lake Ontario waves) that you’ll find anywhere. Amazing Location

I’m so glad there was no hotel available for my son’s Eastman graduation! We found Stumble Beach and could not have been any happier. It was amazing and fit our needs perfectly. Tom was welcoming and the cottage is very well supplied, all your needs have been anticipated. We plan on returning for his phd graduation in 4 years! One caution, cell service and texting can be sketchy but for us that was a blessing in disguise!! Thanks Tom!!

Margo … it was a pleasure to meet you & your family. Congrats on your son’s graduation from the Eastman School of Music. I really appreciate the outstanding job that you all did in tidying up the cottage prior to your departure!!! Thanks for commenting about the spotty cell service … as that’s helpful for future guests to know. All cell service providers (i.e. AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile) can be spotty at times due to the cottage being in a more rural area of Upstate NY, and because it’s located next to a large body of water (Lake Ontario). Luckily, the cottage has an internet VOIP phone that guests are welcome to use if their cell service drops. Without getting too techie, most smart phones also allow the user to enable SMS messaging (i.e. Texting) over the internet rather than the default cellular network … but one has to configure their phone to use this feature. I may install a cell signal booster in the coming months if I can find a product that works well with both AT&T and Verizon cell service providers. Texting aside … I’m glad we had good weather for you and that you enjoyed your stay, as the month of May can be tricky weatherwise. You’re welcome back anytime. 😊

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Construction of this A-Frame cottage was begun by the owner with help from family, friends, and a few sub-contractors in 1994. Two and one-half years later, we christened the cottage with our first Labor Day party. The owner and his family have spent many wonderful spring, summer, and autumn days enjoying the flora and fauna of the property. You'll likely see quite a variety of wild animals during your stay, including: red fox, deer, raccoon, turtles and rabbits to name a few. Native bird species include: humming birds, wood peckers, nut hatches, robins, cardinals, owls, ducks, geese, sea gulls, great blue heron, and even bald eagles.

Lake Ontario with its 50-mile width and 190-mile length, has an infinite number of hues and textures that will catch your eye from dawn to dusk. The wave action on the shoreline is more frequent than what you'll find on the Atlantic or Pacific coasts of North America. If you enjoy stargazing, then you'll be impressed as the Big Dipper plants itself in the sky directly over the beach throughout the summer months.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Snorkeling in Lake Ontario is a real treat with visibility around 50 ft with a good diving mask. If a summer storm rolls in from the West, the lake transforms itself from a placid friend into an angry old man with its 4-foot-high waves. Mother Nature unleashed!

Guests are welcome to use our two sit-on-top kayaks, floats, and other water toys during their stay.

If you're into astronomy, use our telescope and binoculars to study the moon and star constellations. On nights when the cloud cover is low, you'll be able to see many earth orbiting satellites (about 1 or 2 every 10 minutes). And If you time your visit just right, you'll even be able to spot the International Space Station - ISS as it passes by 250 miles (400 km) overhead.
