Damariscotta lakefront retreat. Beautiful sandy, shallow entry to the water perfect for kayaking and guests both young and old.
Located within five miles of local restaurants in Newcastle/Damariscotta. Remodeled by the âMaine Cabin Mastersâ. Listed as the Kayakersâ Cabin in the DIY Networks â25 Rustic Retreats from the Maine Cabin Mastersâ article.
Only two downsides to the property everything else was great! Getting to the property you need a higher clearance vehicle, or drive in the brush. Our van bottomed out each time if we didn't drive in the brush in 2 spots. If you're a bigger person or claustrophobic don't stay here because the shower is way too small for those. I'm claustrophobic, and a bigger person had a panic attack the first time. Otherwise, perfect stay, we would 100% come back. My husband loves it here, he had his coffee each morning by the water, and said he wishes we had a place like this at home!
Beautiful spot. Very comfortable accommodation. Only problem is arrangements in master bedroom make it difficult to get in and out of bed and bathroom door canât be closed.
Have stayed several times over the last few years. Love the proximity to town (and obviously the lake!). It's hard to take a full week off so the flexible schedule at the "Maine Cabin Master's" remodel is a real blessing.
This was our favorite place on our 2 week NorthEast tour. Perfect combination of quiet and solitude to recharge the batteries. Amenities were great! Will stay here again another time in a heartbeat!
Very much enjoyed the treehouse feeling of this cool place -- we had excellent July weather during our short stay; this was one of the places we stayed in on a two-week jaunt up and down the coast. Cool breezes, warm lake, very peaceful. The place is perfect for a couple or one family with a few kids. Has the added cachet of having been on an episode of "Maine Cabin Masters" some years back -- if you know, you know. Not luxurious, but that's not the point of a good summer camp! We loved it.
Weather didn't cooperate much but we enjoyed our time nonetheless. Love this spot for it's proximity to the village of Damariscotta. So convenient and a cute place to stay.
You can't get closer to the water. There are multiple kayaks to use. The firepit is a decent size (which is readied for use with kindling stacked). The place is kept very clean and is stocked with essentials: coffee maker (brew, as well as keurig), typical kitchen ware, bathrooms have plenty of towels. We haven't used it yet, but there's a stacked laundry wash and dryer. We'll definitely go back!
My 3 girlfriends and I stayed at Luke and Lauraâs cozy lake side cabin in late June and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Newcastle area. The location was perfect, just under ten minutes from the main st area, with a ton of options to eat and shop! I highly recommend sunny side for breakfast and the shuck shack for lunch or dinner.
Loved this place. Amazing quiet location with so many water toys and activities. Had zero need to leave the whole weekend because there was so much to do there.
We are four adult sisters, 60+. The cabin was comfortable, had everything we needed for a good stay. Itâs located right on the water and so convenient to all the sightseeing we wanted to do. I would highly recommend as our stay far exceeded our expectations.
Wonderful and peaceful stay. We brought a small boat and were able to put it on the side by hand carrying it . Lots of kayaks and standup paddle boards as well as plenty of floats . Bottom half of house stays cool as it is built in to the hill. able to keep cool with fans . Great time ! Plenty of life jackets . Washer and dryer on the small side but we managed . Could have used maybe a brownie pan :) Pots and pans and kitchen stuff was well equipped. Great stay !
We staying with our 2 daughters and absolutely loved the cabin and the lake. They kayaked, paddle boarded and swam. The cabin itself was perfect for our family. I hope we are able to visit again!
