A cozy two story waterfront home located in the historic Mattawa Town, backing into the Mattawa river with panoramic views of confluence with Ottawa river, Laurentian Mountains and Explorer’s Point Park. A quiet, friendly town with all the amenities. This amazing home is located right across a children’s park and play area with splashpad and is less than ten minutes away from Antoine’s Ski Mountain. Location is perfect for Skiing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Hiking, golfing and much more. Walk to the downtown with restaurants, bars, stores and pharmacy.
A perfect relaxing holiday home with spacious rooms that can accommodate a large family or a group of 8 to 10 people.
Main floor has a living room, a dinning area, fully equipped kitchen, three seasons sunroom and a full bath. Top floor has a large family room, a master bedroom with king size bed and attached full bath with whirlpool tub. Second bedroom is a river view room with king size bed, third bedroom room hosts a queen bed with a study area, Fourth bedroom has 2 single beds. Top floor also has an additional third common washroom.
Home also has a large heated rec room as a open play area.

We had a great weekend at the house. It had lots of room, was well equipped and the ping pong table room was a great bonus! The host interactions were great. However, some of the furniture needs to be upgraded. The living room couch is worn out, very uncomfortable and some of the wooden chairs in dining room are coming unglued, need repair. Also the set of bunk beds located in one room are in need of repair, as the bottom braces are loose and it is very wobbly.

Old and dated but very comfy and clean !

Great old cottage for families. Lots of room. Loved the sunroom and firepit. Very well equipped. Water is very clean with a great dock. Shallow swimming has large rocksso bring your water shoes. Also a large yard for playing games and lots of parking. Loved how close it was to Main St. Supplies provided were also a bonus. Would definitely return.

Great place to stay only one regret not staying longer. Clean house on a lake front location. No issues at all.eveyone had a great stay. Like using our atvs from house to trails. Close to all amenities. Cant wait to go back . Will stay longer next time

Was enjoyed by all!

We had a wonderful time! House is larger than we expected, especially the bedrooms. The beds were all comfortable, the bonus room upstairs was perfect for the kids to whatch tv. The games room was an added bonus enjoyed by the kids and adults alike. We would certainly book this one again in the future!

Great family cottage

The cottage was great, everything was as described in the listing. Except for one thing … PING PONG TABLE!!! This was a wonderful addition everyone enjoyed it. Rathan was easy to get a hold of if needed. I would definitely recommend this cottage to families.

Excellent. Was just what we needed. We had family up from all over Ontario for a wedding and the place was great. We "overbrought", not knowing what would be supplied and shouldn't have. Very well equipped and clean.The only issue we had was the weather. Rainy and chilly. The pilot was out on the gas fireplace and we chose not to mess with it. Other than that? Highly recommendThank you

Has Potential

Great property with lots of room and close to the ski hill but the home seemed to have been smoked in at one time. Would need to be completely gutted and repainted (including ceilings) to remove the smell.

Dear Andrea, I am bit surprised by your rating and 2 stars when you mentioned in private note that you had great fun. We are a small business that are striving to serve our guests at best. If one of the guest made smoked and there is limited we could do to stop except charge them for it. We have been clear that smoking is not allowed inside the cottage. Sorry to hear that this became such a big issue that you gave two stars? My service did the cleaning and may not have noticed the smell. However, after your private feedback, my service has already taken extra care of cleaning walls thoroughly. We had a family stay over past weekend who had a great stay and no concerns with smell of smoke. Irrespective of the rating, we will continue to do best to serve our guests.

Nice location

Very nice location with plenty of room for the whole family. Some things that could be improved: We were unable to adjust the heat for the fireplace on the main floor. So the lower level was cool. Missing items like bottle opener and > 2 glasses for wine/drinks. Cleaner bathrooms would boost this rating higher.

Great Stay

This was an awesome cottage to stay at. Can't speak enough good things about the place. - The location is absolutely perfect. The backyard borders on the shores of beautiful Mattawa river. The views from the backyard is just gorgeous. - The place is quite spacious. We were 3 families that included 6 adults, 4 toddlers and an infant. There was enough space for all of us to hang around. - The kitchen is well-equipped. There was no problem for us to cook meals and enjoy our stay during the 7 nights of our stay. - The surrounding places of Mattawa have a lot of things to do. We stayed for entire week. We did the following: - The Claire Gorge - Sunday - The Marathan Beach, North Bay- Monday - Samuel De Champlain Trail, Mattawa- Tuesday - Boat Cruise on Mattawa River- Wedensday. Check out Northern Boat Tours on google. Absolute must. - Sunset Cruise on Lake Nippissing- Thursday. - Fossilarium in Notre Dame Du Nord Quebec. - Friday - Devils Rock Trai- Temiskaming- Friday. The North Bay area is simply awesome and different than Muskoka. It is more serene, quiet and untouched. A must go if you are okay with the drive. Above all- Rathan has been a wonderful host. He is an amicable gentleman to deal with. I highly recommend this place.

Great Winter Getaway

We loved staying at this cozy cottage. The place was clean and spacious. Rooms had lots of room. We enjoyed using the upstairs living room as a play area for our young kids. The backyard is huge and has a beautiful view of the Ottawa River and the mountains. There is a grocery store within walking distance which is helpful! Everything was as advertised. We hope to come again!
