Built in 1898, this 2 story columned home with original stone wall is one of the oldest, largest and most recognized in the heart of downtown Wise, just one block from Main Street shopping and dining. Around the corner is UVa-Wise - the perfect location for those attending graduations, games and other college functions.

The town of Wise comes alive throughout the year with free music performances at the Big Glade Amphitheatre, the Wise Fall Fling Festival and Chillin' & Grillin' - all within walking distance on Main Street

Nottingham Place is a short drive to many popular hiking trails & attractions - Devil's Bathtub, High Knob, Guest River Gorge, Little Stoney Falls, lakes, Natural Tunnel, Mountain Rose Vineyard & restaurants. Other notable excursions include The Breaks Interstate Park (The Grand Canyon of the South), The Sand Cave at Cumberland (with stunning vista view), Barter Theatre (the State Theatre of Virginia), Bristol Raceway and Bristol Casino

Nottingham Place's popular private Queens Chamber includes a bedroom (Heavenly Bed King Mattress, side tables, lamps, tufted bench, closet with robes, tall windows, warm wood floors, tall open shelf with flat screen tv, Keurig, credenza w extra towels, ceiling fan, transom window) connected to a living room (sofa, chairs, tables, lamps, coat tree, tall windows, 55" flat screen Roku TV, microwave, fridge, ceiling fan) and a sparkling clean bathroom (pedestal sink, shower and plenty of amenities)

The Hospitality Foyer and station with Keurig pods, wide slot toaster, mini fridge w condiments, creamers & drinks, light snacks, breakfast items, plates, bowls and silverware are available for all guests. A round glasstop table provides an additional area to hang out, play games or work remotely

Nottingham Place has 3 private guest bedrooms with private bathrooms on the 2nd floor. Accommodations up to 6 people - the perfect place for family, friends or coworkers traveling together.

Fabulous

This was the 3rd time my son and I stayed at Nottingham Place, everything was wonderful and we met one of the owner's, Kim, who was so nice and we had a wonderful chat. We finally got to enjoy sitting on the porch and the weather was perfect.

Loved it, the place to stay when visiting the area.

The place was absolutely beautiful, from the outside of the house to the inside. We had a bedroom, living room and a bathroom. The place was extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. The owners were great to work with in communication and are extremely friendly. This is a must stay place when you are visiting the area. We will be booking here again and will look to book here every time we visit the area

Perfect get-away!

My husband I were in Wise to spend time exploring and hiking in Southern Virginia and Nottingham Place was the perfect get-away. The rooms were beautiful, the bed was like a cloud, and Ben and Kim are wonderful hosts! From the early veggie dinner suggestions, to hiking recommendations for our next trip (and we will be back), to the stories (I loved learning about the house) - we loved it.

Secret Gem in the Heart of Wise

The owners are lovely hosts. The room, which included my own private bath, also included a TV area. The entire space was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to access and parking was not an issue. I would recommend this place to a friend.

This is the upstairs of an older home, gorgeous decor, comfy bed, foyer with microwave and fridge, table. One block from downtown, great location. Will definitely be back.

I work in professional theatre and education and my wife is a retired professional actor. We toured nationally and internationally for many years so we know what it's like to be visitors in new places. We always appreciated any touches of hospitality which acknowledged our ongoing quest for comfort, quality and care while on the road. We definitely looked forward to special alternatives and we hope our guests find that at Nottingham Place!

Nottingham Place is one of the oldest, largest and most recognized homes in the heart of downtown Wise, just one block from Main Street. Built in 1898, it has an original stone wall fence surrounding the front lawn and street. This Victorian Era Queen Anne style home has been slightly modified over the years - it no longer has a turret but we do have a guest room called The Golden Turret! The spacious Queens Chamber reminds guests Queen Anne style homes are among the top favorite architectural homes for over a century. Nottingham Place is over 120 years old, but guests will appreciate plenty of modern amenities. Central heat and A/C assures year round comfort and all 3 upstairs guest rooms have ceiling fans and heaters for additional options to suit individual preferences. Nottingham Place is in a perfect location - walking distance of restaurants, shops and around the corner from UVa-Wise. There are 3 small shopping centers nearby - one in downtown and the others a short drive away. Plenty of popular restaurants, walking & hiking trails and other activities are also within 15 -30 minute driving distances. Prefer to stay put? Guests may enjoy sitting outside on the fabulous covered and columned porch - spacious and inviting, plenty of seating options to choose - rocking chairs, wicker furniture, cushioned loveseats and other chairs, this beautiful porch has it all! It's a guest favorite, like "something out of Southern Living Magazine!". Enjoy small town charm as folks drive past or walk their pets. The neighbors are incredibly welcoming - you may find yourself chatting with one or two across the stone fence! The perfect location when attending Wise Fall Fling, Chillin' n Grillin' Festival, UVa-Wise events and sporting events nearby.
