We had an awesome time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great communication from the owner and the home was clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this property!
This property is in a great location, away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to get to any of the attractions you would like to visit. The house is very comfortable and homey. Henry was a delight to deal with and so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.
We stayed for eleven nights, with my sonâs family joining us for part of the time. Our two grandchildren (ages 7 and 10) especially loved the houseâs peaceful waterside location. Each day they couldnât wait to check the crab traps to see what they might have caught. They also really enjoyed fishing and watching the shrimp boats and barges going past the house. Day trips from the house were typically 30 minutes or less. We would highly recommend the Cajun Encounters swamp tourâeven the adults who were initially reluctant to go had a fabulous time. We visited New Orleans a number of times and spent a lot of time at City Park. They have a lovely branch of Cafe du Monde there, which is just as wonderful as the busy original near Jackson Square, but much more relaxing. Also, if you are traveling with a dog, consider buying a short term pass for NOLA City Bark, which is available for purchase online. Itâs also located in City Park, and is without a doubt the largest and prettiest dog park we have ever visited. Henry and Petra were wonderful hosts and quickly responded to any questions we had about the house and the area. We all had a great time and would not hesitate to stay again if we get the chance!
We had a great experience! The host was very accommodating, helpful, and responsive. The property was clean, well appointed, and nicely situated along the bayou allowing for fishing, serene scenery, and a relaxing family trip.
We got married this weekend and stayed out here for the entire wedding weekend. The place was perfect. Henry the host was incredibly gracious and helped ENSURE our wedding weekend was perfect. We spent two days following our wedding just relaxing out at the house, on the deck,, watching alligators pass. My family came in from out of town and they got the full Louisiana experience out there. They preferred being out there versus being in the city. Best weekend of my life.
We recently stayed here for Spring Break with our family. The house layout is awesome and Henry took care of us from the start, was easy to communicate with and helped teach us to trap crabs.Would absolutely stay again!
Our family wanted to visit all the great things New Orleans has to offer, and also relax and unwind at the same time. This was the perfect place to put the congestion of the city at arms length and enjoy a tranquil and peaceful
This is a beautiful property, right on the water, with crab traps too! We had a wonderful time at this house. We are close enough to New Orleans for a short drive into the city to explore, but far away enough from all the hustle and bustle. We caught a few crabs from the traps, and the kids loved poking at them. The property owners were very responsible via texts. Overall, a wonderful family vacation. One note for future vacationers: pick up a few jugs of spring water on your way in. The well water the house uses has a typical coastal water taste, so if you aren't used to it, just get a few jugs of water from Walmart as you pick up groceries on the way in.
Beautiful place and just perfect for our first Louisiana Experience. We had the best of both worlds. close enough to enjoy all the great things about New Oroeans but
We were a group of 5 guys who get together annually. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Henry (out host) was superb and very responsive. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to avoid staying in the city. It's about an 35 minute drive went you wish to head into the city.
The location was great! It was far enough away from the city to be quiet, relaxing and even secluded with excellent fishing. The host made everything so easy and smooth and the house was clean, roomy and charmingly inviting. We didn't want to leave!
This property was great and exactly what we were hoping. We were greeted at checkin and shown the property. Henry was great to work with during the stay and he even helped show us how to crab while we were there.
Could not have asked for a better Place or experience than this!
We highly recommend this rental. We wanted a place outside the city to experience some quiet time in the bayou. We enjoyed coffee in the morning overlooking the water with boats passing by. We also enjoyed fishing and catching crabs from the dock. The house is spacious, extremely clean and the owners are very attentive. This was a family trip to attend a New Orleans Saints football game. We spent the day traveling nearby and would return early evenings to catch the evening sunset :)
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Henry and Petraâs property. The house has an amazing waterfront view that will give you the most memorable sunsets, along with great wildlife sightings as well. Also, It is far enough away from the stress of the city that you can relax. The hosts were wonderful as well. During my stay Henry kept in touch to make sure everything was going great and to alert me of any storms or answer any questions I had. If I were to come back to Louisiana, I would definitely stay here again.
I am a New Orleans native that loves the outdoors as much as the city. My family loves the quick trip to escape the city and enjoy our "Sportsman's Paradises", one of Louisiana's nicknames. One of my many joys is watching my children play on the water while catching fish, blue crabs or kayaking. It's so nice to see them detached. Truth be told, it is nice that I detach with them.
If you want beautiful waterfront views, with very few neighbors, this is your place. We are nestled in Bayou Savage National wildlife refuge. It is conveniently located near Lake's Pontchartrain, Saint Catherine, Borgne as well as the rigolets. A boat launch is just .5 miles away. We have connections with local fishing guides that will pick you up on the dock.
As much as we anticipate you will want to enjoy being on the water, we are conveniently 25 minutes from the French Quarter and Louisiana's famous cuisine. There are only a few places this close to the city of New Orleans. In addition to all the things you can do at the property, golf, museums, city park, shopping are near by.
