This waterfront home has all you want with AMAZING sunrise and sunset views over Bayou Sauvage and Lake Pontchartrain. With a stunning oversized great room and deck, there is something for everyone. We are only a 28 minute drive from New Orleans French Quarter! Relax on the back deck or in the hot tub while looking at a beautiful horizon. Go for a swim. Take out the kayaks. If you donât want to get on a boat, fish and crab from the dock or chill in a hammock swing. The oversized living room and kitchen feature spectacular views. It is a great place to relax or watch a game. Youâll be camping in style at the Pelican View
We recently stayed here for Spring Break with our family. The house layout is awesome and Henry took care of us from the start, was easy to communicate with and helped teach us to trap crabs.Would absolutely stay again!
Our family wanted to visit all the great things New Orleans has to offer, and also relax and unwind at the same time. This was the perfect place to put the congestion of the city at arms length and enjoy a tranquil and peaceful
Beautiful place and just perfect for our first Louisiana Experience. We had the best of both worlds. close enough to enjoy all the great things about New Oroeans but
This property was great and exactly what we were hoping. We were greeted at checkin and shown the property. Henry was great to work with during the stay and he even helped show us how to crab while we were there.
Could not have asked for a better Place or experience than this!
The location was great! It was far enough away from the city to be quiet, relaxing and even secluded with excellent fishing. The host made everything so easy and smooth and the house was clean, roomy and charmingly inviting. We didn't want to leave!
We were a group of 5 guys who get together annually. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Henry (out host) was superb and very responsive. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to avoid staying in the city. It's about an 35 minute drive went you wish to head into the city.
We wanted a quick getaway to relax and unwind before the holidays. It is a beautiful property and so close to New Orleans. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back.
Charming house over the lake with everything you need to relax and spend super fun family time with kids - kayaks, crab boxes, hot tub, games. Close enough from New Orleans to go for visits as well. We really enjoyed our stay, we how we can come again soon. The owner was very helpful and responsive with any questions . Highly recommend the place !
Great stay! Leroy (our friendly neighborhood alligator) made sure we felt welcome almost daily and the crabbing was a really fun new experience. Thanks for sharing your place with us!
Beautiful home a little older but very comfortable we loved the quiet area the deck and water was outstanding when we came back from the city was a great place to rest . Commutation with the owner was good the place was clean and ready for us .
Great hosts! Nice, secluded spot, with cold a/c, steamy hot tub, and a chefâs kitchen! We spent time reading, playing games (on the grand table!), watching wildlife and unforgettable sunrises/sunsets. Quick ride to NOLA or Slidell. If we ever find ourselves traveling back to the area, weâll definitely look to stay here again!
Excellent property with a very attentive host! Couldnât have asked for anything better for a quick little retreat. If youâre a fisher, bring your pole and bait because the fish literally jump out of the water at night!
We highly recommend this rental. We wanted a place outside the city to experience some quiet time in the bayou. We enjoyed coffee in the morning overlooking the water with boats passing by. We also enjoyed fishing and catching crabs from the dock. The house is spacious, extremely clean and the owners are very attentive. This was a family trip to attend a New Orleans Saints football game. We spent the day traveling nearby and would return early evenings to catch the evening sunset :)
Just what the doctor ordered so they say - fresh air, breathtaking views, endless sunsets, fishing, relaxing in the hot tub, yoga on the top deck, meals outsideâŠno worries!
This is a beautiful property, right on the water, with crab traps too! We had a wonderful time at this house. We are close enough to New Orleans for a short drive into the city to explore, but far away enough from all the hustle and bustle. We caught a few crabs from the traps, and the kids loved poking at them. The property owners were very responsible via texts. Overall, a wonderful family vacation. One note for future vacationers: pick up a few jugs of spring water on your way in. The well water the house uses has a typical coastal water taste, so if you aren't used to it, just get a few jugs of water from Walmart as you pick up groceries on the way in.
Nice home about 25min outside of downtown. It is a little drive but thatâs what we wanted. Well maintained property and very easy to get along with and helpful owners.
Really nice, private, safe property. We enjoyed our stay. Close to New Orleans and also to the beaches in Mississippi. The owners were responsive and we'd stay again. Fully equipped. Liked the waterfront deck, very relaxing.
I am a New Orleans native that loves the outdoors as much as the city. My family loves the quick trip to escape the city and enjoy our "Sportsman's Paradises", one of Louisiana's nicknames. One of my many joys is watching my children play on the water while catching fish, blue crabs or kayaking. It's so nice to see them detached. Truth be told, it is nice that I detach with them.
If you want beautiful waterfront views, with very few neighbors, this is your place. We are nestled in Bayou Savage National wildlife refuge. It is conveniently located near Lake's Pontchartrain, Saint Catherine, Borgne as well as the rigolets. A boat launch is just .5 miles away. We have connections with local fishing guides that will pick you up on the dock.
As much as we anticipate you will want to enjoy being on the water, we are conveniently 25 minutes from the French Quarter and Louisiana's famous cuisine. There are only a few places this close to the city of New Orleans. In addition to all the things you can do at the property, golf, museums, city park, shopping are near by.
