2 Bedroom Downtown Apartment with off street parking.
This is a fully renovated 2 bedroom apartment in beautiful downtown Devils Lake ND. One bedroom has a new queen size bed and the other has a new full size bed. The apartment is full furnished including pots and pans, dishes, fridge, stove, microwave, bathroom and bedroom linens and much more. It is within walking distance to grocery stores, dining, shopping and nightlife but still only a short drive to our beautiful lake with ample fishing and other sporting interests.
Gail was excellent to work with. I was disappointed when we got there to see that there were about 19 stairs up a narrow passage. Unfortunately, in my 70s, I was not able to carry my suitcase up them. It was a great location if you were using the Amtrak train.
Came from Michigan hauling snowmobiles for a couple customers, and stayed a couple extra days. Didnt spend much time there, mostly to get out of the negative teens..it was so cold and it was nice to come in and get warm. Ample parking for a full size truck and a 4 place snowmobile trailer.
Good parking for pickup and boat with plug-in for charging. Nice apartment with updated TV. Need your log in details to use Netflix or Prime. Air-conditioned. Would stay here again.
Gail was really responsive and attentive. Whenever I had a question, she was readily available to answer my message shortly. The location was really clean and comfortable. Had all the accommodations needed for a weekend getaway. Will definitely book with Gail again in the future when we come back to Devils Lake. Thanks Gail!
The unit was well stocked and clean.
Taller folks may be challenged with the low headroom going up the stairs but it was not a problem for me (6â2â)
It worked well for what we needed. The host was super responsive and easy to work with. The apartment is in an old building and is located above a store (although I'm not sure there's an actual tenant since we didn't see or hear anyone). This is not stated in the listing so, upon arrival, we were a bit confused.
Apartment was very clean and comfortable. Gail is very personable, kind and attentive. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, pots and pans, and linens. The beds were comfortable and bed sheets, blankets and comforters were nice. Off-street parking. Grocery store across the street. Felt safe walking downtown and through residential areas.
The apartment worked well for the 4 of us. Each coupled had their own rooms, living room big enough. We never cooked but all the necessaries were there. Three things were not up to a great review. The air conditioner filter was filthy and made the place smell. Smelled much better after I washed that, maybe check it once in awhile. With 4 adults it would have been nice to have more washrags. The washing machine wasn't working so we couldn't wash the towels or the washrags.
We found the apartment to be fairly clean, well equipped, and nicely furnished. The common area was comfortable once problems with the window AC were resolved.
The unit is in an older building, so some additional challenges are related to that. First off, the trim around the entry door was not properly cut. This led to the door catching on the trim panels whenever we went in or out. The property manager noted this for repair.
The unit is definitely not ADA compliant. Because we are all over 65, we discovered during the booking process that the only access to the apartment is via a narrow, partially lit, staircase having 19 steps to reach the second level unit with little room to maneuver.
Overall, the unit was clean, however there were food items from previous occupants left in the cabinets and refrigerator. The first time I opened the oven, I detected that it also had not been well cleaned.
The unit might sleep 6, but thereâs only 1 bath to share.
The AC mentioned previously is a tiny window unit in the common area which was too small to cool all the rooms and did nothing for the bedrooms when the doors are closed. This led to some uncomfortably warm nights during our stay. It is my opinion that a better solution, barring a total renovation, is to add similar sized, small AC units to each of the bedrooms.
The freezer's ice maker is inoperative, but there was no tray to catch the ice anyway.
The stovetop has an erroneous light indicating a hot burner.
Thank you.
